This is a re-cast expansion of my Under Night In-Birth fandub project.
If you haven't had a chance to audition for the characters you wanted during my previous casting call for this project, now it's the time to do so. I've recently lost some good people during the course of the project, and now there are some roles that needs to be filled. Also, there were still a couple of roles that were still available in my previous casting call. So guys, don't let this opportunity go down the drain. Audition and show me your skills in actions. There will be several characters to choose from, so make it happen.
Some of the playable characters do have official English voice clips from BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle. So before you start doing your auditions, make sure you listen to those examples first.
For the auditions, you'll be saying a couple of lines from the new chronicle mode. There will be examples for each character so you'll have an idea on what kind voice you'll be delivering, so listen to them carefully. And once you got an idea on how to perform the line, then mix it up with a bit of your own style to the original version.

Voice Actor: Kyle McCarley (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-t4_mAB3mU8)
Hyde is the main protagonist of Under Night In-Birth. A second-year high school student who was attacked by a Void on his walk back home from school. His life was saved by Linne, a strange girl he encountered a few days earlier. Having awakened as an In-Birth, he is taken under Linne's wing and begins training under her and her companion Waldstein, preparing himself for when the Hollow Night comes again. His association with Linne quickly earns him a reputation out in the night as the Unknown Actor, and later gains further notoriety by his possession of a particular blade. In his regular life, he is close friends with Orie, a childhood friend to Yuzuriha, and unknowningly becomes a rival to Seth.
Straight-forward and strong-willed, Hyde is an individual who gives his all to any challenge before him and doesn't back down from a fight. Although normally cool-headed, he has a cocky and reckless side to him and tends to head into extremely dangerous situations. Hyde has stated that he has no desire for power and only wants to live his life like a normal person.
Hyde is someone who greatly values his friends and comrades. Although he is capable of using Insulator to kill Linne, he decides to postpone doing so as he feels that she has much more to teach him. He was also hesitant to fight Orie due to the positive relationship they have and offers Vatista a place to stay until she completes her mission.
"I can't believe that "Hollow Night" thing is actually just around the corner... It's been about a month since I met Linne and gained these powers. It all feels like yesterday... Well, it wasn't even that long ago." |
"Well, it's not like your name's a secret or anything. You think I'm scared of you, but I really don't know who or what Paradox did to merit that." |
"Ugh, yeah, totally uncool... I picked up the pace, but not enough to look desperate. More like a confident stride. All that effort I put to get into the manor was for nothing. I walked my way out without a single problem. I did pass some guys along the way, but instead of chasing me, they just walked on by as if nothing happened." |
Voice Actress: Sarah Anne Williams (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_OhwDJvlHk)
Linne is the main heroine of Under Night In-Birth. The Princess of Night Blade, who saved Hyde when he was attacked by a Void. During the schism within the Night Blade, one of the village elders decided to hide away the knowledge of EXS and divide it within two individuals, Kuon and his sister Linne. While Kuon volunteered, Linne did not and a seal was laid on her soul, turning it immortal. Because of this, Linne is unable to truly die as she awakens in the body of a random girl wherever her current body fails her. For over two hundred years, she has traveled across Japan with her companion and guardian, Waldstein, investigating the Hollow Nights and searching for a means to permanently end her life.. She now currently takes residence in Hyde's home waiting for the next Hollow Night.
Linne's a stoic, aloof, and independent girl who tends to try resolving matters on her own regardless of how dangerous the situation is.
"Toys were something I never associated myself with. But looking at them up close makes me appreciate how much this country has changed throughout history. Now toys can light up, dance, and fly. Candies are sweet and affordable, with countless varieties to be found. This generation is truly lucky to... Hm?" |
"I'm not letting you get away with this! I will make sure you will never do such a thing again! I will punish you right here, right now!" |
"I reached down to wake Hyde up. I brought his arm around my shoulder and raised him up. He was partially awake, and he slowly moved his legs, trying to keep his balance. I wasn't very tall, so he was huge from my perspective. I dragged him along as best as I could, but he was too heavy for my size..." |
Voice Actor: Keith Silverstein (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWiGCix-kz8)
Waldstein is a member of the Night Blade who lives eternal life within a body that looks like a monster and serves and protects Linne. Formerly a high-ranking member of Licht Kreis and a personal friend to its leader Adelheit, Waldstein was sent to fight against the Night Blade where he dueled Kuon in single combat. Waldstein was defeated but when he made contact with Kuon's massive reservoir of EXS, he began to transform into a Void. Kuon was able to save him and out of gratitude, Waldstein swore his loyalities to him and sent back the army of Licht Kreis as his last order. Kuon soon departed from his home and entrusted Waldstein to protect his younger sister Linne and the duo soon departed as well and they have been traveling together since.
Having been in countless battles, Waldstein enjoys fighting skilled opponents and is always prepared to accept a challenge. However, he appears to be rather absent-minded as he openly stated to Gordeau that he was serving as a distraction while Linne and Hyde were heading to Paradox and wasn't aware of the implications of doing so until Gordeau explained it to him.
Despite Waldstein's hunger for battle, he has a softer and compassionate side to him, especially towards Linne. He is extremely loyal to her, following her orders without question and worrying about her well-being. He also spares Hilda's life to "return the favor" for sparing Linne's.
"Hmph... I'm walking down a mountain path. You can't be complaining so much. To carry you swiftly and smoothly. That's impossible no matter how talented of a beast you may be." |
"It is a bit too late to fall like that in misery! So that's your excuse for why you were caught by Paradox?! You could have died back there! Learn to hold your fangs, fool!" |
"Upon reuniting with the Princess, we discuss the day's findings. That's how we always did it. But before that, she will always suggest to go eat since she's hungry. It's been a while since we got to town. We want to splurge so we go to a restaurant that serves meat. It was an unattractive restaurant right near the park. It is fine... It doesn't have to be a fancy restaurant. It's not the taste that matters, but the quantity." |
Voice Actor: Greg Chun (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeBikCUfimo)
Carmine is a prolific in-birth who is not affiliated with any organization out in the Hollow Night despite many expressing interests in his talents. Carmine is out in the night for the simple thrill of showing off his abilities and reveling in the wanton violence that the night sanctions. He is a third-year at Hyde's high school and the name Carmine is apparently something he picked up instead of being his actual name.
After he awakened to his powers as an In-Birth, he has been living just for fighting. However, Carmine is also well aware of the conflict between Licht Kreis and Amnesia even though he hasn't joined any organization.
Carmine's most prominent trait is his thirst for violence. Cruel, sadistic, foul-mouthed, short-tempered, and prone to maniacal laughter, Carmine is very proud of his ability and doesn't hesitate to use it to inflict as much pain as possible to anyone who "pisses [him] off". He will, however, not administer the killing blow if his anger is sated shown with both Hyde and Hilda in his story.
He is aware of Licht Kreis and Amnesia, possibly showing some hidden insight; yet doesn't care for either of them. To Carmine, all that matters is killing those that irritate him.
"...God damn, I'm so bored. All this fighting with just small fry. I can't believe they're not tired of this, night after night. Well, guess they're not different compared to me on that point. Ahahaha..." |
"So Mr. "normal guy". You said you just wanted to come by to see what's goin' on. Now that you have, how about you get lost...? If you're gonna stay standing around in my sight, then I might just have to knock you out of it..." |
"After that, we chatted about more pointless stuff. Being friendly... *Sigh* it's disgusting... You'd see it in an instant, but this guy's an idiot who's really good at talking. Though, he's the type that could be among my friends... er, acquaintances." |
Voice Actress: Erica Mendez (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDT9dWNpXHY)
Orie is a Rank Five Executor of Licht Kreis, an organization specializing in Void extermination underneath their public, philanthropic image. She lost her parents at a young age to a Void and was brought into the organization where she devoted herself to Licht Kreis' cause to ensure no one else has to suffer the same loss. Her position as an Executor has her out in the night to pacify violent in-births and slay any voids she encounters. She leads her squad consisting of herself, Mika, Kaguya, and Lex who were all sent to Japan to investigate the city of Kanzakai and its recent rise of in-birth activity. Outside of her life as an Executor, she is a second year high-school student and Hyde's friend.
She's a kind-hearted young woman with a strong sense of justice. Having been rescued and trained to be able to fight Voids,
Orie is extremely loyal to Licht Kreis and fights to uphold the peace and order that it brings to the world. However, although Orie does not doubt the intentions of the organization, she can't help but feel that Licht Kreis may not be as noble as she believed due to the extremely questionable actions of some of her fellow members, particularly Erika Wagner.
“Yeah, I suppose so. Behind the organization of justice is a group made up of girls who go on monster hunts… I was just thinking about what not to talk about at the school.” |
“Your strength. Your position as the Sword. Of course I understand that. However, cutting down all that come across will only lead you to a burnt field. I’m sure even you understand that is a problem. Risking your life in battle. Knowing that pity will lead to death. I understand that harsh action must be made at times. However, you did overdo it just a bit with the incident a few days ago… At this rate, you…no, we of Licht Kreis would likely be considered a grim reaper of the night that kills anyone in sight. Your name, the Wagner lineage. And the fear over its future. Not only that, but for Licht Kreis, for justice…” |
"Licht Kreis’s actual mission was to control and restrain the manifestations that appeared in the Hollow Night, and punished those who abused the power of EXS. An organization comprised solely of women. Those who gained the power of EXS were called In-births. People, myself included, gained superhuman powers of EXS… There wasn’t much difference in the number of male and female power-wielders. That being said, Licht Kreis was comprised of females. It could be just a theory, but EXS was seen to be stronger in women who were more emotionally sensitive. That could be one of the reasons. Other than that, I’ve also heard rumors going around that the leader of the group, Adelheid, wasn’t good with men, making it a completely female space. I did try and confirm this from within the organization, and it seemed it wasn’t too far from the truth." |
Voice Actor: Ian Sinclair (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9Ux7C8Tp14)
