Hello! I was inspired recently to write out an audioplay, for practice in writing, editing, etc. I wrote the entire script out and now I just need the voices to bring it to life!
It's a ~30-min long one-shot drama (meaning it only has one episode, kind of like a short film) with some horror undertones, meaning there will be low points and high points. I'm a voice actor myself, so I wanted to make a script that would be fun for a voice actor to do! So that means there's some shouting, crying, tense moments. Yay!
Because of that, this is a warning: The drama has quite a bit of swearing in it, death, and dark themes (mainly discussions about traumatic pasts.) Keep that in mind while auditioning please!
With that in mind, let's get into the details!:
Story Information:
One-sentence explanation: A couple of friends think they're getting together for a fun party to reminisce about old times...until things take a turn for the horrible.
More in-depth analysis:
Kenneth, Cynthia, Sofie, and Nathan visit their friend Priscilla's house under the belief that a fabulous party is about to be hosted there. Priscilla is known for her lavish parties and they're extremely excited for it to start. That's why they find it a bit odd that they're the only ones there when they arrive, but quickly decide to spend the bonding time by remembering their childhood memories together. Things take a drastic turn, however, as secret after secret is uncovered...and Priscilla isn't letting them leave until every secret is revealed.
(Very simple concept! Only three settings in the whole thing. I tried to make sure the richness of the plot is brought out through the dialogue.)

Minor character!
Voice type: Whatever, really. He's kind of just a typical dude. Any range is fine.
"Rough is an understatement, Aiden. That’s brutal."
Minor character!
Voice type: Same as John's. Typical dude. Any range.
"Crazy! Girl, you’re incredible. Are you sure you’re okay to come to classes?"
Personality: Level-headed but fun-loving and sometimes flirty, likes getting drunk and just having a good time. She's able to keep her voice relatively calm, even in stressful ordeals.
Voice type: Mid or mid-high, typically cheerful and bubbly.

(making idle conversation) "Man, her house is really out of the way, isn’t it? How does she make it to class on time everyday?"
(serious and stern) "I don’t like the way you’re talking to my boyfriend. Stop calling him those kinds of things."
(choking through sobs) "You’re disgusting. I hate you. ...I hate you!"
Personality: Very different from the other happy-go-lucky characters. He's more quiet, observant, and only speaks when he feels he has something important to say. Kind of just a nerd.
Voice type: A slightly higher or just mid guy voice is fine. He's not sheepish, just hesitant to speak up a lot--when he does, it's very blunt.

(sticking up for someone sincerely) "Just because something’s different doesn’t mean it’s freaky. She probably just watched too many horror films back then. I was into creepypastas and stuff too in grade school."
(confused, slightly uneased) "...Why did you just lock the door?"
(shaky breaths, maybe a bit of a growl) "Don’t move."
Minor character!
Voice type: Anything really. Just a person with a normal voice. I picture the nurse to be female, but if you want to audition as a male, go ahead!
"Your visitor is here. ... I'll give you two some alone time."
Minor character!
Voice type: Experiment with different types of news castor voices. Multiple takes are encouraged! Anything goes! She only has one long line where she delivers the news story, so keep that in mind.
(Find or make up any news report at least ten seconds long, ie "Breaking news, twelve cats have been found stuck in the chimney of a Yorkshire home and are awaiting rescue... blablabla")
Personality: A bit more emotional than Cynthia, but equally as fun-loving and bubbly--if not more so. Expect some shouting and choice words if you make her mad, though.
Voice type: Mid-high or high, also cheery and bubbly, but a bit more energetic than Cynthia. Maybe even a subtle valley girl if you can.

(greeting each other with hugs and kisses on the cheek) "Hey Pris! Mmmwah! Nice to see you again!"
(upset, angry, totally done with everything that is happening and ready to snap) "I'm calling the police, this is psycho-- Where's my phone? Give me my phone, you psychotic freak!"
(in tears, trying to get someone to stop saying things she doesn't want to hear) "Just stop it already!! Stop it!!"
Personality: Think basically every guy from Until Dawn rolled into one. xD Especially Josh and Mike. He just wants to have fun, play around, and he can be kind of obnoxious, but he's not a bad guy.
Voice type: Any normal dude voice. I'm not looking for some crazy accents or anything. Just an energetic guy who thinks he's really funny. Any range.

(casual hello) "Nathan, my man, what’s up?"
(slightly unnerved recalling the troubling memory) "I threw it away, obviously. I saw her crying over the trashcan when I packed up to go home, and I felt kind of bad-- but god, what was I supposed to do? That thing gave me the creeps."
(a little creeped out, trying to calm the situation down, but voice is shaky) "Pris, I-I know you like horror and scary stuff, but we’re really not into those kinds of games, man--"
