The character, Mum, is struggling with a gambling addiction which is shattering her relationship with her young child but also the way she reacts to simple questions. She's almost robotic and drone-like, but when asked the questions becomes easily angered and annoyed. She has a very harsh tone to her voice. She obviously cares about her daughter, but love nothing more than to be just left in peace to keep gambling. 

The lines listed were taken from the opening scene where mum is becoming more and more annoyed at Jody being around. Her tone is as mentioned, very annoyed and harsh.