Gordeau is an incredibly powerful In-Birth and an ex-member/one of the founders of Amnesia, an organization that aims to bring more freedom into the Hollow Night. Orignally known as the "Harvester of Greed". Gordeau left the organization after his friend, Roger, transformed into a Void and was cut down soon afterwards by Erika Wagner, the Crimson Knight and one of Licht Kreis' more volatile members. Since then, he has been hunting his friend's killer out in the night while still being in contact with his allies in Amnesia. On regular nights he works as a simple bartender in a seedier side of town.
He has a very laid-back and carefree demeanor, rarely letting anything bother him and occasionally cracking jokes at others' expense, though even he has his limits when it comes to patience with unreasonable people.
Although he has defected from Amnesia, he still cares for his comrades and is willing to put himself in harm's way for their sake. It is this loyalty that led to him to personally hunt down the Crimson Knight to avenge Roger (formerly known as Bob), whom she had ruthlessly killed after he turned into a Void.
“Heh… That good-for-nothing bastard. By then, the place was pretty much like my home. I knew what they carried and where everything was, but I wasn’t a businessman, either. I was worried about whether I could properly maintain it, but… Once you get into it, it’s actually kind of fun.” |
“All the Wielders around here and the new powers… This is the battle for a place at the top. It’s not supposed to be orderly… Hmm. Which way should I head to meet up with everyone…” |
"A few days had passed since that battle. I recovered physically to the point that I felt almost normal. I didn’t have many injuries, and they didn’t affect my life or work. But there was only one problem in my mind. It was Roger… He turned into a Void, was defeated, and disappeared somewhere. I couldn’t accept it, and kept wishing it was all a dream. But then again, I didn’t find myself sad, which was odd. I didn’t even cry. I was such a cold person… The hazy end. That was the only thing that was unclear." |
Voice Actor: Benjamin Diskin (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONQJhDaOFyY)
Merkava is a Void driven by instinct to consume EXS. Unlike most others of his kind, Merkava is sentient, and is able to convey human thoughts. Merkava is thought to have once been a person who experimented with EXS to become a Re-Birth which failed horribly and turned into what he is now, but nothing is certain as he has no recollection of what he truly was. He is also thought to be the void responsible for the deaths of Orie's parents.
Like all Voids, Merkava has the desire to consume EXS and does not seem to try resisting it.
However, he appears to still retain some fragments of his humanity. He genuinely thanks those who try to reason with him as if he was still human and respects those who are unafraid of him, although he dislikes those who gawk at him.
"I arrive into the mountains seeking solace from people. A land where wild animals still freely roam. The air is cool and crisp. The stars brilliant amid the night sky. The place lacks excitement, but the location is hospitable." |
"Let me ask you about the occurrences within this area. I have seen Voids consuming and creating a great amount of In-births. Do you know anything about this?" |
"Days living as a beast has given me the opportunity to gain control of my body. Slowly, but surely, I have been taming the beast that is me. Even so, control is a mere pulling of directions between me and the beast. No... If wanted, the beast could easily pull in its direction. My control is akin to that of a leash on a puppy that is me." |
Voice Actress: Xanthe Huynh (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjfRKeXD8TU)
Vatista is an ancient humanoid weapon, known as an Autonomic Nerve, awoken by the recent increase in In-Birth and EXS. While she does not explicitly remember it, she was involved with the conflict between the Night Blade and Licht Kreis during the days of Kuon.
Due to her origin as an Autonomic Nerve, Vatista possesses little desire beyond completing her mission. While her mission dictates that she must kill Voids and cull the In-Birth population, there are times where she will show mercy to those she is meant to kill and occasionally shows genuine emotions. Comically, she seems to lack what most people would consider common sense, having difficulty understanding the concept of clothing when Hyde tried to explain and not understanding the implications of standing in a single public spot for an entire month. The former would later become a recurring joke in the story whenever a second female character is involved, with Vatista asking Hyde if he forced the girl to wear clothes as well.
“So, you have finally come… The one who opened the gate. As you have placed your hand upon this heavy door and pushed, let me tell you of these memories, eternal through time. The story of what led to the Hollow Night. But before that, I will first introduce the person who stands before you now. I am the Autonomic Nerve, Vatista. A subroutine that exists primarily in dormancy.” |
“Those who are wise. Those far away, who peer into the Abyss. Those who are insatiable for knowledge. It seems to me their preparations, their data, and their knowledge are still far from enough. However, to tell of everything would require a vast amount of time… The time I have is limited, as well. And there is a line that I must not cross as a spectator.” |
"Long ago, there was a small, peaceful village, far from any civilization. They all lived a frugal, if somewhat poor, life there. A life no one could now live in, but it was a life of peace. Then one day, a man appeared. The man, covered in filth, called himself the “Hollow God”. Despite not having had a meal in days, he only asked for food once. He had nothing of value to trade or pay with, and made it known to the villagers as well." |
Voice Actor: Mark Whitten (https://youtu.be/qtcj00AVmQA?t=119)
Seth is an assassin out in the night with particular interest in the Princess of the Night Blade. Seth's ancestral lineage dates back to the schism that occurred within the Night Blade organization and he is the descendant of the moderate faction that sought to keep their teachings hidden and obscure their abilities as much as possible. This group operates to this day in upholding the ancient ways of the Night Blade and Seth's position as one of the head family's successors has him reluctantly carry out his family's wishes to watch over the night. It is revealed that he met Linne 10 years prior to the story and pitied her tortured existence over the centuries. He swore to her that he would save her from her curse but he was powerless to do anything in the decade that passed. A glimmer of hope to rekindle his promise appears to him and he heads out into the night to finally set things right to his promise and free Linne of her curse. Despite his status as Hyde's rival and his notable proficiency in his profession as an assassin, he is only a first-year in high school.
He's an extremely serious individual and never shows any emotion beyond stoicism. Although his cold attitude may come off as insensitive, he is greatly burdened by the mistakes of his ancestor and feels that if he fulfills Linne's wish for death, he can redeem his family name and free himself of the past. In Yuzuriha's story, her optimistic way of life despite her family's history briefly causes Seth to question his path and his individuality.
"It must be coincidence that there aren't many people here. It makes this no different than a walk in the park. A walk in the night breeze may be comforting, but... Too bad... I'm still too young to appreciate such fine moments." |
"I don't like the idea of following orders from you, but I will accept this deal. Until the time comes, I will work for you as a faithful dog." |
"One needed to keep a keen sense of the surrounding area. Many lost their sense of where the Night ended and the human world began. It was evidence of how often the various levels of Night appeared. To a degree, one might say the unstable amount of EXS brought about a sense of the Night at all times. I was walking alone amid such a Night. Or, so I thought..." |
Voice Actress: Erica Lindbeck (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzunnpqSU0w)
Yuzuriha is a sword-wielding girl whose family descends from the original members of the Night Blade. During the organization's schism, her ancestors insisted on reforming their ways and strive to strengthen their abilities to fend themselves from outsiders and soon left her kind and established their own ancestral home. As part of the influential and traditional Sougetsu Family, Yuzuriha is the current upholder of her family's tradition of being the "Guardian" of the land, and she patrols the night to kill voids and break up fights. While this position was formally meant to be upheld by her older sister, the latter quit on her first night on the job and the role was given to Yuzuriha instead. Trained in her family's ancient blade drawing techniques, Yuzuriha, while friendly and easygoing, is widely feared out in the night.
She's a very cheerful and carefree, acting like anything that goes on around her doesn't seem to bother her. She affectionately refers to her sword as "Ayame" and her smartphone as "Felia". She is also someone who doesn't hold very serious grudges, having already forgiven Hyde for his actions in the past and tells Hilda to rethink her decision on becoming a Re-Birth.
Despite her seemingly happy-go-lucky attitude, Yuzuriha possesses a serious and realistic side to her. Since obtaining her sword, she has taken it upon herself to be the guardian of the city and killing any Void she encounters and admits that her abilities are far from being perfected. When encountering Hilda, she states that carrying an unconscious Hyde and Linne would be more troublesome than fighting Hilda herself, showing a bold and cocky side to her personality as well.
“Wait a second! You’re one to talk about duty! You, the one who gave up right after taking the position! I do have it tough, you know, so give me a hand once in a while!” |
“I’m sure pleeenty of cute girls will come into your life. So just forget about me, or something like that. Ahahaha… But if Hyde is plotting something evil with his power, then I won’t just be merciless toward him, I’ll straighten him out more than I normally would, so I hope he’s ready!” |
"Long, long, long ago, there were a series of tragic events around here, and the people started claiming it must be the work of an evil spirit, and the place became a bit somber, I hear. That’s when we smithed our sacred sword at a nearby blacksmith, and passed it down from generation to generation, the Ayamegatana Kamijinohamre. Ayame for short! Bam! Strangely, after that, the incidents suddenly stopped occurring. Those things really do as they please, don’t they? It’s not like the sword was protecting everyone from the evil spirits. Everyone just thought that the gods were protecting us. That they were chasing off the evil here. Well, I guess it technically is none other than divine work in the end." |
Voice Actress: Allegra Clark (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E69HyEfZBz0)
Hilda is the extravagant and haughty diva who leads the organization known as Amnesia. She seeks to bring down the old-customs regarding the Hollow Night being watched over by Licht Kreis and ascend to become a Re-Birth, an existence surpassing that of an In-Birth. While she is the boss of the organization, she is respected by her colleagues purely because of her wealth and abilities, not so much for her own intelligence. She found the organization with Gordeau, Roger, and Chaos who joined soon after.
She's very pompous, arrogant, vain, ambitious, and insists that others should either serve under her or suffer the consequences and swears revenge on those who defeat her. Several characters have stated that she isn't very intelligent.
Hilda appears to have a positive relationship with her subordinates both past and present. She has nothing but the utmost respect for Chaos due to how useful his intellect and careful planning is and supposedly has tried multiple times to invite him for social calls. Despite Gordeau having left Amnesia, she still considers him a friend and asks him to come back, promising that she will also hunt down the Crimson Knight with him.
"Now what's with the cold shoulder, Gordeau? Enkidu is a bit too serious for my tastes, and Chaos wouldn't move a muscle in the name of labor." |
"No one can defeat me. No can stop Paradox. Never. Heh, heh... Heh, Heh, heh... Ahahahaha! How delightful!" |
"We have the actors and actresses, and the stage is set. Nothing anyone does will stop this play from opening." |

