Turnabout Musical - Direct Adaptation Production

Project Overview

Hello, you may know me as the guy who can’t finish a project (looks at Danganronpa Fandub, RWBRIDGED and Ocarina). However, once Ocarina went into a heavy rewrite stage, I had some time and have decided to put together a reading of Turnabout Musical, another fan musical out there, except this time not written by me. The version that I’m casting for today is based on the Turnabout Musical Live! Script released in the production package the crew behind the show released a while back, though adds a few things in like a reworked version of Turnabout Samurai from the original script.

This is planned to be released across three videos, each one encasing an act. This’ll be entirely voice acted as well. However, if you’ve heard me sing before, you would know that I cannot. So, I’m hiring others to perform, while I’ll stay in a purely managerial position.

We’ll need several actors to perform across the three acts, including all the fan-favorites. So, do you want to sing in this colossal waste of time? Well, audition today! Or by the deadline! ALSO, I will be live directing for this project. When cast, I'll ask for your timezone and available times so I can create a schedule to try and live direct you. However, is you so wish, you can record in your own time without Live Direction. You are still expected to practice in your own time. 

Now for some Rules

  • When performing the roles, rather than relying on the built in description in the role, pay more attention to the description, which gives a more detailed description
  • No Phone or Laptop mics. This is a USB Microphone Minimum
  • Submit all lines by the due date
  • While some roles are definitely cartoon-y and over the top, try to keep some level of realisim when it comes to the acting
  • Must have either Skype or Discord for Live Direction

Production is planned to begin after the due date and will likely continue until the end of the year.

    Hey, I’m the guy who’s making this project. I’ve got to say, I love the work everyone put in. And when I say everyone, I mean EVERYONE. There isn’t a single audition I can consider to be bad and it took me a few hours to actually finally decide on a few select roles. So, I’m excited to announce the full cast list for Turnabout Musical. Now, not everyone got auditions, including some roles which I could work around, but it would be difficult. So, I’m going to get in contact with a lot of you, especially if you did not get a role. I’ll be reaching out to some of the people who auditioned to see if they would be interested in filling out a simple chorus role or perhaps taking on a different part than originally intended. So, if you see TBD or TBA in the cast list, I’m still working at that role. Now, before I get to announcing who got what, I should talk about Live Direction. When I planned for Live Direction, there were two things that I didn’t plan for. One was simply how busy my schedule was getting. I only had a few free hours in the day, and while I am happy to use those for the project, it means I won’t be able to work as easily with certain actors. Another thing is the COVID-19 epidemic which has affected things worldwide and for a lot of people makes it almost impossible to have a steady schedule. So there are currently no plans to Live Direct people. Instead, I’ll be working with the actors on individual deadlines.   • Deadline Extended!

    Hey, I love all the work that has come in so far! I am however delaying the deadline just by a little bit. This is mainly because some roles are yet to have auditions, including some key ones. I'll only be extending it by five days. If there aren't enough people to work with in five days (even with multi-casting), I'll have to call quits on this. Clearly Ms Stone took the clock with her when she traveled, meaning on the day of the crime the clock was not three hours slow, but nine hours fast! The exact time difference between here and Paris! That’s why, Mr. Sahwit, you heard the wrong time when you struck her dead in her own apartment!”

Miles Edgeworth or The Demon Prosecutor. Up until the start of the show, he has never lost a case and sees the means meeting the ends. But once Phoenix arrives on the scene, he begins to doubt his motives, especially when he’s charged with murder. A strong emotional and singing voice required

  • “Allow me to explain. Mr. White’s company deals in information; therefore, he instructed Miss May to wiretap the Fey and Co. Offices. But who actually installed the tap? Was it not you, Mr. White? You would’ve had plenty of opportunity to identify the light stand, thus revealing Mr. Wright’s theory as the baseless conjecture it truly is. Isn’t that right?”

  • “Wright, you listen to me. These lingering doubts you’ve burdened me with serve no useful purpose. Don’t ever show your face to me again. That’s what I wanted to say.”
