Project Overview
Hello, everyone! I'm spinachio (usually I go by Bootleg Megaboss) and I'm making an abridged dub of the Fatal Fury movie with my friend Metabad!
After dubbing the first and second OVAs with friends, we decided to go big with the movie and do a Casting Call. We've already finished writing the script and eagerly await to hear everyone's performances! Please note that this is a free project that we're doing just for fun.

A small update (June 22nd, 2020).
First of all a huge thanks from me and Metabad to everyone who has autitioned so far. This is our first casting call and we're both surprised and glad to have received so many unique auditions so quickly! Secondly, we had originaly intended for the deadline to be August 1st, however I didn't realise at the time no matter what date I inputed, CCC would lower it back to the soonest available date for free members. The date didn't change imediately while editing, so I assumed I could put whatever I wanted. I can still extend the deadline, for up to 3 weeks, but I can't get it up to August 1st. Largely for that reason, but also due to having already received plenty of auditions, the new deadline will be July 15th. I apologize for the inconvenience and promise to not repeat the same mistake in the future. Regarding casting choices, we'll let everyone know after the project has reached its deadline. The main protagonist of Fatal Fury and the older brother of Andy Bogard. He and Andy were orphaned as children. They were adopted by a man named Jeff Bogard, who was killed by Geese Howard, which immediately made him into Terry's mortal enemy, even more so after he killed his love interest Lily Maguire. Since then he had trained under Tung Fu Rue and as he grew up, he learned all he needed to know about street fighting to avenge his father and defeat Geese. Terry is friendly, outgoing, and charismatic, and a stereotypically All-American design through and through, at least in the original game series and movies.
In our dub, he's by and large still a lone wolf, although Lily survived since the events of the first Fatal Fury OVA was a dream and Andy ended up defeating Geese. He got depressed and became a lowlife drunkard in the second OVA, but that was also a dream. In this one, he pretty much goes his own way until he meets Sulia Gaudimus and is determined to protect her from her desperate brother Laocorn in his quest to become a God and get all the ladies. In his spare time he regularly plays arcade games and watches VHS tapes of old anime films. He also regularly thinks that his brother Andy Bogard is dead for some reason.
For his voice, a youthful, energetic voice would work best. If you need a basis or a frame of reference, here are your options:

Andy Bogard is one of the secondary protagonists of Fatal Fury and the younger brother of Terry Bogard. He and Terry were orphaned as children. They were adopted by a man named Jeff Bogard, who was killed by Geese Howard. Since then he had trained under Tung Fu Rue and as he grew up, he learned all he needed to know about street fighting to avenge his father and defeat Geese. He also studied under the late Hanzo Shiranui and Jubei Yamada.
In regards to our dub, while Terry appeared to defeat Geese, it was all a dream and Andy ended up defeating him instead. Andy is rather stoic and serious, yet gets irritated rather easily, especially in regards to Mai Shiranui who is infatuated with him, but the love is not returned. In that regard he is rather down on his luck, regularly getting beaten up as well. He hates kids and Terry often thinks he's dead, which angers him to no end. He also dyed his hair blue once but it never caught on, However, Geese seemed to want to steal his hair to become bishonen.
For the voice, a youthful deadpan sound would be ideal, should also sound frustrated when the moment calls for it.

Joe Higashi is one of the secondary protagonists of Fatal Fury. He is a Muay Thai Kickboxer and a good friend of the Bogard Brothers. Since meeting them he has become the champion kickboxer in Japan after defeating Hwa Jai.
In the original movie he's still good friends with the Bogard brothers despite some teasing here and there. In our dub...he started off as a jerk with a heart of gold, but by now he's basically an asshole who let his overinflated ego get to his head thanks to him winning the championship belt. He runs his mouth all the time, with the others regularly bringing him down through physical violence, or pointing out how he's still single.
For the voice, a laid back, smooth and confident sound would work the best.

Mai Shiranui is one of the secondary protagonists of Fatal Fury. She's one of the main female characters as well as Andy's love interest. She trained under her Grandfather Hanzo in the art of ninjitsu. Although uninterested at first, that changed when Hanzo's rival Jubei challenged him to a fight. She fought him in his stead and achieved victory, rejuvenating her interest in fighting. She later met Andy after he travelled to Japan to train under her father, and while she found him boring at first, that changed when he got her a special gift for her birthday, driving her to proclaim him as her boyfriend.
Though training to be a ninja, Mai's personality reflects that of a flirtatious, young girl when not fighting, often showing her voluptuous body by wearing skimpy outfits (though sometimes she wears kimonos). When Mai fights, she can become quite condescending and taunt her opponent. Mai can also be quite jealous, especially when anybody talks about Andy, her self-proclaimed "boyfriend", who she's immediately head over heels for and can sometimes act like a helpless girl around. She's largely the same in our dub, although a bit more crass and vulgar at times.
For the voice, something spunky, young, playful and flirtatious would work perfectly.

