EPISODE 8: "A CHIVALROUS HEART"

Every commanding officer has a starting point in their military careers – and Minerva Victor is no exception.  Before the events of the war, the young woman struggles to reconcile her pride and finds it difficult to accept that her greatest rival, Claude Wallace, always seems to pull ahead of her achievements.  Eager to lift her spirits, Christel Ward – whose intense attachment to the lieutenant has been subject to many interpretations – helps lead the charge in Minerva realizing that war cannot be won on pride alone... and there is nothing more the young woman wishes than being victorious at the side of her beloved.

SQUAD STORIES...  WHAT ARE THEY?

Squad Stories are sub-episodes during the main narrative that explore the backgrounds of the soldiers featured in them.  Supplementing the core cast of characters are 30+ individuals who all have their own stories to tell... of friendship, love, loss and redemption.  Some are light-hearted, some are serious... but all are well-done and provide the player insight into the minor characters of Squad E.  There is a character for everyone!

Each episode focuses on different characters so it allows many opportunities for voice actors to audition.  Some characters do make more than one appearance; they will be noted in the audition listing and preference will be given to those who would like to reprise these roles in the future (ie. Claude, Miles, etc).

Check out our Youtube page and Discord server for when the episodes are released - and be part of an awesome and friendly community!

BEFORE YOU SUBMIT AN AUDITION

1)  Above all else.... audio quality is important. Avoid recording in "boxy" rooms, or rooms with no unwanted noises in the background.  Ensure there is no buzzing or “humming” (usually from a nearby computer fan) in your audio.  I'm not an equipment snob, but at least make sure your takes are clear.

2)  Performance is paramount - be willing to explore the full range of the emotional spectrum.  Each role will require some degree of raising your voice, crying, screaming, etc.  If there are issues with this, please message us.

3)  For actors who would like constructive criticism, leave a comment when you submit your audition.  We believe all correspondence regarding acting advice should be private - constructive criticism will be offered via PMs only by the actor's request.

4)  There are lip flaps in the Squad Story segments.  A link to each Squad Story will be provided as reference.  Do your best to match the flaps – but don't worry if you aren't exact.

5)  Though the characters do have official voice actors, please do not feel compelled to imitate them exactly. We are looking for actors, not mimics. Unless specifically noted, use the voice type as a suggestion.  The emphasis is on acting range and performance, not vocal matching.

6)  There is an age restriction in place.  Ensure that you do not audition if you are below the age of 16.  There is cursing and mature thematic material that may not be suitable or appropriate for younger actors.

7)  A Discord account is mandatory. This is for the sake of communication with production members in one central place - no email tag!

8)  Participating in a live reading session will be required before being cast. Having done this in the past for other productions, this is to make sure both the actor and the director see eye-to-eye on things.  Communication is vital.

9)  If you are not chosen for a role or see an audition rejected, remember that you are not being rejected on a personal level as an actor.  It is all part of the process.  Do not take rejection personally and send messages "fishing" for sympathy.  If you are not ideal for one character, there are many others coming along that might be a better fit.  Do not risk your reputation.

10)   If you cannot commit to the role, please do not audition.  Deadlines will be enforced, no exceptions.  Only actors who are serious should audition.

11)  And most importantly... have fun!  If you have any questions, feel free to send a PM!

Role assigned to: SageD

Female.  Early 20s.  Serving as Lieutenant Minerva Victor's aide-de-camp, Christel is also Minerva's closest friend and is well-known in the ranks for two things: her steely logic and an intense dedication to her commanding officer. Rumors abound of the exact nature of her devotion to Minerva... and those rumors would be true: Christel is head-over-heels for the lieutenant and cherishes every moment by her side.  She fantasizes about with her to the end, forever and always.  When she claims to lay down her life for the woman she loves, Christel means every single word.

Voice-type:  Medium-high, but open to interpretation.

  • “But you were the first graduate in your class to be promoted to Commander. Isn't that proof that you're better than Claude?”

  • “Lieutenant Victor, you need to snap out of it! (regains her composure slightly) I tried to hold my tongue, but you leave me with no choice. It's bad enough that you haven't been thinking clearly.  You don't even realize how irrational you sound!”

