Thank you for your patronage!
Hi and thanks for auditioning! 1. Good news - looks like you have the basics of technicals down. Your audio is not too low and not too high - which is great! —— 2. The direction referenced a Nature Documentary. Whenever you see this, the spec is asking for Sir David Attenborough. Do some research on his voice and his unique delivery style. Do not COPY or IMPERSONATE, but embody the style of delivery and tonality, while incorporating your own personality. That’s how you interpret references. Your delivery felt measured like a documentary narrator, but the style felt rather melodic and unnatural. —— 3. “Haruko” is pronounced “HA-ruko”. There are a lot of Japanese-material projects here on CCC and it would serve you well to know that most Japanese names have the emphasis placed on the first syllable, and that each syllable is preserved and pronounced, rather than blended together like we speak in American English. Not to say deliver like HA ru ko, but knowing to say HAruko than haRUko would be a good place to start if you audition for more projects like this in the future. ——— 4. You did not include the audition lines for the Bakery Worker. Whatever the reason may be, the impression that the casting director receives is that you don’t want that role and/or you forgot it. Such impressions are not the optimal first impressions and should be avoided at all costs. — I hope this is helpful. Good luck!
