Charles was classically educated at a 500-year-old school, where he studied Latin and Greek. His partner insists that he went to Hogwarts, which he feels is a little unfair, especially since he went to university in an actual castle.

Over his career, Charles has recorded over 80 audiobooks under differing names. His focus is on genre fiction and spiritual non-fiction, which play to the strengths of his resonant vocal tone and love of the ridiculous. His voice is a warm baritone with sharp dynamics and a classical British RP intonation.

Charles is a big fan of radio comedy and pulp fiction, and listens to neoclassical and orchestral.
