What is hemp?
Hemp is a natural resource that we are not utilizing. It is still illegal to grow in some states, and even the states that do, have regulations.
Hemp is not marijuana.
Unlike marijuana, hemp does not give you the euphoric feeling of being high.
Did you know buildings can be made with hempcrete?
Hempcrete is made, four parts industrial hemp hurd, one-part water, and one-part organic binder.
If you build with hempcrete, it is better for the environment.
So we are wondering, why are we still using concrete?
This started the #StopPouring Campaign.
During Hemp History week, June fifth to eleventh, we prohibited concrete from all Lowe’s retail stores.
We gathered representatives from the Hemp Industries Association and had them take all the unused and discarded concrete we could find, smash it, and lock it away.
This entailed a huge display of concrete, with all concrete products unable to purchase within Lowe’s. But why?
We wanted to show the public how something like hemp, that shouldn’t be classified as a Schedule One Drug, unfortunately still is in some states, causing us to harm our planet.
The Hemp Industries Association partnered with Lowe’s, during this week, to make concrete unable to purchase for a whole week to raise awareness of hemp’s benefits and its much needed decriminalization.
And when you asked Lowe’s cashiers why, we gave you wristbands and stickers to spread the #StopPouring campaign. This lead to the Hemp Industries Association’s microsite to show you what industrial hemp can do.
What can hemp do? More like what can’t hemp do.
