Washed Away (JUKEBOX MUSICAL) (Concept Album)
Project Overview
Washed Away is a jukebox musical about grief, friendship, and the futures that get swept away too soon, and that no matter how hard it gets there will be people by your side.
Lauren, a quiet high-school senior, is forced by her English teacher to write a letter to someone she has lost. That someone is Tony — her closest friend — who died in a car accident months earlier. As she begins the letter, Tony appears. Not as a memory, but as a ghost that only she can see.
The heart of the show. Quiet, intelligent, emotionally guarded. She is stuck between the living world and the ghost of her best friend. Must be able to carry long emotional arcs, shift between grief, anger, tenderness, and eventual acceptance. Strong contemporary belt/mix with excellent storytelling ability.
