Project Overview

Hello there! My name is Magical Joker (also known as Rizzy), and this is my first official project that is going to be animated. Guessing you'll want to know a little about it before auditioning. Fair enough, just continuing reading what's below.


A BRIEF BACKGROUND
"The Heroes Of Craelle" is about three teenagers who are all attending this pristine royal academy where they study magic in the enchanted realm known as Craelle. One day during a tournament duel at the academy, an evil man known as Salem threatens to overthrow the reigning monarch - Queen Calisita - who is also the headmistress at the royal academy. Having the magic drained from her and falling ill, she requests of a student to stop Salem's plans. However, when this student fails to return, the three friends leave campus without permission to find the missing student and save Craelle themselves.

VOICE-ACTING GUIDELINES/WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
So, my friend (Proxy) and I basically created this project together - even though the plot/story is my own original idea. Proxy is doing all the animation and even helping me write the scripts/songs for the episodes and helping cast voices. Speaking of which, there should be about 10 to 12 episodes total by the time the project is finished. If you aren't comfortable with singing, hold your horses and keep reading the guidelines. I'm not done just yet.

1. You MUST Have A Skype
This is how we will both get in contact with you for anything needed (such as lines or if we need extra voices for some reason). We're also going to make a cast chat so everyone can get to meet each other, as we will be working together for quite some time.

2. SENDING LINES/DUE-DATES
One of my biggest pet-peeves are when people turn in lines last minute or too late. So, this is going to be really important. Don't be afraid to ask for more time if you can't make the due-date. Just ask me or Proxy, and one of us will get back to you as quickly as we can. You're going to need to stay committed to this project if you're cast. This project won't even start the animation process until some time...I would say at least not until March 2018, but there is a trailer coming out (which is why I need voices sooner) in October or November this year. Plus, everyone can bond a little before we get started over the Skype cast chat.

3. DEADLINE FOR AUDITIONS - NOT WHAT THE CASTING CALL SAYS
This is also REALLY important. Just because the casting call says this project will end the casting on April 30th, 2017 - that isn't when the actual deadline for auditions are. I'm letting auditions go through until August 15th, 2017. If you aren't cast, don't get upset. It's not because your voice wasn't good enough, it's because I can only come down to one choice in the end. Decisions have to be made.

4. MICROPHONES
We're not asking for Blue Yeti quality microphones, but you need to sound clear enough so we can make out what you're saying. There can also be no background noises or any static. 

5. DOUBLE-CASTING (FOR THOSE WHO ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH SINGING)
I will say this once now so I don't have to explain it later. IF you CANNOT AT ALL find any confidence in yourself to sing (this can't apply to everyone, 'cause I do need singers, but I'm not going to force anyone to do anything they don't want to) then I can double-cast the role. Meaning, two people can voice the same character. A voice for talking as the character, and a voice for singing as the character. You don't need to play both parts, but it would be more preferred if you would.

6. HOW MANY ROLES YOU CAN AUDITION FOR
You can audition for all of them if you really want to, but just know that in the end, you will only be cast for up to two characters if you audition for multiple ones. You'd probably have a better chance of being cast, too.

  • Okay, OFFICIAL, OFFICIAL Last Update

    Proxy and I have made our final decisions on the voice-actors/actresses for the main characters, but they will not be announced or officially cast until tomorrow morning because I'm pretty tired. I had to babysit two toddlers today and they wore me out, and I'm not in the mood for a lot of questions when I add people into that Skype chat. So we're gonna sort all that out in the morning, besides...now you'll all have to wait in suspense! XD For those of you that don't make the cut, don't worry. Next week I will have another casting call up for more additional supporting/minor characters. And then if I need more last minute characters after that...I'll probably post another mini casting call. Hopefully I won't need to and I'll have everything together, but yeah. That's all there is to say for now. The cast members, I will message you tomorrow morning around 10:00am Eastern Standard Time and I will need you to give me your Skype name that way so I can add you to the cast chat. Me, Proxy, and one of the actor's cast offsite (Ether's actor) will be there already. We don't bite though I promise lol. So yeah, see ya in the morning! :)

    Okay, first of all - sorry for spamming you guys with updates. I'm just trying to get all the information out there. XD Secondly, I just thought I'd let you know the TIME we are going to be casting so you stop auditioning. We are going to be casting voices tonight at 6pm (PST) and 8pm (EST). By time 9:00pm (PST) and 10:00pm (EST) roll around, we'll probably be done listening to your auditions and will announce the official cast.