  • “(inner thought; overjoyed)  ...For rich or poorer, in sickness and in health. (gasps) Like a wedding vow! Oh Minerva, I do, I do, I do, I do~~! <3”

Role assigned to: deleted124723

Male.  Early 30s.  A helpful veteran who enjoys helping less-experienced squadmates overcome their insecurities, though his unwavering optimism – and terrible luck – often makes others feel uneasy around him.  A friendly “big-brother” type.  Currently on his final tour of duty, he fights with the hope of ensuring a more peaceful tomorrow for his wife and unborn son.  Believing everyone has their own skills to contribute to the war, Jimmy thinks very highly of all his comrades – no matter how  different they may be.

Voice type:  medium.  Though very optimistic considering all the bad things around him, he is genuine and never condescending.

  • “Hahaha! You're an “omen of doom”, huh?  Well, can't say I've heard that one before.  But a force of doom sounds like a good thing to have on my side!”

  • “We're going to have to work as a team, so we need to try and get along.  Claude knows what he's doing when he assigns teams.  I'm sure we can get through whatever happens tomorrow.”

  • “I want to end this war as quick as I can.  So that my child can see this world at peace.  That's why I joined the military.  I'm gonna get through this one last tour so I can go be with my family.”

Role assigned to: kelseyva

Female.  Early 20s.  Known for her obsession with all things unlucky, it is no surprise she volunteers to serve with Jimmy on his most recent assignment.  A thrill-seeker who has learned to take a certain satisfaction from her own bad luck, Lily's morbid perspective also carries with it an inner sadness she keeps hidden from her squadmates.  Calamity is said to follow the young woman wherever she steps.  Frustrated that no one wants to be her friend, Lily finds a small shred of happiness marching with Jimmy and Thomas into battle... as they all share one thing in common: bad luck.

Voice type:  medium/medium-high.  The joy she finds in misfortune is unnerving but never to the point of mentally unsound.  Lily is a gentle soul and perfectly sane – only her perspective on life is twisted.

  • “You haven't heard?  (oddly ominous)  I bring misfortune with me wherever I go.  I'm practically an omen of doom myself.  Who knows what'll happen to us tomorrow...?  (pause)  Oh, look.  A flock of crows flying to the east.  (creepy chuckle)  That's an ill omen if ever I saw one.”

  • “(with a smile)  What a coincidence.  I've been seeing bad omens as well.  I woke up from a dream about Squad E being annihilated by the Imperial army.”

  •  “(with a glint in her eye)  Oh, I just wanted to see what disasters I could wreak on the battlefield.”

Role assigned to: Jindusmer

Male.  Mid 20s.  Preferring fantasy to his own miserable reality, Thomas assumes the mantle of the fabled war god Odin as an escape from his mental malaise.  Try as he might to conquer his fears, his cowardice is infamous among Squad E's ranks.  His war-god act, however, also carries with it an unintended side effect: the ability to leap into battle with the bravery of a dozen men.  But once the zeal of his theatrics wear off, Thomas is reduced to a blubbering, babbling mess – as he paints the inside of his trousers a different color.

Voice-type:  Medium-high.  There is a stark vocal difference between Thomas and “Odin”, the former fearful and a neurotic mess, the latter calm and collected.  This role requires intense screaming.  If you are unable to do so, DO NOT audition.

  • “(Odin persona) Fate has indeed smiled on the two of you. Destiny has conspired to ally you with my dark power.  My mind is as sharp as a sacred godslayer blade.  Even in danger, I can react with calm, deadly grace and—”

  • “(normal voice) (frantic)  Eyaaargh!  It's over! We're all dead!  (cowardly scream)  W-We can talk about this later!”

  •  “(normal voice) (very ashamed)  I just moved without thinking, really.  I'm... I'm nowhere near a god of battle.  Compared to you two, I'm... I'm just a coward.”

Role assigned to: blissthelion3ss

Female.  Mid 20s.  Distant and detached, Rebecca is known for her cold personality – not necessarily out of malice, but out of necessity.  Harboring many demons waging their own war on her tortured soul, the young woman is forever wracked with the guilt of depleting her stock of medical supplies in a past battle; many lives were lost that day and she now suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, manifesting itself in the form of debilitating nightmares.  She chooses not to form close ties for fear of losing them as well; Rebecca wants to be close to her comrades but is terrified of becoming too emotionally attached.  Has a slightly sarcastic – if a bit macabre – sense of humor.

