Project Overview

Hello and Welcome!

This is a casting call to produce a cover of "You Will Be Found" from the musical "Dear Evan Hansen". Gender is not a requirement, so feel free to choose whatever part you desire. I hope to get this out in January, so let's create something beautiful and heartwarming together ^-^.

When casted, I will ask how you would like your persona to look as well as for social media links (ie. YouTube / Twitter / Instagram/ etc.) because I like giving the people I work with a shout out because you deserve it.

There's a large need of community voices, so if you are not selected to become one of the characters, I may hire you to become a part of the community / company. I just need all the help I can get, so please spread the word.

The casting phase will go on for as long as it is needed. Once casted, I'll hopefully will have the lyrics done by then and then you may start singing your parts if you can within 2-3 weeks. If you have a really minor part ex: one of the voicing parts, then get that to me ASAP if possible.

Depending on how well this first song goes, I may also try to host / produce other genderbent covers of not only "Dear Evan Hansen" but other musicals as well.

A high school senior who struggles with social anxiety disorder. He is assigned by his therapist to write letters to himself about why each day will be good, which becomes the catalyst for the plot of the story. He also has never had any friends, and has had a crush on Zoe Murphy for a very long time. After Connor's death, he begins to tell lies of him being friends with Connor to the Murphy family because they found Evan's letter to himself folded up in Connor's pocket; they thought Connor wrote it to Evan. The first act centers on his outreach propelled by Connor's death, while the second act has him unleash his yearning towards the Murphys and his anger towards Heidi and Jared, who he believes have used him for validation and ignored him when they didn't need him.

I'm not picky whether this part is sung by a guy or a girl. I'm choosing based on your singing capabilities since this is a major part for the song especially with a large amount of solos. 

Any range is okay but a mid range is preferred.

Evan's precocious and sometimes insufferable classmate. She is constantly looking for academic and extracurricular activities to boost her collegiate chances. She never knew Connor, but is greatly affected by his death and quickly joins Evan in founding the Connor Project in order to keep Connor's memory alive.

Alana has a solo and has a mid high range.

You don't necessarily have to be female to audition because I want people to enjoy the part they are given. There are some parts that are spoken as well.

Another of Evan's classmates; he is the closest thing Evan has ever had to a friend. The son of a family friend of the Hansens, he initially only talks to Evan so his parents will pay for his car insurance. Evan enlists his help in crafting fake emails from Connor, and slowly becomes a true friend to him. However, as Evan becomes preoccupied with his relationship with the Murphys and fails to further Jared's prominence in the Project, he turns his snide nature against Evan...only to be confronted by his own self-centeredness.

Note: You can be female and sing Jared's part. Gender roles don't matter. This part has a slight short solo and is part of the company

Connor's younger sister and Evan's longtime crush. She was never close to Connor, hated him even, but wishes she had known him better and turns to Evan after he lies and says he was friends with Connor. She doesn't get mad at Evan, but rather forgives him, after the truth is revealed.

She does have a solo and is part of the company. I would say have a mid - mid high range.