Sulia Gaudemus is one of the secondary protagonists in Fatal Fury 3. She is a movie exclusive character. She serves as a young 17 year old girl in distress and is on the run from her mad brother Laocorn along with his band. She is also Terry Bogard's love interest.
Sulia and Laocorn are the descendants of Gaudemus Prime. As a result she has inherrited ancient powers that allow her to heal others. She is trying to keep the pendant away from her mad brother, as that is one of the pieces he needs to awaken the ancient God. She seeks Terry's help, with Joe, Mai and Andy tagging along for the ride.
An intelligent and timid bookworm, she is polite and earnest to the people she meets, and this earns her a few admirers. Although she is filled with grief to see her twin brother increasingly corrupted by the Armor of Mars, Sulia is determined to bring him back to his old self. She admires Terry greatly for his kindness and generosity.
In our dub, her personality is largely the same, but her backstory differs significantly. She was originally good friends with Laocorn's gang, who all formed a band called Maiden Masher. She was going out with Panni, though Jamin seems to have expressed some interest in her as well. Laocorn was also going out with Panni however, so Sulia plotted to have him killed. It failed and she ran off, although now technically against them she still has some attachment to her old friends, making her feel conflicted and she struggled with feelings of inadequacy.
Her voice should be youthful and timid, perhaps with a slight rasp as well, although it's not 100% needed and shouldn't be overdone.

Laocorn Gaudemus is the main antagonist in Fatal Fury 3. He is a movie exclusive character.
Sulia and Laocorn are the descendants of Gaudemus Prime. As a result he has inherited ancient powers. He is trying to collect all of the pieces of the armour of Mars so he can achieve ultimate power. He is aided by Panni, Hauer and Jamin and is currently after his sister for the pendant she wears over her neck, which is one of the many pieces needeed to summon the God.
In the original movie, he was a good person, but always felt he was weak. When he touched the Armor, he became drunk with power, but that was Mars' influence. When he took off the armor, he returned to his senses and tried to redeem himself.
In our dub, he was basically an asshole from the start. Essentially served as a nice guy who was jealous of all the chads getting all the girls in high school. By summoning Gaudemus Prime with the armour pieces, he not only intends to achieve total power, but become a chick magnet as well, and he intends to destroy anyone who gets in his way.
For the voice, a youthful, cocky surfer dude voice would work best.

Jamin is one of the secondary antagonists, he is a movie exclusive character and part of Laocorn's band. He doesn't talk much and mostly serves as the muscle of the group.
Jamin is a silent and loyal man that will obey every command from his master. He is fond of Sulia and secretly worries about her while obeying Laocorn. He condemns his master's obsession with the Armor of Mars, believing that true power lies in one honing one's fighting abilities. He likes to meditate and is an honorable fighter much in contrast to Hauer.
In our dub, he seems to have feelings for Sulia and is BFFs with Laocorn, firmly believing in bros before hoes. He can also talk without moving his mouth. He is a respectful man, but gets angry when his meditation is interrupted.
For the voice, a deep tough sounding voice would work perfectly.

Panni is one of the secondary antagonists, she is a movie exclusive character and part of Laocorn's band. Pretty much the token girl of the team with the ability to control water at will.
Panni is extremely loyal to Laocorn and will do anything he commands, but she secretly worries about him and fears what he may become when he finds all the pieces of the Amor of Mars.
In our dub, she pretty much judges everyone she sees and has a snippy, sarcastic comeback for everything. She is also Sulia's girlfriend, but Laocorn tried going out with her behind her back, setting the events of this plot in motion. She also can appreciate the beauty of others.
For her voice, a low, husky voice would work wonders.

Hauer one of the secondary antagonists, he is a movie exclusive character and part of Laocorn's band. He is the dignified, fancy pretty boy of the team, and has the ability to create and control air.
Hauer is a narcissistic individual that is obsessed with beauty, especially his own. Besides that quirk, he is also a sadistic man, that likes to play with people's minds such as when he did to Andy by kissing Mai. He is not interested in fair fights and doesn't care about honor, as he is only interested in winning by any means necessary.
In our dub, he's largely the same, he judges everything and is very verbose, although he is loyal to his friends.
For the voice, a smug, haughty British sounding voice would fit perfectly.

