Project Overview

-This project is simply intended to provide voicelines for a companion mod for the Fallout series, namely, New Vegas. 


-There will be a hefty amount of lines, 40 or so, to account for all the dialogue and such. However, there is only one role, Two herself.



-Ignore the due date, we'll get around to submitting the lines when we get to it. However, it'd be nice if participants played, or at least had a basic knowledge of Fallout: New Vegas.


-Two is a experimental military-grade android that was built before the bombs dropped. Ever since, she has been wandering the wastes, searching for a new patron. However, everyone she finds suitable seems to want to kill on sight. The player can find her near Goodsprings, the starting area, and recruit her with a relatively easy speech check. Two is special, because she incorporates both android design, and a Robobrain, a robot with a human brain inside. While she doesn't really seem to remember her past self, she still retains her personality, which surfaces on occasion. Oh, and she also hates Chinese Communists.

  • Whoa...okay then m'dudes.

    A'ight. Originally, this was meant to be just really basic. Grab a few voicelines, done. Basic companion, no quests, no extra. It would've mere been meant for me to refamiliarize myself with the New Vegas GECK, the modding platform. HOWEVER. Due to the good response this thing seems to have had (all the auditions were very nice, friendos; I'm having trouble deciding!), I have decided to make this project slightly higher notch, which would also push back development time. This means, a quest, several voiced characters, and perhaps some custom items or something of the sort. I feel it would be nice to introduce the relatively complex backstory that I had envisioned for Two, telling it through an experience, instead of just boring old dialogue. And, as I seem to have wonderfully talented voice actors taking an interest, perhaps this can actually get somewhere. For now, I'll need to flatten somethings out, streamline the story and check with the the lore of New Vegas (it should be relatively lore friendly). So, for now, here's what I have. You already know Two, the android. When the player starts off in Goodsprings, if they look around enough, they'll find either a note or a voice-acted holotape (depending on time/coding restraints), of a seemingly innocent note speaking of a special delivery and a new "employee" who had been placed in a location in the Mohave, which will then lead to a quest, "Pre-War Hearts". The quest will lead them to a bartender, "Smiling Wally", who will give the player information of an old-prewar building in the Mohave after either coughing up some caps or passing a speech check (most likely located near one of the Highways). Going there will have you encounter the building's automated defenses and malfunctioning android guards. After finishing off all opposition, the player will find a old, dead body, labeled "Business Man", with a special item, "IFF Chip", which will go in the misc category. If this item is not on the player when approaching Two, she will automatically attack on sight, which will also make you fail the quest. After gaining the chip, the player will find Two wandering about near Primm, surrounded by dead bodies of Powder Gangers and NCR soldiers. Boom, you now have the option of having her as a companion. She'll have Vault Security Armor (it just reminds me of riot-armor for some reason), and a custom Riot Shotgun and Police Baton, named "Peacekeeper" and "The Equalizer" (cliché names, I know). Peacekeeper, the shotgun, uses 12 gauge slug rounds, and has the special effect of both ignoring armor and doing extra damage to limbs. Equalizer, the baton, essentially acts as a better Cattle Prod, slowing people down and occasionally knocking them back. She'll also have a companion wheel, for streamlined gameplay. Now, obviously, this whole addition will take more time and more roles to make. So, if you think it is a good idea to impliment, or no, private message me and tell me what you think. Should I keep it simple, or go for it?

When on inhibitors (majority of lines), she has a polite, but flat tone. See literally any automated message system for reference. When off inhibitors, she has a more emotion-filled voice, and is more callous and rough in general. Reference Revi from Black Lagoon for off-inhibitor lines.

  • "Hello. I am Two, a registered Vault-Tec assistant android. Do you wish for assistance? It has been approximately 400 years since the last patron. I am both a companion, and a security guard. I have extensive knowledge of over 460 registered firearms, American and Chinese Communist." (Main intro/hiring line)

  • "Turning off inhibitors...'Imma be frank with you, buddy, because I doubt you have the intellectual capacity to understand if I said it any other way. I am a brain, in a jar, inside of a metal and rubber body. In layman's terms, I'm a robot. You good with that?"(Alternate hiring line.)

  • "Assailants spotted, engaging. Possible Communist influence detected, lethal force has been put into effect."