Voice type:  medium/medium-high.  Aloof for the most part, but with an underlying layer of warmth that simply needs to break through to the surface under the right circumstances.

  • (with venom) "...I have my own ways of doing things.  Besides, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.  What do you call a gunner who can't shoot a gun?"

  • (sarcastic smirk) "Try not to get shot, girls.  And if you do, don't come crying to me."

  • "That battle dragged on for hours. All I could do was watch my friends die, one by one.  I hear their screams whenever I sleep.  But I keep waking up... still alive.  So every morning, I promise myself I won't lose anyone else."

Fleuret Valois

Role assigned to: Blue Phoenix

Female.  Early 20s.  Serious, straightforward and somewhat stubborn – for better or worse (though typically the latter).  Exceedingly proud of her family's noble heritage and her father's status as a knight back home, Fleuret longs to follow his courageous example; if she is to live by the sword, it is her ultimate wish to die by it.  However, she remains frustrated that she cannot carry her sword into combat and treats her service firearm with disdain, believing guns are for cowards.  Her bullheaded sense of pride results in her having a very thin skin – if so much as a syllable poses an affront to her family's honor, she will stoutly defend it.

Voice type: medium-high.  In the source material, she has a French accent.  A French accent is not a requirement for Fleuret if you can't pull it off – stick with a voice that is comfortable and within your abilities.  A realistic performance is key.  Make sure she doesn't sound like a cartoon character.  If you choose to record any audition with a French accent, you must include takes with unaccented lines as well.  Auditions will not be rejected for lack of a French accent.

  • (accusatory) "Lady Rebecca!  What, pray tell, were you playing at?  Why did you withhold Ragnaid from your comrades?  Could you not see their wounds?"

  • "My father was a knight – an honorary title, of course, but he practiced swordsmanship every day.  (with reverence)  He was an honorable warrior, and I hope to be one, too.  That is why I follow the code of chivalry.  Knighthood means living and dying by the sword."

  • "Mabel, were you just, how you say...sticking up for me?  And you really let him have it.  I've never seen you lose your composure like that."

Mabel Drake

Role assigned to: Sara Dunham

Female.  Mid 20s.  Whereas Fleuret is rather uptight about her family's heritage, Mabel is more passive – anyone familiar with the Federation army should not require any introduction as to the reputation of the Drakes: her proud bearing and well-worn sniper rifle tell the entire story.  A very serious and professional soldier, she wastes no time in her endeavours and minces no words; “wiggle room” is a foreign concept for any Drake.  Rumours among her fellow squadmates involve her eating bowls of nails for breakfast and drowning them in a gallon of mercury – even the male soldiers do their best not to cross her. Despite her intimidating demeanor, Mabel has a soft spot for cute fuzzy things beneath the surface.  Kittens, puppies, bunnies and especially teddy bears are among the few things to cause any wavering in her otherwise steel will and ironclad focus.

Voice type:  Medium/medium-high, but open to interpretation.  Assertive but not “bitchy” - she is not a nag, just someone who has a commanding authoritative presence.

  • (snappy)  "Don't play dumb with me.  You said Fleuret is “completely useless,” didn't you?  Are you really a crack shot yourself?  If you can do better, you should help her improve.  Throwing insults behind her back doesn't help anyone.  The only one being useless here is you."

  • "Listen, I say this because I care.  If you don't improve your aim, you won't live by the sword... you'll die by it."

  • "...Oh my God, so cute!  (quickly, trying to protect her reputation)  What?  N-no, of course not!  (with dignity)  I'm a proud soldier.  I don't care about that... cutesy stuff."