Chaos is the brains behind Amnesia's activities and its de-facto second in command as its operations officer. He was recruited into Amnesia shortly after his transformation into an in-birth when Gordeau invited him. While frequently called a shut-in and an over-thinking brainiac, Chaos has helped Amnesia tremendously with his insight. With Roger's death however, Chaos temporarily diverts his attention to helping Gordeau track down Wagner, the Crimson Knight of Licht Kreis, while also doubling down in helping Hilda achieve her goals of becoming a re-birth. Before joining Amnesia, he was somewhat infamous for being a stubborn, yet incredibly powerful fighter who relied on pure strength, under the nickname of "Bloody Chaos". While generally friendly and proactive to his allies, he has a habit of looking down upon those he considers less intelligent than he is.
He appears to have a cool, calm and calculating attitude under normal circumstances. Being a general tactician, he tends to overanalyze even the simplest of situations and doesn't view himself as a strong warrior, and as such, hopes he doesn't run any enemies that'll pose a threat to him in battle. Despite this, he shown to be quite fearless, noted by Carmine and shown by Chaos when he confronted Merkava alone.
He tends to worry about Gordeau and his rather headstrong outlook to the point that Gordeau tends to tease him about it. Chaos also tends to be very superstitious, holds himself in extremely high regard and talks down to others, acting out on his own agenda without regard from anyone else (other than Gordeau and Hilda, of course).
Despite working for Amnesia, after Gordeau defects from the organization, Chaos secretly assists Gordeau from the shadows. It was said in his profile that Chaos was once a trouble-making delinquent, who used only brute force to fight, until he redeemed himself and eventually resorts to intelligent-tactical combat.
“Hey, can you hear me?! Aji D’haka, who’s sealed in this code. Pull yourself, and come out! And then, lend me your strength!” |
“…I should’ve expected as much from an Executor of Licht Kreis. This won’t end so easily. However, I’ve fulfilled my objective. I just need to get past you. Goodbye, Miss. I’ll take my leave with this, tonight. Well, as for the result of our match, I don’t mind if it’s considered a draw.” |
"A red moon, strange strange shadow, and an unusual space. The Voids that appears with the coming of the Hollow Night. The In-births that gather, seeking more power. People laugh at how ridiculous they think the rumors are, then find themselves wandering into the Night. Survival of the fittest. A world simply where only the strong rule…" |

