Trainstep Inn (Original Animated Series) Auditions

Trainstep Inn (Original Animated Series) Auditions

Project Overview

"The mysterious Trainstep Inn has always been shrouded in a layer of mystery. No one reads into it. No one questions it. That is- until Wendell arrived."

For our 2015 Spring project, Bananza Films is working to create a ten episode, fully animated mini-series! The title of our project is "Trainstep Inn" and above is an excerpt from the summary. We have already held our first round of auditions for the female leads, all of whom were cast! We are now opening auditions for the male leads as well as a few minor roles.

We anticipate release of the first episode to be towards the end of next month. The remaining nine episodes will then be released on Youtube fairly regularly until the end of the summer. The series has a completely original soundtrack so it is possible that in addition to the series' release on Youtube we may also submit to small festivals.

This is a minor role we need cast for episode one. Any gender or voice is fine but we prefer the voice to sound a bit older as they are portraying a newscaster.

  • After being found guilty of the murder of his wife, Tracy, and their two children, Porter was charged with murder in the first and sentenced to hanging. Its been nearly two years since Porter mysteriously disappeared and he has yet to be tracked down. However, the speculation was confirmed this morning that the cases P.I., David East, somehow aided in the escape.

The male protagonist of Trainstep Inn. Wendell is a man of few words and often does not speak unless he has something to say. He is fine with long pauses and does not feel the need to always fill the silence. However, his fatal flaw is that he is incapable of letting things go. This can sometimes lead to him coming off as a bit rude and intrusive. We a re looking for a medium voice for him. Not too low, nor too high. However, we are open to interpretation for this character.

  • You were quiet then and calm...and cold. But now, youre so hopeful and bright. Its like talking to the sun.

  • Are you sure? Because you really seemed to have a problem with that newscast. And you also really seem to have a problem with me.

  • (This is a narration in the perspective of a letter from Wendell to his mother) Mom, Im fine. I think Dads safe too. Ive found a place to stay for a bit. Tondra from Greendeeres here, too. Do you remember her? She was probably around 12 the last time you saw her. The people here- theyve been hearing about the case. There havent been any problems yet...for the most part. There is one person that concerns me, but she doesnt seem to want to bring up the case, luckily. I know youre worried about me and Dad but well be fine. Were men of few words after all. We dont get asked a lot of questions. And it really doesnt seem like much happens here, after all. Wendell.

Role assigned to: james larabee

The second male lead. We will warn in advance though that this character does not appear until episode 3. Thanatos, more commonly called Than, is the living picture of charisma. He's funny, slick, and extremely well-liked by all who meet him. However, there is a bit of mystery to him. He never gives much away about himself and never gets too close to other people. We are looking for a voice that's a bit deeper than Wendell's for this character. However, we are very open to interpretation on Than's voice.

  • Are you taking a picture? Because you're making me smile.

  • You could say she was...an almost? Or maybe I was her almost. Whatever the case, it never worked out. And I think I'm fine with that.

  • (pointing a gun) Drop it! Right now! This isn't your fight.