Curtis Blackwell

Role assigned to: Krynur

Male.  Late teens.  For someone so young, Curtis is quickly rising up the ranks as someone to be counted on in the thick of battle.  Many of his comrades praise the young man for his stoicism but, in reality, Curtis is painfully shy; the “perfect soldier” persona is one he puts on to keep people at a distance to prevent his social anxiety from affecting his performance.  Difficult to approach at first but when he lets someone into his small social circle, he's a friend for life.  Deep in his heart, Curtis is very reserved, mild-mannered and meek... perhaps to a flaw, since it can be construed as a lack of confidence.  But when those he loves are put in harm's way, Curtis goes full-on “beast mode” and is willing to give his own life to get them home.  God help the man who harms his little sister.

Voice type: medium / medium-high.  Aloof, but with an underlying warmth that shows when surrounded by the right company.

  • Laurent... What should I do? He came all this way to introduce himself, and I just completely blew him off.  It's all just a misunderstanding! Just, when people talk to me, my anxiety flares up and... I'm just no good at talking to people. Unless it's you or my sister...

  • Why didn't you fire? All you had to do was pull the trigger!

  • I, uh... I dunno about that. I've made my fair share of mistakes. Sometimes it's hard for me to tell right from wrong.  You're my best friend. Long as we stick together, I think we can make a difference.

Eileen Blackwell

Role assigned to: irisdragon

Female, mid/late teens.  A social butterfly, Eileen's bright smile is a very welcome sight during the doldrums of war.  Enlisting out of concern for her brother after he was seriously injured on a recon mission, Eileen's sense of responsibility is very admirable – even if Curtis does find it overbearing at times.  Though once a painfully shy child like her “big bro”, Eileen has strengthened her resolve considerably in the face of danger; though not officially in a front-line combat role, she is an excellent marksman and a fearsome warrior for someone who looks so cute.  Sensitive to the needs of others and always willing to help.

Voice type:  medium/high. A proponent of the “tough love” approach to getting the most out of her squadmates – used often on Laurent and especially Curtis.  Eileen can be demanding but she is never “bitchy” or an insufferable nag; all she wants is for everyone to be prepared so they can come home alive.

  • (with a slight edge; she is obviously concerned about her brother) Come on, show a little confidence.  Those Imperials will jump on you the first chance they get.

  • (soft, almost ashamed) I was acting all tough, saying I'd protect you... but you ended up having to protect me again.

  • (embarrassed) Huh? W-wait— that doesn't count! I didn't mean to say it, I—! I-I just came by to say thanks! That's all, okay Curtis?

Role assigned to: doublealogic

Male, late teens.  Whereas his childhood friend seems indecisive as a result of his social anxiety, Laurent is the opposite – proudly stubborn, a brave leader and a strong believer in justice.  On the morality spectrum, the only colors in his mind are black and white; in his eyes, “might makes right.”  Friendly, talkative and always with a smile on his face, his squadmates often wonder how someone so gregarious and friendly can be close friends with someone as surly as Curtis.  Unbeknownst to them, Laurent wonders this as well – but is able to see Curtis' kind heart beneath the gruff, awkward exterior.  His purpose in joining the Federation Army: the Empire is evil, and it's time to make them pay for their aggression.

Voice type: medium/medium-high.  Speaks with a strong sense of conviction when voicing his opinions, but is never judgmental.  Sees himself as the “big brother” Curtis never had.

  • Worried? About what? I'm just here to take out the bad guys! (pause) The Empire's evil. It's our job to make sure good wins and evil loses.

  • Man. When we were kids, I'd have never guessed we'd end up fighting back to back in the army... Not to mention Eileen joining up with us. She used to be so shy...

  • Sounded like she'll be on tomorrow's mission too. You're supposed to be the big brother here. You gotta shape up!

Role assigned to: Jindusmer

Male.  Late 20s.  A strong-willed and stubborn engineer who grew up in a family renowned for the production of quality tank parts.  An undying – almost obsessive – love for tanks has followed him since he was a young boy, often to the frustration of the army's tank operators who simply want to do their jobs without being bothered.  Sees Dan Bentley as the “rock star” tank operator of the Federation army; if Dan is the frontman of a famous musical group, Aulard is his #1 fan.  Very mercurial; he can go from the being the most confident guy in the world to the most insecure at the snap of a finger.

Voice type:  Medium-high, but open to interpretation.  Very excitable when around his tank babies.  Follows Dan like a lovesick puppy.  Has a friendly rivalry with Miles and wants to prove him wrong most of all.

