About Blake Xerxes

My name is Blake and I am a non-binary digital artist with a bachelor's in Art & Illustration. I specialize in character concepts, designs, and illustration. I have personal and academic experience with comics, storyboarding, video editing, acting, and more.

Coursework included, but not limited to, drawing and illustration courses using traditional and digital media, figure drawing courses, development of comics and storyboards, and classes that taught how to master the adobe creative suite and other artistic programs.

Digital Cinema Minor - 2021

Digital Cinema Minor

John Brown University - 2023

Theatre Minor

Instructed by Josiah Wallace and Peter Rexford

Participated in multiple theatrical productions and classes. Acting experience included The Hunchback of Notre DameBig Fish: The MusicalSense and Sensibility, and Silent Sky. Some other coursework included Stagecraft, Directing for Theatre, Introduction to Acting, Introduction to Improv, and History of Theatre.

Pricing

Equivalent to at least $20/hr. I can do less (even free), but keep in mind that unpaid labor will not be the same quality as paid labor, and I will not be as motivated to complete assigned tasks and work. Art takes time and time is money. I am in debt, I have to pay rent, I have to work other jobs that do pay money, and I have to take care of myself. I understand having small budgets or no budgets when you're just trying to create what you love, but please be considerate to the time and efforts you're asking of other people.

What Blake Xerxes is looking for

I'm trying to figure out where I fit within the Art Industry and what will bring me the most joy. I am most experienced with character concepts and sketches, storyboarding and layouts, and some creature design. I also have some experience creating animatics and test 2D animations as well as some 3D Modeling skills. Basically, my favorite part of the artistic process is just the sketching parts but I'm not sure how that translates into the industry as a job. But I am a fast learner, and I always love to learn new things. I have experience in acting and directing as well, but I prefer to work with my hands.
