In this course, I was able to take an in-depth look at state-of-the-art recording techniques used in today's music industry. Through hands-on classroom exercises and faculty demonstrations, I explored the art of recording, while participating in live performances, engineering, and additional aspects of advanced music recording.
In this course, I learned the Sanford Meisner Technique.
I was assigned to a specific Department Production, I was given the task of being the Sound Operator for Renascence.
The course has given me as a student practical run crew experience on productions, I was assigned to a specific technical position for the run of departmental production. There were diverse titles with various responsibilities and time commitments, I also attended the strike at the end!
Introducing reading a play as an imaging of action. Exploration of structuring plot, character, and other elements of a play. Compares texts with interpretations in live and video productions. Introduces elements of production as a play moves from page to stage.
I learned the fundamentals of acting for the stage, focusing on behavior-driven, and psychological acting training. We engaged in improvisation, exercises, and theatre games that would develop a spirit of play to tap into our creative expression.
Demonstrated the ability to comprehend and analyze dramatic structure, Constructed comprehensive formal analyses of a diverse array of scripts, and Learned established terminology. As well as concepts from the realm of dramatic criticism, I applied the principles learned in class to enrich and elevate creative undertakings, lastly understood how analysis not only enhances but ignites imagination.
Introduction to Technical Theatre: TH106
In this course, I learned about Production Elements: materials, equipment, and construction of scenery. As well as costumes, lighting, and sound. Lastly, I learned about stage management, IATSE, OSHA, MSDS, and run crew.
In this lab, I had the opportunity to have a hands-on introduction to tools and materials used in technical theatre. Lastly, I was taught by specialists in each area.
A seminar on musical preparation, professional performance etiquette, and stage demeanor. Students learn propriety in performance through modeling by music faculty and are required to perform on multiple occasions to receive professional critiquing, as well as constructive criticism from peers. The importance of the musical performance with respect to genre, audience, purpose, and venue are explored. Elements of advanced harmony; applied chords, mixture, extended and altered dominants, Neapolitan and augmented sixthcords, modulations to distant keys, keyboard applications.
An in-depth look at the music industry's inner workings and key elements from peripheral businesses that interact and offer job opportunities. Career exploration are discussed highlighting jobs behind the scenes and/or outside the realm known as the music business.
This course has prepared me to make high-quality recordings using live music scenarios. Emphasis will be placed on microphone techniques, professional etiquette, and recoding procedures used in contemporary musical ensembles. Final projects are completed at end of semester college musical recitals.
In this course, I had a hands-on approach to digital audio recording and production techniques. Topics include recording, editing, and mixing in Pro Tools. I have created a radio commercial by wrighting and recording a script and creating music. In applying knowledge of the skills I have learned I ran recording sessions, created songs, and performed.
In this course I have learned to summarize the historical development of music technology - Demonstrated the ability to effectively use MIDI mapped sampling and phrase sampling. Lastly, demonstrated the basic knowledge of sound recording, single processing, and editing.
In this course, it was required of me to complete basic keyboard lessons I and II.

In this course, I have learned the basics of the Violin and its history. I have learned the Suzuki technique and my violin is from the Palatino brand.
In this course, I have learned various singing exercises and learned how to develop a basic singing technique. Lastly, I attended Recital Seminar I, II, III, IV with Mr. Jerry Livingston.
This course is introducing me to film music from around the world. I am learning the intricacies of cinematic soundscapes, examining the profound impact of music on the storytelling process in film. Throughout the semester I will delve into the historical evolution, compositional techniques, and cultural influences that shape the art of film scoring in different parts of the world. I am currently having a hands-on experience, scoring sections of films themselves.
For my senior project, I will be working with 96.5 FM radio station. In this interdisciplinary course that integrates the skills and knowledge, that I have learned in liberal arts courses and major program courses. I will be put into small interdisciplinary groups, I will collaborate with other students on a Ten-weeklong project that relates to the Villa Maria College core value for the respective year. On-site collaboration with a community agency for 5-10 hours is a course requirement. After the course, I will learn to analyze, synthesize, and present information and ideas. The college service learning day is an integral part of the course and an integral writing course.
This class introduced and explored Visual Vocabulary, looking and seeing as learned skills, and translation of idea to image. This course established a common vocabulary of theatre and dance practitioners who work in collaboration on the production of new performative works. During my time in this course I gained the knowledge of demonstrating an understanding of the elements, principles, and principles of design. Deployed the language inherit in visual design in response to artworks, architecture, performative actions, theatre, and dance production components; as well as demonstrated the ability to articulate a visual vocabulary. Further more I researched new ways to make artistic decisions while being less afraid of "getting it wrong," I learned to fully appreciate the skills needed to translate written and verbal ideas into visual terms. Lastly, I presented written response journals, studio projects/discussion board submissions, and a class portfolio using the steps required in the process of design.
In this course, I learned the 20th and 21st century drama and theatre world by reviewing and reflecting on changing US identities. Furthermore, we looked at the ways in which plays and performances define what it meant and what it means to be
“American,” as well as how individual playwrights and how theatre artists reshaped dramatic literature
and theatre to represent their own diverse identities. Lastly, we learned the variety of identities - racial, ethnic, gendered, and classed - that emerge from the diversity of US theatre.
In this course, I learned how to break down a Script: How to prepare a precise and exacting rehearsal method, how to make fundamental character choices and how to uncover the characters dramatic intentions. While emphasizing working together with my peers in groups, sharing space, and playing objectives. Lastly, I have had the privilege to work on group scenes and exercises to prepare for the scenes and build technical skills.