  • (curious and excited analysis)  Hmm... These treads are really made to last.  And the armor plating is angled to deflect shots...  Man, tanks are so awesome!  I'd never get bored just sitting here all day looking at one!

  • He doesn't even need words!  Oh, he's so cool!  You see what I mean?  You see how awesome he is?!  Man, I wish I could drive a tank too!  I want to be a legend, just like Private Bentley...!

  • (suddenly excited)  Hell yeah!  This is the chance I've been waiting for!  (now desperate)  C'mon, let me join you on this mission.  I-I can ride on the tank!  Just this once!  Please?

Role assigned to: TwiggyShei

Male.  Early 20s.  Squad E tank driver and mechanic.  Cool as a cucumber and handles any difficult situation with commendable aplomb and levelheadedness.  Very jovial and friendly; gets along with everyone.  Loves every tank to the last rivet and takes any damages to them personally; if he could put a ring on his tanks, he would be the happiest guy in the world.  Is a major character in the game but plays a minor role as Ronald's foil in this particular sub-episode.

Voice type: medium/medium-high, but open to interpretation.  Does not have a cynical bone is his body.  Sees everyone as a potential best friend.

Note: We are dubbing more Squad Stories in the future.  If you would like to return in the future as this character, let us know by leaving a comment when submitting your audition.  Casting preference will be those who indicate interest in reprising their role in future episodes.

  • “Ah– Ronald, hello.  Me and the others are going to dinner if you'd like to join us...”

  • “I'm glad the operation was a success, and Keigel and Ryan made it back safe, but... agh, the tank's a wreck.  This is going to take ages to fix.”

Role assigned to: LofiSaiyan

Male.  Early 30s.  Regarded as the best tank operator in the entire Federation Army due to his incredible grades at the academy, Dan walked away from the glory of tank operation and settled into a more modest role as the squad's APC driver.  Not a man for the spotlight, Dan would rather lend a helping hand to his allies in a support role; he feels uncomfortable with the idea of killing.  Taciturn, reserved and stoic, all heads to turn to Dan when he breaks the silence.  Modest to a fault.  Does not like getting his picture taken.

Voice type:  Low/medium-low.  Does not give into emotional outbursts; he remains level-headed in all situations.  A big-brother presence to his fellow squadmates.  Has a slight Southern accent in the source material; feel free to match it if you can pull it off but if you can't do the accent convincingly, focus on your performance instead.

  • “... I'm not into killin'.  Whatever skills I got, I'd rather use 'em to help my teammates.  Wherever you wanna go, there's always more than one path you can take.  That's what I think, anyway.”

  • “No need to thank me, kid... just get ready.  They're comin'.”

Role assigned to: CraftyMatt

Male.  Late 30s.  Suffering the cold hearts and insults of insensitive bigots due to his race, Godwin learns an early lesson in self-reliance; there are very few people in which he places any degree of trust.  Distant, cold and aloof, he  lives his own life and cares little how other people regard him... but it's mainly out of self-preservation rather than malice.  On the inside, Godwin is very much a broken man.  Drowning in self-pity and despair, Godwin simply accepts his lot in life and only wishes to be left alone.

Voice type: Low/medium-low.  Doesn't experience significant mood swings – except, of course, the occasional outburst of rage.  When something does affect him, the reaction is very slight... to which he subsequently responds with deflection and returns to his brooding, cynical self.

  • “Must be nice livin' in La La Land, where everything's rainbows and sunshine.  But those of us in the real world gotta get by somehow.  Besides... they're dead.  They don't need this crap.  I do.  You can turn a blind eye, can't you, missy?”

  • “You don't give a shit about me, you just wanna feel good about yourself!  So take your savior complex and beat it!”

  • “I gotta look out for number one.  In the end, all I'm gonna be is another rotting corpse.  Nothing but carrion for scavengers like me to pick at.”

Role assigned to: kelseyva

Female.  Late teens.  Raised by a convent of nuns before enlisting, the optimistic Nico desires nothing more than to make the world a happier place – even if that means raising a gun and fighting for her country.  While her mental framework operates from the principles of her religious upbringing, she is never judgmental or condescending to those who don't share her faith.  Having lived her entire life surrounded by religion, she often struggles to understand why some people choose not to follow God's teachings... but eventually learns about and accepts those perspectives.  Nico's beaming smile puts everyone at ease; always looking at the bright side of life, she is the type of person to soldier forward no matter the odds.

