Project Overview

OVERVIEW

Zelda’s Diary is a post-game Breath of the Wild comic set between the ending and the “true end” epilogue of the game. If you'd like more info you can read it here!


This is a casting call for a project that is a supplement to the main story. Character voices do not need to match those from in-game so please don’t stress over accents/etc. For spoiler-reasons I don’t want to talk too much about it, but I’m happy to elaborate once casting is complete!



DETAILS
*This is a paid project, with payment after each chapter. Please don’t audition if you aren’t willing to commit long-term. Supporting roles and above currently have payment set at $1 per line, rounding up to the nearest $5. However I’m happy to negotiate if I like your work your and your standard rate is higher. This will be paid after lines are sent and will be via paypal only.


*Extras may be hired as recurring roles


*High-quality audio please, there’s only so much I can do in adobe audition.

*Please be prepared to submit lines and amends on time via Wetransfer, google drive or discord.

*Many of these audition lines are filler lines. Character dialogue is subject to change in future drafts.


*Have fun! I like to mess around and make outtake reels of my projects so please feel free to keep it playful. If we have to work on something long-term I'd rather we enjoy the process!

  • CASTING COMPLETE

    Hello! PHEW That took longer than expected. I honestly wasn’t expecting to get 250 auditions I’m kind of shook and exhausted! Honestly thank you so much to everyone took the time to audition. Casting is really tough and so please don't feel disheartened if you weren't chosen for a role. I really hope we'll get to work on projects together in the future! Without further-ado I'm proud to announce the cast, however this is subject to change if voice actors become unavailable: Princess Zelda I’ve casted the very talented Ruka, I loved her audition and then proceeded to listen to everything else she’s ever starred in. If she had me hooked then I’m sure you’ll enjoy her performance too! Link I casted the very fabulous KingKodiak!! He had the sound I was going for and his voice work is incredible! Link has literally no boots to fill and there's a lot of pressure in that but I'm sure he'll do great! Impa For Impa I ended up casting Dotto! I loved her Zelda audition but the sound of her voice wasn’t a good match with who I wanted to cast for her father but I knew I wanted to work with her and after much deliberation I offered her the role of Impa. I’m really excited to hear what she produces! Norah She was tricky to cast due to her role in the story! I ended up casting my good friend StarXHusky. I’ve worked with her on my Visual Novel project as well Warriors: Fire Alone and I’m always super happy with her work! I can definitely trust her with this role. King Irae It’s the King and as a result I casted the very kingly-sounding Mornal! How can you top those deep vocal tones? He’s so intense my gosh… Really good! I’m super pumped to work with him! Deltan (Gerudo 1) For team mom of the Gerudo I’ve casted the immensely talented HayleyJay. She blew me away in every one of her auditions and I’m super happy to have her on board Aveli (Gerudo 2) For smaller sister Gerudo Aveli I’ve casted the also very talented (Look, they’re all great the standard here is way too high) Mirisha! (I tried to cast a range of voices on the guards so that they didn’t all sound “Generic guard” and I think all of these cool actors bring a flair of personality to the part!) Guard 1 The aptly named KnightKombat Guard 2 The approachable Pikachu888 Guard 2 The stern-sounding Celrah Again, thank you all so much for auditioning and if you would like any feedback on your audition - please don't be shy to drop me a DM!   • THATS A WRAP!

    Thank you so much to those of you who took the time to audition! I'm honestly blown away by the standard and I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to get casting. (What a lovely problem to have!) Obviously it's going to be tough and I need to find voices that work well together (What with characters being relatives and what not) so please don't feel disheartened by your choices. I work on a lot of voice acted projects so if this doesn't work up I sincerely hope we'll get to work together in future! All the best and I hope to get you an update as soon as I can! Well spoken, self-assured and a little ruthless with her decision making. The Princess has trouble switching off from her duties, but is fascinated with new technology. She has a hot temper but her actions come from a desire to do good and protect those she cares about.


Needs to sound clear and commanding.


This role is also a singing role - However, don’t be put off if this is not your forte, I can hire a singer separately. I will choose acting ability over singing. If you would like to be considered please add this into your audition. The Ballad of the Goddess is a good place to start if you need a prompt.



  • My father has a gentle heart, he wouldn’t know what to do with them. You there, do you speak? Or are you only capable of scowling? If you’re a translator then surely we can come to some sort of understanding?

  • I have never been given the luxury of choice and I cannot grant it to you, either. There is no room for negotiation! I need you to work with me, so let me make this very simple for you.

Loyal to a fault, but laid back and a little lazy. The hero likes to play tricks on people and show off his footwork with a sword in hand, but this is probably due to his upbringing. He doesn’t speak often and thinks his words through very carefully.


Needs to sounds sound approachable and comfortable with doing a classic Link yell.


  • Wait! Zelda! I… I understand… Not them. They are my friends.  

  • That new stuff’s all too flashy. I'll keep this, I prefer steel. I like the sound it makes when it strikes and how it wears over time. It’s dependable that way.

  • Go without me. I made a deal, I should keep it. That’s what you said, right? I'll be fine here. You know I can take care of myself, I'm not a kid anymore!

Strict, stern and to the point. Impa is aid to the Princess and takes her job very seriously. She is fond of her, but her professionalism means they don’t share the rapport Zelda does with her sister. She is elder sister to Norah.


Impa is quite mature and soft-spoken but perfectly capable in a fight.


  • I’d hate to dictate your priorities but we have a rather more pressing matter, your grace.

  • I can’t say. I’m concerned that my sister has made some kind of error.

  • Not bad, but your stance is weak. With a blade that heavy you need to compensate with your footwork. You can’t get by on speed alone, here let me demonstrate.

Driven, enthusiastic and ruthless in executing her ideas. Norah has dedicated herself to the sciences and is a little bombastic in her creative process. She has a very positive relationship with the Princess, acting as somewhat of a mother-figure, and treats her warmly. She confronts most obstacles, good or bad, with an almost morbid fascination.


She needs to sound louder than her sister with more emotion in her words.


  • I’m glad Impa brought you, although I’m sorry to interrupt an event in your honour in this way. Sneak out right under your fathers nose, did you?

  • Smugglers. It was the Gerudo chief who tipped us off, actually. They put up quite the fight too, cost me two of my men.

  • After everything I have done? After every moment I have dedicated myself to the descendant of the goddess? I will not stand idly and listen to these insults, I don’t care who you are! You’re nothing to me!

The King of Hyrule, seasoned in his position and an outstanding public speaker. He loves his daughter more than anything, but people say his heart is too kind. He needs to sound warm but also capable issuing serious and intimidating commands. Some of the older members of the royal guard say he was quite the fighter in his youth.

  • Nonsense! The throne will be yours in no time and I couldn’t think of anyone more suited to it, don’t you agree?

  • Now, what is this? If this boy is to be our saviour let’s treat him with kindness, eh? Fetch him something warm to wear and fix him up a hot meal. The quicker the better!

  • I will not be undermined in my own throne room! Get out! Don’t make me say it again!

There are two of them and Hylian is definitely not their first language. Deep-voiced, defiant and a little angry. For these if you could also include a hearty Gerudo laugh in your audition it would be appreciated.


Their Gerudo is Breath of the Wild-esque. Will you have to say some bizarre made-up Gerudo further down the line? Probably.

These girls are a recurring role but it's quite minor.