Nanase is a middle school student that heard rumors of the Hollow Night and decided to investigate the claims with her friend, while having a slight misunderstanding of the context of what the Hollow Night actually involved. She accidentally runs into Hyde where the latter thought she was Hilda and ensuing commotion of their meeting caused a Void to bite Nanase. Hyde dispatches the void and saves Nanase's life and leaves her in the park after she regains consciousness. Since then, Nanase is strangely infuriated by her transformation into an in-birth and hunts Hyde with a notable passion that quickly earned her a reputation out in the night.
She has a tendency to jump to conclusions and doesn't consider alternate possibilities, such as the Void that bit her being the reason she's an In-Birth instead of Hyde (who in reality had saved her life) and, due to her lack of information, thinks that Hyde is also responsible for others' abilities. When distressed, she tends to have a poor choice of words when expressing it that result in double entendres, causing those around her to think she's talking about her sexual history.
"Huh?! The screen isn't turning on. Did it run out of battery? Huh? You gotta be kidding me! Of all the times... Ugh! Stupid crappy junky cell phone!" |
"Pipe down? Trouble?! I knew it! You're an evil weirdo! The worst of the worst! Heeelp... Mrmh?! *Muffled noises* Shtof it, yuh wheirdu! (Stop it, you weirdo!)" |
"I was a bit boyish until I hit middle-school. Hey, I said "boyish." Not "boy." It wasn't like I wanted to be like a boy or anything. It was just everyone else thought I was boyish. Super rude, right?" |