  • Whoops! (More Information About Ether's Role)

    Sorry!! This was meant to go into my 8th update. The speaking part of Ether's role is being closed because we found an actor offsite that we both like (I'm more so letting Proxy choose his voice-actor because it's HER character and she's knows more about Ether than I do, though. I'm just borrowing him for the series). As far as Ether's singing voice-actor, we're still looking for that part of his voice because the actor we cast for his speaking voice doesn't sing. I'll probably add that into the new minor/supporting casting call that's going up soon. So if you're here to audition for Ether, don't. Just message me in about a week (maybe around July 17th) and I'll redirect you to the casting call where we need his singing voice. That's if you're interested in auditioning for Ether though.

  • Casting

    Okay so, some time tomorrow night Proxy and I are going to be officially casting the voices for each character on this list below (we decided to cast a day earlier). Within a week, I will have ANOTHER casting call up for more supporting roles and minor characters that will be needed. Of course they won't be used as frequently, but they are still important. If you are granted a role from this casting call, you are also welcome to try out for the other one as well, though you probably won't be as likely to be cast. It isn't because you don't sound good or anything like that, I'm just trying to give other actors a chance. As far as the script goes, it's not quite done yet, but I'm working on it every chance I get and I'm also still writing the story version along with it. Also know that when you are cast you'll receive a personal message verifying that you've been cast from me and you can give me your Skype that way so I can add you to the cast chat we'll have going on. We aren't going to start RIGHT away, but within a few months (probably after Christmas) the ball will be rolling. There is however going to be a trailer for the series released in late October, but that really only requires Amara's voice actress and maybe one person to narrate a piece at the end (and I'll take a volunteer for that since it's only one line, but that's out of the people cast). Last thing I'm going to say is I wish you good luck on getting cast and that I appreciate you - all of you - for auditioning. I didn't think I'd get anymore than maybe 30 total. Just once again wanted to let you all know that I'm not dead and I'm still alive and breathing. But yes, final decisions will be made tomorrow and another casting call for supporting/minor roles will be up within a week after casting day. See ya in the cast chat tomorrow if you make it! :) F.Y.I - Proxy and I don't bite, so don't be afraid to speak to us when we're in the cast chat (that's what it's for after all, so we can get to know each other as a cast). Proxy just may take a while to come around...I guess the way I could put it is she's not as out-going as she wishes she could be. I promise she is the most sweetest person you'll ever meet though. She's just a bit timid when it comes to meeting new people.

  • FINAL UPDATE

    Unless there is an emergency announcement that needs to be addressed, this will be the final update for this project. The last few profile pictures should be in soon. The animator is slowly getting around to those. Secondly, due to a long vacation (I was at the beach with family), I haven't been too focused on the script for the first episode, but I promise it will be done by the end of summer - at the latest maybe some time in September. As far as the deadline goes for auditions, I'm going to make the final and official due date July 10th, 2017. Voices for the characters shown will officially be cast on July 11th, 2017 (unless more roles are added or we want more auditions for a specific character). If you're cast, I will notify you will a message verifying that you are. You'll need to give me your Skype so I can add you to a cast chat - as we'll all be working together for quite a while and we may as well get to know each other. Now we won't start work RIGHT away, but there is going to be a trailer for the series released in late October with the date for when the first episode is to be released, which is why I needed voices sooner than later. One final thing is that I'm writing a story version of the series as well on the website known as Wattpad. When I'm finished with it, I'd be more than happy to give the link to everyone - I might put that in the description once it's done. I just started writing it today, however. So it'll be a while. Anyways, that's all I have to say for this update. I'm basically saying this is the last call for any auditions - rather you want to try out for another role or invite friends to try as well. I'm also trying to let you all know that I'm not dead, I didn't forget about this project. I've just been a busy bee. Thanks for your time and I'll see you on casting day. :)

Amara is a fifteen year old girl who is a student at the Celestial Academy. She studies fire magic, and has the ability to bring forth heat at any given time. She also has a bow which she can use to fire flaming arrows with.  As a child, she lived a pretty normal life and was raised by her parents in the city/kingdom of Craelle. She didn't have any siblings growing up and found it hard to make friends when she was younger, so until she met Zane and Payton the first day at the academy, she was more of an introvert. Just how did she get accepted into Celestial Academy? Well, Celestial Academy is a pristine, royal school - and only the most gifted element students train and learn there. Calista held entrance exams for all the boys and girls who applied to be a part of the academy, and only a few passed. Amara was one of the lucky ones, and on day one at lunch, she met Payton and Zane. She quickly picked up on the fact Zane was pretty much a sarcastic class clown - and that Payton was a very shy and timid type of person. When they first met, it was very hard for Amara to understand what she was saying, as she didn't do well with making new friends on the spot. As far as Amara's voice goes, I would picture it sounding fairly matured already, and pretty clear. She can also be aggressive at times. Remember, she was only an introvert during her childhood.

