Project Overview
What Stands in the Dark, reimagines Rumi’s “Elephant in the Dark,” portraying a fragmented search for truth. Five unseen figures encounter different parts of an immense being—each interpreting it through their own lens. The film reveals how limited perception breeds illusion, yet invites reverence for the act of seeking itself.
What Stands in the Dark is being directed by Pouya Afshar, who is working alongside a small team of animation students and animators to bring this film to life.
I, Millicent Basler, am working as a student animator on the film, and I am the one managing this casting call. I will be the one you communicate with throughout the time you are working on the film.
What you will need:
A Discord account. Please leave it in your audition description.
A good microphone and a quiet place with no background noise to record in.
A cooperative attitude and dedication to the project. Please make sure you're able to get your lines recorded and sent on time. I will provide deadlines.