Ladies, you can also audition for this character.
Voice Clip Example: https://youtu.be/PD_fVSxGS80?t=7
Byakuya is a mysterious young man who appears alongside his "sister", Tsukuyomi, during the Hollow Night in search of something or someone she's lost. His only true purpose within the night is to aid his sister in any way he can, which usually involves sinking his claws into unwary victims.
When it comes to Tsukuyomi and the others similar to her in appearance, Byakuya is very affectionate. He makes sure to go out of his way to ensure that everything is going well for his sister and shows willingness to put everything on the line to ensure that his sister's search for her lost friend bears fruit.
Byakuya approaches prospective opponents with with no perceivable animosity, only to goad and provoke them until his target wants nothing more but to fight him. He seems to draw a great amount of amusement from tormenting others, especially those who would interfere with him and Strix. However he does sometimes try to reason with opponents, as seen in his encounter with Hyde.
After his sister's untimely death, Byakuya carries a guilt complex and becomes a lot more cold, showing little emotion; though on the other hand, he can also fly into a rage whenever something annoys him, such as when the loud bustling of the city causes him to scream and shout to the point of visible exhaustion.
Byakuya is also incredibly protective of his sister and if anyone should bring harm to her, he will promise that the person who did harm her is killed by his hand.
“Wow, these look great. They’re so pretty, it seems like it’d be a waste to eat them.” |
“N-No… Sis. It’s dangerous to go alone. I’ll go with you, even with all this stuff. If not, it’d be better to just go tomorrow morning.” |
"Sister… What… What should I do? How should I go on living? I’d never known a world without her could be so lonely, so meaningless. I wasn’t serious about anything, unlike her. School, learning, a social life. All of it was tiring to me. I didn’t want to deal with anything like. I didn’t want a tiring existence. Still, the days I spent with her were fun." |

She's a non-playable character. However, most of the time, she is mostly by Byakuya's side. Keep in mind, ladies. If you audition for Strix, you are required to also do Tsukuyomi as well.
Strix is a mysterious young woman who was one of the co-leaders of the now disbanded Bankikai and was the second-in-command to Ogre, the faction's leader. However, a turn of events ended up with her losing her powers, Ogre dying and her friend Zohar going mad.
Nowadays, she goes by the name of Tsukuyomi and is now being tagged along by Byakuya, who believes her to be the reincarnation of his late-sister under the same name.
"Zohar... You can tell how this area is filled with EXS, right? So let's hurry and get you out of here, quick." |
"Yes, I'm not strong enough to fight here. Well, I was able to hold my ground before, but things happened... I just can't fight in my current state now." |
"Byakuya's offer is very good, of course, it would have been better if he wasn't this broken. I needed someone to guard me while I traverse the Night, especially when I don't have the power to protect myself. I needed somone skilled and strong. Someone who would protect me without reason. He fits the bill, and I have no reason to refuse his offer, but..." |

Phonon is a senior middle-schooler and Nanase's upperclassmen, Phonon (real name: Yoshiko) was entranced by the rumors of the Hollow Night and sought after gaining abilities for herself. After an encounter with a void and barely escaping with her life, she was soon approached by the student vigilante group known as the EFG who helped inform and train students like her that became in-births. Overjoyed with the fact that the rumors were true, she reluctantly joins the EFG while secretly wishing to simply use her abilities for herself. She heads out into the night to find her true self and play around with her abilities.
Most of the time, Phonon seems very wise-cracking and quick to look down on other people through a harsh and demeaning front. During the Hollow Night, she is forcing herself to act like dominatrix and this sometimes leads to awkward situations.
"I guess I'm kind of like those heroines who awaken to special powers one day. I'm an In-birth, or whatever they're called... It'd be such a waste if I couldn't use these cool powers for my own benefit. Well, I guess it's time for me to kill some Voids while I'm at it." |
"Sh-Shut up! I... I... um... Yeah! I'm a domineering S&M queen! I'm oppressive and elegant... O-hohoho! That's how a lady's supposed to laugh! If you say anything more, then I'll whip you! With my whip!" |
"D-Don't call me by that name! I-I'm Phonon! Phonon, the Chemeti... Ph...Phon...Phonon!" |