Voice type:  High.  Young, eager and optimistic, but never overly hyper.  Easily excitable when she's happy.

  • “He looked lonely.  But also angry.  And yet, so sad... (disappointed sigh)  Rosetta, I've got to help him.”

  • (happy and excited) “Oh, there you are!  Guess what, Godwin?  Claude told me you're going on a recon mission soon... and I'm going with you!  There's nothing we can't do, if we work together.”

Male, late 20s.  Once a priest, the mild-mannered Rosetta left the church for his own personal reasons.  Feeling responsible for the murder of a “dear friend” because of his inability to curb Darcsen discrimination via his pulpit of faith and acceptance, he hung up his frock for good and joined the army.  Reserved and effeminate, Rosetta presents himself as female.  Sensitive to a fault and bearing the full weight of guilt on his shoulders, Rosetta wishes he was able to do more to save his friend from dying at the hands of bigoted extremists.  Godwin is not the only broken man Nico encounters...

Voice type:  Medium/medium-high, but open to interpretation.  Light, gentle and airy, androgynous. Men and women are welcome to audition for this role.

  • “You see, I was inducted into the priesthood by a Darcsen.  He was... my friend.  A gentle and loving man.  He was a Darcsen rights activist, whose many supporters worked day and night to fight against bigotry and hatred.  (very sad and near tears)  But in the end, his dreams never came true.  He was shot and killed by extremists, during a peaceful protest.”

  • “Everywhere he went he was met with cold hearts and closed doors.  The only person he could rely on was himself.”

Role assigned to: beardyman

Male.  Early 20s.  Former tank officer of Squad F; after the annihilation of his unit, he is begrudgingly folded into Squad E.  Harboring a burning resentment for Squad E not being there to save his fallen comrades, Ronald prefers to keep his new squadmates as distant as possible – in his mind, they are responsible for the murder of his second family.  Proud to a fault, Ronald holds Lieutenant Minerva Victor in an almost reverent regard... while viewing Squad E's members with the utmost of contempt.  Has a slightly dignified air about him; measures his words very carefully and rarely loses his composure.

Voice type: medium-low/medium, but open to other interpretations.  A man conflicted between his pride and ability to forgive.

  • “Say that again.  Look me in the eyes and say that again, you bastard.  That's what we were?  Expendable pawns?!  My friends died for you, and you insult them?!”

  • “I do understand... Squad E isn't directly responsible... for what happened to my team.  Still, I... When I remember the battle, I remember... hearing my commander cry.  I heard her rage, her despair... I can't forgive Squad E that easily.  Not when I think of everything they put her through.”

Male.  Early 60s (but sounds middle-aged).  The emotional tolls of war, especially after the loss of Squad F, are getting to him.  Heavy with the regret of his son dying in combat, Keigel bears the lion's share of responsibility in making sure his younger squadmates make it through the conflict alive.  A bit rough around the edges at first, but a giant teddy bear beneath the gruff exterior.  As one the elders in Squad F, Keigel sees himself as the “team dad” – and his scores of new “sons” appreciate his support and bravery.

Voice type: Low/medium-low.  A father figure to the young recruits desperately trying to remain optimistic.

  • “Hm... Well, guess so.  Gettin' on in years and there's no denyin' that.  Still, after what happened to Squad F, I think a sigh is the least I owe 'em.  I've done my time.  If anyone should be gone, it should've been me...”

  • “You talk like that, you're gonna hurt someone.  Listen, it's that kind of attitude that—”

  • “Y' know... my son went off to war a long time ago.  They told me he died servin' his country.  I see his face every time I look at one of these new, young recruits.  Here, or in Squad F.”

Role assigned to: deleted124723

Male.  Early 60s (but sounds middle-aged).  Mercenary who joined up with Squad E for the thrill of combat – war is his life.  Weary with all the horrors of war, Ryan has a jaded, cynical perspective that often rubs his peers the wrong way.  Though blunt and lacking in subtlety or tact, the old soldier of fortune has a good heart... and a comical addiction to sweets.  If presented with a choice between amputation or the shooting pangs of sugar withdrawals, he would choose the former every single time.

