Project Overview
I'm working on converting a comic of mine into a visually enhanced audio play. Mostly it will play out like an audio play, but with slideshow images appearing as the narrative moves forward. The series is a dramedy, and will require both the ability to act in dramatic scenes, as well as comedic ones.
The story itself is a deconstruction of the magical girl genre, examining the lives of a magical girl team in their mid-30s. The script will feature strong language, violence, and sexual themes (though no sex or nudity).
I'm currently casting for two scenes:
The first scene will involve a fight with one of the magical women and a drug cartel in the amazon.

Todd is one of the captives of the guerillas. He is an environmental activist who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He's also very likely permafried.
So, uh… what’s with that thing you’re holding there? Are you an alien or something?

Dani is a part of a magical team, and a main character for the series. Her specific element is wood and plants. She's in her mid-30s and should have a low, tough voice. She is fairly stoic, mostly chill, but at times can get flustered with unexpected circumstances, especially when dealing with people. She enjoys being by herself in the nature most of the time, like a grizzled old mountain man (except not grizzled or old... YET!)
She is of Mexican descent, though spent her entire young life in California and was not brought up speaking Spanish. However, she's spent a lot of time recently in Venezuela fightin' crime, and has since then picked it up (the ability to speak Spanish for Dani is preferred, but not necessary). She loves the thrill of danger, and will even (and often) do stupid things in search for it.
Dani is also gay, and will eventually have romantic scenes with another woman, so if this might make you uncomfortable, this probably isn't the part for you.

Valentina is one of the captives of the guerillas. She comes from money, hasn't been in captivity for long, and is pretty disgusted by the whole thing.
Why would you subject yourself to the heat and the filth of this wretched jungle? I was only here for five days, and my hair is an absolute mess!
Well I am very grateful for your selfless, albeit violent act of benevolence, jungle girl.
Thes is a fifth dimensional being, older than time itself. She chooses to reveal herself typically as a young woman and her voice should reflect that. She is fairly lazy when it comes down to it, and doesn't really want to do anything but relax and daydream. Whenever she's forced to bother with exerting herself in any way, she's not happy.
Thes is the franchise's main villain, and her villainousness comes from the fact that she is SO lazy, she'll do anything to obtain maximum chilling out. ANYTHING.
Aw, don’t be like that. I’ve been looking forward to meeting you for so long, Felicia, and we were all getting to be such good friends. I mean, I’ve already learned so much about you. Like the fact that you’re mortal, and that you only have a silly little fire stick to defend yourself with. I think that means that it’ll take me, oh, all of three seconds to kill you.

Yeah, back when I was a teenager. My grandma used to bring us VHS tapes of American shows. The Rainbow Rangers were one of my favorite! Especially that Misty, heh heh.