Mika is a 10th Rank Executor of Licht Kreis, Mika is the muscle of Orie's Execution Team. When all three of her squad-mates are sent to Japan to investigate the alarming rate of In-birth activity, Mika is left behind to remain in Licht Kreis' headquarters until she passes her qualifications. Sensing an urgency to reunite with her friends, Mika runs away from HQ and has a rather eventful trip to Japan to aid her friends.
Mika is a very spunky and cheerful young girl who greatly looks up to her friends and superiors. She is also very hyperactive and will frequently pepper her speech with sudden and, more often than not, completely unrelated remarks and comments, her most common trait being her ending her sentences in "Yuu". Mika has also proven herself to be extremely gullible, most likely brought about by her low intelligence.
Despite all of this, Mika is very immature and will react to certain situations in a very childish manner. Should she not get her own way, she will throw a tantrum worthy of a toddler and most likely damage something in the process.
"Aww... Guess I can't help it... I'm worried about Orecchiette fighting alone... I guess I could beat up my tired body and head on over to the fight, yuu... W-Wait for me, Orecchiette! I'm comin' to save you!" |
"AHAHAHA! Look at you blushing over this! That's what makes you a child, yuu. You try to be all adult and compete with me? That's so funny, yuu." |
"Myuu! Addy's angry, yuu?! She's gonna deport me, yuu! Back to living like a monk without any snacks, yuu! It's all over! I'm gonna starve, yuu! Death is always hanging out on my porch swing!" |

Erika is a member of Licht Kreis who is renowned for her prodigious abilities and brutality against her foes. Going by many titles such as the "Void Hunter" or the "Crimson Knight" Erika is widely known and feared by the Executors of Licht Kreis for her attitude and formidable strength. She is the highest ranking playable Executor of Licht Kreis, occupying the fourth seat that is just one above Orie. Whereas Orie was mostly sent with intentions to strengthen up and investigate the recent influx of in-births, Erika was sent under orders for eliminating particular in-births hiding in the city as well as experiencing life to broaden her horizons. Outside of work, she attends an all-girl's academy as a second-year student and currently under probation after committing yet another offense shortly before the series began.
She's notorious for disobeying orders and being extremely merciless against her foes. Going by many titles as the "Void Hunter" or the "Crimson Knight" Erika is widely known and feared by the Executors of Licht Kreis for her tenacious actions and formidable strength.
"Yes... This will be fitting. For I am the sword of Licht Kreis. The crimson blade that fears nothing in this world. I need only slash and burn, and bathe my body in blood. That is my true destiny." |
“I see. Sadly, your revenge will not be fulfilled on this Night. I had no intention of keeping the peace between us. I will hunt down every member of Amnesia, beginning with you. Once my flames erupt, I am sure you will not be able to hear me, so I will you now. Farewell.” |
“I will always obey my orders. I am the sword that swings to its master’s commands. To kill them is my joy. And this fool’s errand to find what I am “missing” is a waste of time. I will teach you, Adelheid. That what you and Licht Kreis need most… is me.” |

Enkidu is a muscular old member of Amnesia that was scouted out by Hilda after hearing of an In-birth who relied on his martial prowess over his EXS abilities. A skilled practitioner of his family's ancient martial arts, Enkidu deliberately got himself bitten by a Void so he could become an in-birth and battle Gordeau, the "strongest In-Birth" and reach a new plane of competition beyond normal humans. Enkidu's motivations stem from the death of his late mentor and his feeling of powerlessness to help him inspired him to pursue strength in all things. He hopes that in the end he'll find enlightenment through the pursuit of strength and come to absolve himself of his mistakes.
Most of the time, Enkidu tends to keep to himself and won't speak unless he feels like it is necessary. He is a stoic, calm individual who is completely and utterly diligent when it comes to fighting. Despite that, Enkidu can be very humble and gets along well with his fellow comrades, especially Gordeau and Chaos, the latter being a good friend of his. Enkidu can also be somewhat witty and likes to poke fun at both Hilda and apparently Gordeau from time to time. Despite his calm and reserved exterior, Enkidu's inner thoughts have shown that even he has his limits when it comes to dealing with Hilda.
Enkidu has also stated to be uncomfortable with social gatherings, believing that he stands out too much. He compares it to "Inviting a clown to a funeral".
In terms of combat, Enkidu becomes a lot louder and excited sounding during a fight and he treats the art of combat incredibly seriously. He has nothing but the utmost respect to those who show resolve in combat and will react gracefully even when losing.
"The smell of warfare. It must be on the command of fate that I have awoken now. My hope for this Night is to meet a powerful adversary upon whom I can unleash my all." |
"You're a Licht Kreis member? You may be young, but you have a strong sense of resolve in your eyes. What a shame. You are not at a level to be facing me. It's rather unfortunate to have to pass on this opportunity. Now go." |
"You were impressive, Hecatoncheir. I respect you lengthy service in this field. Yet, I am a little unsatisfied. For a man of your nature, your fists were dull. I sensed hesitation." |

Sion also known as Eltnum is a guest character originally from the Melty Blood franchise.
Sion is a mysterious, purple haired girl who appeared out of nowhere on one fateful Night. No one knows where she comes from, what her motivations are or why she is here. She claims to be the "mentor" to the In-Births of Kanzakai, but for all we know, she's just a bit loopy.
She is composed person who aims for perfection. But make her sound more annoyed and aggressive, makes for a more funny character. Sion likes throwing jokes which break the fourth wall.
"If you happen to have a copy of Melty Blood on hand, might I suggest you play it alongside this game to see how far technology has progressed? If you don't, then it sure would be nice if you could pick up a copy. I know I would appreciate it." |
"Interested in my origin story, are you? Not sure I'm allowed to say anything. If people find out I've been moonlighting, the royalty issues would be inconceivable chaos... I mean, bang, zoom! Straight to the moon for me." |
"How dare you ask me who I am?! I'm ten... No, a HUNDRED times more famous than you are! I've won countless tournaments AND have an infinite combo. I've been in the game, LITERALLY, for a decade now! And you ask me who I am? Ignorant rookies... I weep for the future..." |