Voice type: Low and a bit gravelly.   Not a man of many words - but when he speaks, he makes his words count.

  • “(sighs) ... If you ask me, we're both getting too old for this shit.”

  • “Sometimes you have to sacrifice pawns to win a game.  We just need to accept it and move on.”

  • “Heh.  If greenhorns like this are all we're up against, we've got nothing to worry about.”

Role assigned to: Faux Synder

Female.  Early 40s.  Loving and nurturing, always looking out for her younger female squadmates.  A divorced single mother, Brittany has grown especially attached to the luckless-in-love Rita and the forlorn Millenia.  Confident but not brash, the “mama bear” of the team.  If anyone puts her friends in harm's way, they had better watch out.

Voice type: medium/medium-high.  The unofficial “team mom”; the younger girls in Squad E practically idolize her and that responsibility isn't lost on her.

  • “Listen, you need to step back and take a good look around you.  You have every advantage in the world.  You're young, you're beautiful and you're talented.  If a boy can't see that, he doesn't deserve you.”

  • “Marriage, huh... best part of mine was the divorce.”

  • “Millenia... I can't imagine what you're going through, but you had us worried sick.”

Role assigned to: LucirynVO

Female.  Late 20s.  Quiet, mild-mannered, reserved.  A nurse by profession, Millenia is always quick to take care of others (like a big sister).  She enlisted in the army with the hope of locating her husband, declared Missing in Action after a previous engagement with the Empire.  She attempts to keep a strong front before her friends; with every passing day, the sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach grows more intense.  The "black dog" of despair is unfortunately a constant companion.

Voice type: medium-high.  Slightly delicate and fragile, as if the wrong words will break her.

  • “Good morning.  I got some medicine from the sick bay.  I had a feeling you'd be under the weather.  Here, drink up.  It'll help”

  • “(frantic, not thinking straight)  Sir, are you sure...?  Is it true?  No, I don't believe it... (sobbing and emotionally broken)  I can't... That's not even... it's not possible!”

  • “(grateful) You two risked your lives for me.  I can't let that be for nothing now, can I?”

Role assigned to: potatotan

Female.  Early 20s.  Being sociable and enjoying alcohol a bit too much results in being too loquacious for her own good; her inability to know when to keep her mouth shut gets her trouble, especially from Brittany.  She often frets about her love life and her future; all these doubts and worries spill out of her with even a single glass of wine.  Though struggling to find love in a man, she no doubt loves her girlfriends Brittany and Millenia.  If Millenia was male, she would be head over heels.

Voice type: medium-high.  Everyone is her best friend – especially when inebriated.

  • “(tipsy) Guess what my parents said in the last letter they sent me?  (mocking) “When are we getting grandchildren?” Thanks, Mom!  Like I wanna stay single... ugh, I'm gonna die alone!”

  • “(tipsy)  Ah, you're so nice, and gentle, and pretty... Millie, will you marry me?”

  • “Screw Mr. Wonderful, I'm gonna look for Mr. Right!  And this time, I mean it!”

Role assigned to: Gingersid

Male.  Early 20s.  Tank Commander and leader of Squad E.  Optimistic in the face of danger, Claude must balance the needs of his comrades versus that of the mission – a lot of responsibility for someone so young, but he is up to the task. Main character of VC4 but plays a minor role in the Squad Stories, mainly to set them into motion.  Has one single line in Legacies Left - and not many more in All the Single Ladies.

Voice type: medium-high.  Just your average early 20s man.

Note: We are dubbing more Squad Stories in the future.  If you would like to return in the future as this character, let us know by leaving a comment when submitting your audition.  Casting preference will be those who indicate interest in reprising their role in future episodes.

  • “Off on his own again... I get the feeling he's intentionally keeping his distance.”

  • (telling a comrade her husband has been found KIA)  "I'm sorry, but...yes.  I got the notice from HQ this morning.  They confirmed it from his personal effects,  He, uh... had a photo of you on him."

