Cheng is an archaeologist and the first victim of Laocorn and his gang, having been attacked by them on an expedition. He survived the attack only to become corrupt and evil.
Some consistency with Cheng's base voice would be nice, as we'll likely cast the same actor in both roles. Otherwise, feel free to go crazy with the voice, since he doesn't really even talk in the original movie. Sounding evil, raspy and over the top might work best.

I really like the first voice, but unfortunatelly I don't think it's very fitting for Cheng. The 2nd one is good too, but maybe a little too young for this particular character. The third voice needs a bit of polishing, but I think it's the best one overall and it could definitely work. If you can do a Texan accent, would you like to try out Big Bear as well, mainly in your first voice?

Nice to see a new face here! The first two takes are maybe a bit too young sounding like Spinachio said, though the grunts in the second take strangely enough do sort of remind me of Long John Baldry's Robotnik which I like, I think if you kept that up with the regular voice it'd be perfect. The third take is probably the most fitting and you have the right idea with the rasp you added, but it doesn't sound like it allows for much range. Still a good effort overall though, and feel free to audition for regular Cheng if you'd like!
