Asera is a member of King Edmund's Council, and she is also the best definition of a "loose canon" in the audio drama. She is exceptionally powerful with her magic, having access to creating and manipulating strange demonic creatures, along with near mastery of Curse Magic, but she also has little understanding of morality. Noone knows her anything about her past, including how she was born, other than the fact that at the age of 3 she was found by Edmund. This is reportedly because she had been found eating an entire village of people with a group of disgusting creatures she summoned called Hobbs, which are notably extremely rare to find naturally. These were the only creatures she wanted to socialize with at first, which led to her gaining the nickname of "The Hobb". She seemed to not have a grasp on the concepts of death, emotion, and morality as a whole from the start, which gave Edmund an opportunity. He took Asera and raised her to be a killing machine who did what they were told without thinking and placed her on the council just because she trusted him and would always vote in his favor. Despite this, she never really grew to actively like her job... in fact she kind of hates it. She constantly requests to learn more about what it's like to be a 'mortal' as she calls other people, but she has been prohibited from meeting with people besides those in his court, and even they have been barred from teaching her about morality and what it means to think for yourself. Even when she's on missions, she has an item she's been told to wear to 'enhance her magic' that prevents her from speaking so she doesn't ask questions and learn that what she's doing is actually wrong. So she is like an extraordinarily powerful child, who has been groomed by Edmund from a young age and doesn't understand morals or the meaning of death, and trusts Edmund inherently for saving her. However, she does long to understand the mortal experience, and despite having killed all her life... she does seem to have an inherent disdain for it, a feeling which she also wishes to understand. These feelings mixed with her growing age has made her far more adventurous and moving closer towards disobedience in her quest to answer these burning questions that remain inside her.
