Thief of Thieves #1 | Comic Dub

Project Overview

Just dubbing #1 of Thief of Thieves.

1. Have good mic quality(no pop, static, noise in the background, etc).

2. Read up on the character and try to embody that character.

3. Double check your audition. If there is no life in your voice and it sounds like you're just reading cardboard then don't submit it just yet.

PLOT

Redmond is a master thief who decides to quit just before attempting what would be his biggest heist yet. He then begins a new career of stealing from other thieves in an effort to make up for all his previous mistakes, but finds himself on the run from people on both sides of the law. Kirkman explained, "He's got this compulsion where he has to steal or he doesn't feel like he's living, but he doesn't want to break the law anymore." Thief of Thieves depicts both sides of Redmond's life: one as the thief along with his young apprentice, Celia; and the other as his real name, Conrad Paulson, who has an estranged wife and adult son.

Celia: Redmond's apprentice and the heir apparent a honor that was never bestowed to Conrad's own son. Celia is a Latina with piercings and tattoos. She also has a son named Leroy who is being raised by her younger sister Penny, who does not approve of Celia's lifestyle. She first met Conrad when she tried to break into Conrad's car. He decided to teach her the ropes, in effect saving her from being robbed at gunpoint from the person she was going to steal for. She asks Conrad to show her what to do. Due to this man changing her and her son's life for the seemingly better, she has an attraction for her mentor. She always makes not-so-subtle sexual advances towards Conrad, but to no avail, since Conrad's main focus is to get Audrey back.

  • (must be said in an accent)

Captain, I think we both know if he was after something, it will be from my inventory. Let me see it.

  • (must be said in an accent)

    Celia:

This is Veggo, the head of my personal secruity. He will be hitting you now.

(after Veggo punches Conrad in the face)

    Where is the pearl?!!!

    Captain:

Countess, a--a word please. I already told you, we've searched his person. Found nothing. I doubt--

    Celia:

Captain, when I came aboard this vessel I made very clear just how precious that cargo was. You assured me that no one could gain unauthorized access to your safe. And now, I am looking at a man who you say has gained unauthorized access to your safe.

  • (no accent needed)

(after Conrad buys the stolen car from her to help her out)

Yeah, but-- look, man, I'm grateful and all. Really, I am. But that's not what I need. What am I supposed to do, just hope every time I try to lift something some tall, mysterious strange guy shows up and bails me out?

Conrad Paulson (alias Redmond): hailed as the greatest thief in modern times. Conrad is a master thief, but has paid the cost to become one, at the expense of his family. At an evening celebration for what is known as "The Venice Job", Conrad makes an announcement that he is leaving "the game". The reason for this is so he can win back his ex-wife Audrey and their son Augustus.

  • May I?

(goes over to a car to explain and show Celia how to break into one)

Now if, you're really committed to sticking with the classic coat hanger here, you do need to buy American. Most japanese cars open sideways. From there, you need a screwdriver to get some room to play with, and-- then you just need to apply some zen to it.

  • Conrad:

Look in the back. You see a purse, women's clothing, anything that suggests the driver is female?

    Celia:

    Why does that matter?

    Conrad:

Female drivers take their cars in for service more regularly. They drive more carefully and are in less accidents, meaning the parts are almost always in better shape but more importantly--
