The Kagami Gateway
Project Overview
This is an original novel I’m working on, and think it would be fun to have an audiobook made with it. This is just my own personal project, but I think having voices to read this would make it even better.
About the project:
Thea is living in a world she feels unfulfilled in. If it wasn't hard enough to please her overbearing father and sister, succeeding in her videography career seems like a pipe dream at times. However, things in her life take an unexpected twist when she meets Klerus, a strange man with strange clothes...from a holographic train? Thea's life goes from zero to a hundred when magic and mystery become her new normal. With Klerus by her side as they become hunted by others from Klerus' world, Thea will need to overcome her senses and adapt at a lightning pace. By the end of this mystic journey, where will Thea end up? And will Klerus be the adventure her heart has been looking for?

I would love it if I could get someone on board to help with sourcing background music, sound affects, ambience, etc. I don't expect it to be original content, but if you already have some stuff you've made and wanna showcase I would love to have a listen!
Say something you think would fit
Since this novel isn't complete yet, I have many more characters that will be coming up that I'll need voices for. So whether you're male, female, non-binary, etc. I encourage you to either audition with the lines below or with your demo reel!
"Indigo city is where you belong, not this place. Come home, Klerus." (Pleading)
"You can't be that stupid. Magic isn't black and white, it's a three dimensional, fluid essence." (Passionate but condescending.)
"What makes you think you have a choice? This world needs change, don't you see?!" (Frustrated)
Thea is a kind, generous and hard-working woman. She is 23 and struggling to follow her own path in life.
Thea is mixed race, with Japanese heritage, so if you also have this ethnicity, I would love to hear your takes! That said, any American accent would be awesome, I'm all for surprises.
"I have been working. Why is this even a discussion? How do you think I have money? Magic? I work!” (Frustrated and annoyed. Emphasis on the first sentence.)
"So the train was real. It was so beautiful.” (Thinking out loud.)
“It can’t be helped. We’ll do we have to do. I’ll deal with the consequences later.” (Determined to help. Kind and thoughtful.)
Klerus, 24, is also a kind person, but he comes from a world where emotions are toned down and technology is everything, he is extremely smart, slightly mischievous and brave. Try out whatever accents you'd like!
“No, no, that’s perfect! Now, add the Microzide in and blend it till it’s a very fine powder." (Encouraging and instructional)
"Well, if I were to have any bad side effects it would’ve happened already.” (Slightly cheeky)
“If the glamor doesn’t apply properly, it can sometimes interfere with the suits defence mechanisms.” (Slightly sad, remembers something from his past.)
47, Serious and very business minded, strict and only slightly gentle. If you can do a natural sounding Japanese accent, that would be incredible, but if not, an American accent is also good!
“Did she tell you about the business course? She can get you a paid internship with her realtor.” (Wondering why she wouldn't jump at the opportunity)
“You haven’t been working, Thea. Even I know this. You need to stop making excuses for yourself.” (Confrontational but calm.)
“Explain?! Explain why you are digging up the foundations of a half a million-dollar house with some random boy?!” (Appalled and angry.)
Have fun with this one, she only appears for one scene in the book, so if you like this role there will probably be other small roles like it :)
"An apothecary? That’s a weird place to be looking for, especially in the twenty first century.” (Sweet and light-hearted)
"This is all you wanted? That’s super easy, come on, I’ll help you.” (Enthusiastic and kind)
Thea's older sister is selfish, misunderstanding and overbearing. She is 25 and should have a similar accent to Thea.
“I asked you yesterday what you planned to do with your stuff. I had hoped you would’ve figured that out by now.” (Stern, pompous, but with fake kindness)
“Look at you, sounding all professional. Well, I’ll be here until ten so if you need me let me know.” (Slightly condescending, trying to sound nice.)
“Ah! What the hell? What the hell did you just do to me?” (Shrill and panicked.)