  • (Encouraging) "Guys, we can't just give up! Craelle is in danger, and Valerie is still missing! We have a mission to complete, and we can't do that if you stop trying. I need help --- from both of you. Please."

  • (Skeptical) "I don't know if we should trust her, Payton. She seems a little off...but I can't place my finger on how."

Payton is a fifteen-and-a-half year old girl who also attends Celestial Academy. She is an Earth student and has the power to heal almost anyone, the ability to talk to animals, and the power to make plants grow/shrink. She can also cause earthquakes when she gets angry and its a good thing that is very rare, but she doesn't figure that out for quite some time. Payton was always very shy and timid as a kid, and that followed her into her teenage years. The only friend she really had was Zane when she first met him at the academy - and then later came Amara. She also develops a massive crush on Zane, and will occasionally stare at him in classes and around campus, though she is very intimidated by him - as she doesn't know if he likes her or not. Her greatest fear is being in the dark, since she can't see a thing that happens. I picture her voice sounding rather soft and quiet, but loud enough to hear. She is meant to be a very sweet and innocent girl.

  • (Dismissive) "Come on, Amara. She's an old woman, I don't see how she could be a threat to us."

  • (Scared/Worried) "I can't do this, I can't. I'm afraid --- I don't like the dark!"

Zane is a sixteen year old Wind student at Celestial Academy. He has the ability to fly {since he has wings} and he can harness energy within the air to change where it blows, how strong it becomes, or how fast it goes. As a child, Zane was always popular. All the girls in class wanted to be with him, he was an athlete, and he was very humorous. Though, his popularity went down hill when Valerie showed up, and she won over the majority of students with her impressive spells. Zane is way more friendly than Valerie, however. He can also be sarcastic at times and he always stands up for what he thinks is right - that includes defending his friends. Not too early on, but later as the episodes progress, Zane develops a crush on Payton, but is so anxious about sharing his feelings that he can't tell her that he likes her. I picture his voice sounding pretty matured, but also clear and bold. Despite being sarcastic, he doesn't necessarily have a sarcastic tone all the time.

  • (Confident) "Stand back, I've got this all under control ladies!"

  • (Dejected) "I don't think we should bother looking for her anymore. For all we know, Valerie could be dead. It's been almost five days, maybe we should just head on back to campus. Headmistress Calista's gotta be worried about us."

Calista is the headmistress of Celestial Academy, as well as the reigning queen of Craelle. She keeps everything organized and in its place. She is also rather strict when it comes to rules. However, she has a sweet side and is the voice of rhyme + reason. I picture her voice being pretty matured, maybe like a female tenor.

  • (Blunt) "There is no excuse for what you three have done. You disobeyed my orders. You left Celestial Academy without my permission. You failed to stay and prepare for battle...but, you saved Craelle and the school. For that, I thank you all. Though, don't believe that this behavior will go unpunished."

  • (Defensive) "Salem, you know you are not welcomed here. Why have you returned?"

Salem is the main antagonist in this story. As a result of being exiled by Calista, Salem seeks his revenge on Celestial Academy and Craelle itself. I'm not too picky on how you make his voice sound, so long as it's evil-like and he has an English accent.

Ether Astrum

Ether Astrum is a guest character in this series, created by Proxy. He is the professor of the death class and is 26 years old. Very skilled in necromancy, he comes off as rather cold-hearted and, more often than not, irritable and petulant. He tends to act rather haughty and snobbish, though deep down he is a bit of a passionate yet sentimental goofball (though due to traumatic experiences in his past and a childhood of abuse, he tends to deeply suppress this side of himself). He also has a severe fear of blood and germs and can be a hypochondriac. He can also be very manipulative when he needs to be. He helps Salem Ashworth with his heinous plans (though he also manages to infuriate him at times). His voice is somewhat high, and he tends to speak softly and calmly, with a very precise control over his voice, though he can raise his voice and sound extremely commanding and defiant when he needs to. He’s supposed to have an English accent, but a posh accent can also suffice. His voice is similar to that of the YouTube musician Ponyphonic, or Death The Kid’s English voice-actor in Soul Eater.