Role assigned to: SageD

Female.  Early 20s.  Recurring role. Childhood friend of Claude Wallace; though her friendship with Claude is strained due to a personal tragedy, she remains as cordial as professionalism permits in the Federation Army.  She has brains and beauty in equal measure; as a proud science officer and STEM graduate, she wishes to carry on her father's legacy by devoting herself to engineering and mechanics.  A major character in VC4 but plays a minor role in several of the Squad Stories, mainly to bring additional flavor to the conversations.

Voice type: medium-high.  Optimistic but not to the point of sounding unnatural and annoying.  Can usually be found with a smile on her face – she is happiest when there's a wrench in her hand and streaks of oil on her face.  Considered somewhat of a tomboy by her comrades, she still retains her femininity.

NOTE:  Riley is a recurring character.  If you would like to return as this character, let us know by leaving a comment when submitting your audition.  Casting preference will be those who indicate interest in reprising their roles in future episodes.

  • Oh, Eileen, I've got just a quick question about our equipment...

  • (another episode; unsure if a trio of “problem soldiers” have learned their lesson)  Uh, Claude...? You put them through rehab, didn't you?  Is that what you call rehabilitated?

Role assigned to: Krynur

Male. Early 20s.  Recurring role.  Childhood bully turned friend of Claude Wallace, after his former mark earned his respect with his leadership in basic training.  Once bitter rivals, the two are now inseparable best buddies.  Living for the thrill of combat as the “mad dog” of the squad, Raz is the most fearsome trooper in Squad E's ranks.  Competitive to a fault and an infamous womanizer.  While he isn't a chauvinist, he still lives life by The Three B's – boobs, beer, and bacon.  Crass and vulgar on the surface, there dwells a sense of honor and inner beauty beneath the beast.  A major character in VC4 but plays a minor role in several of the Squad Stories, mainly to bring additional flavor to the conversations.

Voice type: medium/medium-high.  Thrill seeker and simply can't control himself when there is glory to be won.  Though he believes he is God's gift to women, his flirting often results in getting a punch to the face.  Curses on occasion – if this is an issue, let me know with a comment on your audition.

NOTE:  Raz is a recurring character.  If you would like to return as this character, let us know by leaving a comment when submitting your audition.  Casting preference will be those who indicate interest in reprising their roles in future episodes.

  •  Hey, Eileen, you got a sec?  Need a hand over here!

  •  (another episode; wincing in pain, after losing an arm wrestling contest)  Gah!  Damn it, I lost again!  What's your win streak now?!

Role assigned to: LucirynVO

Female.  Early 20s.  Former commanding officer of Squad F; along with Ronald, unwillingly folded into Squad E and holds similar feelings of resentment (especially towards her rival Claude).  More strict than Claude, she instills a fierce sense of loyalty with her conviction, and her soldiers were willing to follow her to the depths of hell – even willing to lose their lives in the process. She plays a minor role as Ronald's foil in this particular sub-episode.

Voice type: Medium/medium-high.  Authoritative presence and tone.  Definitely not a pushover but also capable of showing emotion when put under stress.

Note: We are dubbing more Squad Stories in the future.  If you would like to return in the future as this character, let us know by leaving a comment when submitting your audition. Casting preference will be those who indicate interest in reprising their role in future episodes.

  • “No... I may never forgive them for what they've done... least of all, Claude.  But right now we have a job to do.  A lot of people died to get us here, so we need to keep fighting in their place.”

  • “When I pull that trigger, I do it for everyone I've lost.  For the friends I've left behind.  That's all that matters to me right now.”

Female.  Early 20s.  The official medic of Squad E.  Kind and caring, always looking out for her fellow squadmates and their well-being – physically and emotionally.  Unflappable in the heat of battle, there is little that ruffles her feathers; no matter the situation, she is very rarely caught off guard.  Has an overall gently disposition that brings a smile to even the most battle-hardened veterans.  Plans to attend medical school after the war.

Voice type: medium-high/high.  Sweet and nurturing like a big sister.

NOTE: Karen is a recurring character.  If you would like to return in the future as this character, let me know by leaving a comment when submitting your audition.  Casting preference will be those who indicate interest in reprising their role in future episodes.