Akatsuki is a guest character originally from Akatsuki Blitzkampf franchise.
Akatsuki is Japanese soldier who was thought to be long dead before the events of his game. He winds up within Kanzakai while travelling to Mount Fuji in a quest to destroy the Blitz Motors, powerful engines that give control over pure lightning. In order to get to Fuji, he needs to fight through the waves of In-Births that get in his way... And hopefully grab a bite to eat.
He is a calm and quiet man who prioritize his mission above anything else. He can be serious when the time needs it and will not hold back to any fighter, child or not. But despite it, he respects his foes enough to wish to encounter them next time as friends. He likes classic Japanese culture and also speaks in a very old fashioned way via his pronoun usage.
"Countless secrets we smuggled out the 3rd Reich as the war was ending... It was during our mission of transporting "The Blitz Motor", our secret weapon, that we were shot down over the Arctic Ocean." |
"Times have certainly changed. Our surroundings are unlike anything I remember. And don't worry about my head, though I could use a little shut-eye." |
"With no enemies on the horizon, it's safe to assume that boy was my final opponent. The oppressive atmosphere from before seems to have evaporated as well. Could it be over...?" |

Uzuki is a sub-leader of Amnesia who has a random chance of appearing at the end of Hilda's arcade scenario. She appears to dispose of Hyde and Linne, making sure to deliver a few insults aimed at her boss. Dialing it back a couple chronological months in Chronicle Mode, she's brought up as one of the potential recruits for Amnesia by Chaos when he discusses notable recruits for the group.
She's egoistic and doesn't care much about other people. Her train of thought is very simplistic and mainly acts according to the first gut feeling she has. Uzuki also holds herself in high regard, referring to herself as "Mighty".
She hates to be ordered around by anyone and will react with disdain when she's told to do anything, this is especially the case with Hilda, whom she refers to as "Idiotic Woman". She thinks that everyone aiming to become a Re-birth must be crazy.
"What in the hell- -?! How dare you presume to give orders to the mighty Uzuki! You ignorant wench. But since today is your special day… I suppose I can let you have the spotlight this once." |
"…Or let’s not. Something seems really off about her today. Well, she IS trying to become a Re-birth, after all… Don’t folks like her have a few screws loose?" |
"Let’s just hurry up and get this over with, Enkidu. It looks like our business here is finished, and I don’t want to stay here any longer than necessary…" |

Kuon is the main antagonist of the series. A mysterious, cloaked boy and Linne's older brother. He was the de-facto leader of the original group of villagers that made up the Night Blade when he led them into battle against the invading armies of Licht Kreis led by Waldstein. When in-fighting between the reformists and moderate factions began after the war, the village elder decided to hide the secret techniques of EXS and seal them within two of the villagers. Kuon volunteered himself and his sister to be the ones to bear this burden and Kuon obtained the secret art of Immortality onto his very body. On the other spectrum, Linne obtained the technique of Reincarnation onto her soul. Kuon soon left the village after this event as he thought that staying would only cause more trouble to an already splintering faction. His last act was leaving his sister under the protection of Waldstein, who had turned from Licht Kreis after Kuon had saved him from transforming into a void. He has traveled alone for the past 200 years and has recently resurfaced to carry out his plans.
Parts of Kuon's personality are only revealed by various characters in their arcade scenarios. It is mentioned how, in the past, he was a man of virtue and honor, having inspired Waldstein with his chivalry and being well-respected by many.
However, due to unknown circumstances, Kuon's personality appears to have taken a mysterious and possibly sinister turn, seemingly having severed ties to his former allies and manipulating Hilda into becoming his willing pawn and possibly discarding her when she was of no further use.
In Chronicle mode, he shows little to no emotion aside from the occasional chuckle, smirk or scowl.
"Too young? I don't think so. I've been living for quite a long time in the dark, so I'm very used to it. My soul is mired in the darkness. It is darkness itself." |
"Still, I do appreciate your concern. It would be horrible for me to not consider returning now. The time is ripe, as well." |
"Based on what I can see, this "situation" isn't very favorable. At this rate, we will have to become enemies. That is of grave concern to me." |

Azel is on the search for a mysterious jewel of an unknown purpose and his body is told to be special in some way. He also has a habit of losing some of his memories whenever he falls asleep. He isn't physically active and likes to evade all kind of trouble. Azel loves medieval stories about knights, and is aspiring to write such stories one day.
He is rather timid for a boy which causes misunderstandings about his gender. Neither Carmine or Gordeau could say for sure whether Azel was boy or girl, nor had they the guts to just straight-up ask Azel about his gender.
"I'm called Azel. It's nice to meet you." |
"That's too bad. You'd get it with a bit more practice. Probably. Though, I don't think you're the type that really picks up on details..." |

Lex is a member of Licht Kreis, a very good friend of Orie and part of her Executor Team. She isn't physically very strong, and instead specializes on information gathering, mechanics, communications and analyzing.
Lex is usually cool-headed and very thorough with her informative explanations. Her attitude when around Orie and other friends or workmates is slightly crude and she has a very dry sense of humor, she also has a habit of being somewhat rude towards whoever she is speaking to and often tends put her own work in front of other matters. Her speaking tone is pretty boyish. Her small chest is a very sensitive matter, and she will quickly become angry when the subject is brought up.
Lex tries her hardest to evade things she perceives as bothersome as much as possible and has shown herself to be somewhat lazy. Examples include getting involved with Lady Wagner and having to carry Londrekia's luggage around town. She also skipped the Executor Ranking Exam due to believing it to be a bother. Due to this, she lacks a proper rank and is referred as an "Out-Ranker".
"Ah, so you're the one everyone's talking about. My name is Lex. I'm currently acting as the liaise for Licht Kreis." |
“Don’t worry yourself over it. The higher-ups are trusting you with missions like these because they have high expectations of Orie Valadier, the 5th Executor of Licht Kreis.” |
“About half a year ago, it seems there was a mini-boom of In-births, and a portion of them realized the significance of their power, which led to them creating their own organizations. One, maybe two large ones. Fortunately, it seems like they haven’t made any huge movements as a group. The issue is something else… There are some who have been honing their strength at an alarming speed. It seems like someone by the name of Paradox is causing trouble on a daily basis.” |

Londrekia is a high ranking member of Ritter Schild, a branch and rival faction to Licht Kreis that was formed following Adelheit's decision to make Licht Kreis an all-female organization. He is encountered in Merkava's Chronicle Mode scenario where he was sent to investigate and eliminate a void with the ability to speak that was hiding in the mountainous areas of Kanzakai. Much like Licht Kreis' Wagner, Londrekia is a reputable Void hunter and he seems to have intentions to compete against her, stating that he'll be more than a match for her if he is able to deal with her flames.
Londrekia acts very cool-headed and mature. He analyzes the situation very carefully and is rarely caught off-guard. He is confident about his mettle in battle, but still likes to avoid battles whenever possible. Londrekia wears a white suit and a short-sleeved jacket on top of it. His uniform is decorated with few black belts and some golden buttons. Uniform has a black high-neck and around Londrekia's neck is a frilly, blue cravat with a Ritter Schild emblem.
"By the way, the name is "Londrekia". You can call me that here. What is... your name?" |
"Do not be mistaken, Void... Take one wrong move and I will seal you forever in a coffin with my power." |
"I see... It seemed the most likely that you were created after being consumed by EXS and turned into a Void. The difference is that you were able to somehow retain a bit of your humanity in the process." |

(This is Seth's younger self. He makes an appearance on his own chronicle story.)
Ladies, you can audition for this role. Just do your best with your young boy voice. Young Seth is a bit more quiet than his older self. Listen to the example to get an idea.
Voice Clip Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1AEJAkCLIY
"I just want to save her. I want to support her with my own hands, change her, and save her..." |
"I wanted to become strong. I want to protect the Princess of the Night Blade. I heard that the Princess was captured and was held by chains." |

Ogre was the leader and founder of a group of In-Births called Bankikai around six months before the actual story, With Strix and Zohar being his two friends and sub-leaders beneath. him. His real name is unknown. The organization was apparently growing fast enough to attract attention from both Amnesia and Licht Kreis and Ogre eventually did battle with Amnesia before unforeseen circumstances caused the group's disbanding and his own death.
Normally, he comes off at first as a cocky, headstrong and a bit of a ladies man who believes firmly in being able to freely use EXS. His slightly lecherous tendencies sometimes get the better of him such as when he talks about an organization of nothing but women. However, Ogre has shown himself to be completely selfless such as when he orders Strix to find Zohar and leave and when he sacrificed himself to save Gordeau from a transformed Roger.
"You can just call me Ogre, my lady. We're friends now, after all... And I'd like to know your name as well." |
"Right... But, before that, there's something that I've become curious about. I'd like to ask you something, considering that you're so knowledgeable about the Night. May I?" |

She can also be rather frightening at times due to her near permanent smile and has shown no qualms with getting into physical fights with the younger members. Murayama and Sakurai tend to Erika's needs and follow her around both in and out of the Hollow Night to keep her informed of her orders from headquarters as well as generally act as her friend and confidants to the public eye. While Murayama is a member of Licht Kreis proper, Sakurai is only working for the organization as per timed contract will allow her.
The two of them carry Erika's equipment but are only allowed to give them to her if Licht Kreis gives the order. While both are un-ranked as Executors, both are credited as being capable fighters, enough to be qualified as a Seventh and Sixth Rank Executors respectively if they took their examinations. Sakurai is noted to utilize a bow while Murayama is trained in multiple forms of martial arts.

"I remember a time when you remarked on challenging a ninja or a samurai to a sword battle. You did mention some old-fashioned things then..." |
"Both Amnesia and Bankikai are very skilled. We can predict a large-scale eruption and significant causalities. From our view of controlling the manifestations, that would be undesirable." |

On Line #2, she gets angry and on line #3, she goes crazy.
Zohar is a member of the long disbanded Bankikai following the death of its leader, Ogre. She was close friends with Strix, Ogre's second in command, but she secretly harboured a deep resentment for her friend, believing her to have made Ogre completely forget about her. However, she did keep her true feelings well hidden until one Night. During a turf war between Bankikai and Amnesia, she was driven too close to a large fluctuation of EXS, the same fluctuation that turned Gordeau's friend, Roger, into a Void. Here, Zohar lost the use of her left eye and had most of the left side of her body horrifically scarred, which ended up being the straw that broke the camel's back, driving her insane. She soon tracked down her friend and tried to murder her in a fit of rage before heading off to parts unknown. Whether or not she will make an appearance again remains a mystery.
Zohar normally comes off as a slightly moody, high voiced young woman who is almost always seen by Ogre's side and can be very excitable when it comes to food. She also had a long lasting friendship with fellow In-Birth, Strix. However, she has a hidden dark side. Secretly, Zohar harbours an immense and vicious hatred for her friend, spawned out of nothing but petty envy for Strix. However, she normally keeps this hidden away until she gets hit by a large EXS fluctuation.
After this happens, Zohar goes completely off the deep end and her emotions wildy swing from heartbroken to pure rage to mad cackling all within a few minutes. Her voice also becomes a lot more deeper in pitch.
"Don't worry. Even if he loses, it's not like she's going to kill him. This is no different from any sport out there. We're just having fun, that's all. There's no need to worry." |
"You! You changed the Bankikai! It's all because you had to awaken to your power! Everyone wanted that power! I lost my place! I have nothing now! Nothing!" |
"Ahahaha! I did it! I really did it! Orge's going to need a new right hand, and it'll be me! Me!" |
Voice Range: Mid-Range
(She's a minor character who makes an appearance on Mika's Chronicle Story.)
Ladies, for this character, you must say these lines as if you were making an announcement on an airplane. Also, your voice needs to sound like it's coming from an intercom.