Kim Kaphwan is a supporting character and one of Terry's friends. They fought when they first met and now remain friendly rivals. He has since started a family.
Kim strives for excellence and righteousness in everything he does, be it his fighting or personal life. He is a loving husband and father, and a strict disciplinarian. He is deeply respected and admired by his acquaintances for his honesty and bravery, and has many friends. However, he apparently can't handle his liquor very well.
One of Kim's defining characteristics is his strong, inherent sense of justice. He has the ability to tell whether or not someone is evil at a glance.
We went with a high pitched silly voice in the previous part, so if you want to continue off of that for continuity and consistency's sake, feel free to. If you want to do a more serious take, a deeper, smooth voice that can be relaxed in casual situations and stern in battle would likely work best.

Raiden is a professional wrestler formerly working for Geese Howard, he was defeated by Joe Higashi and has since renounced his old persona, going under the name Big Bear and raising a daughter of his own. Sulia runs into him at a party.
Raiden has a fighting spirit and wants to fight strong opponents. During his time as Raiden, he was portrayed as a ruthless man who cared little concerning his opponents' well-being.
A deep voice would work best for this character, sounding gruff might fit as well, but it is optional.

Billy Kane is a fighter from Britain and was Geese Howard's right hand man, working closely with Raiden. He was defeated by Andy. He basically hangs out at Duck King's party in this movie.
While Billy cannot be considered a "good guy", he is not an evil man; his criminal career is motivated more by a desire to make easy money and his respect for Geese Howard than actual malice. His softer side is often shown when he's with his sister or friends.
For the voice, a British/English accent is very important to the character. Pitch can be anywhere between deep and medium.

Formerly a fierce Judo warrior, his young spirit and burning will was admired and respected by those who saw his fights, but that was long ago. Nowadays he is a giddy, eccentric old man living a relatively peaceful life, although he knows when to get serious and when his wisdom is needed, especially where his students are concerned. He spends his time with his old friend and rival Hanzo Shiranui a Ninjutsu master and well trained in the ways of Koppo-ken. Hanzo had been training his granddaughter Mai in the Shiranui Ninjutsu style, but when he was approached by a young American boy called Andy Bogard who wanted to learn the Koppo-ken art, Hanzo left Mai to complete her training with Jubei. Jubei realized that Andy had a lot of potential to become a superb fighter, but he had more important tasks to do.
Even though his golden age has long been gone, Jubei refuses to sit back in a bed and wait for his death. Jubei likes to be where the action is, and always tries to live his remaining days as a youngster. Revived by the passion of other young fighters as Andy and Mai, Jubei takes a cue, and always takes to the fighting arena every now and then. He is also seen to be a pervert.
For the voice, a giddy, elderly raspy yet energetic voice would probably work best.

A former Spanish matador who uses a self-styled martial art based on his deadly bullfighting methods. He serves as the right-hand man and servant of Wolfgang Krauser. He asked Mai to go on a date with him, but she was repulsed by his advances. Although Andy defeated him in the second movie, it is unknown what happened between them in our dub. With Krauser now gone, he feels a bit lost.
Unlike Billy and Axel, Laurence is a brutish fighter who zealously took to his new duties for Krauser. Disregarding the feats of others, Laurence always tends to raise his own skills and abilities above others as he feels that his noble heritage has earned him a place among the greatest. Despite this, he takes pride in serving his master Krauser and to deter all those who dare stand against him. As a man of honor, he also knows when to pay his debts and to admit defeat.
The voice is pretty much open to interpretation. You can either do a high pitched elegant voice like the movie, or a Beavis and Butthead kind of voice that he had in our previous dub for consistency. A wimpy sounding high pitched voice could also work for our dub.

The Principal of the school Laocorn, his band and his sister Sulia went to as kids. He was the father of Panni, but Laocorn was going out with him (along with Sulia, unbeknownst to him.) He tried to have him killed, but ended up being Laocorn's first victim in his quest for Godhood.
For the voice, a middle aged stern sounding voice would work best, otherwise it's pretty much open to interpretation.

Kyo is over-confident but well meaning, more interested in enjoying life than having to partake in any particular responsibilities. He is quick to dismiss subjects that don't interest him and will often carry out his actions with a devil-may-care attitude. Despite his seemingly arrogant and rude demeanor, he treasures his friends and family. His extreme disinterest in studies has led to his chronic inability to graduate from high school (which has become subject to in-jokes). Although he is confident in his poetic talent, most of his poems aren't considered to be good by his listeners.
Kyo takes his clan's responsibilities on a more personal level, disregarding ancient legends and predestined events as any reason for his actions. His strong sense of justice and his zeal to fight stronger opponents are what he believes to drive him to carry out his destiny. His rivalry with Iori is one of mutual hatred and was hardly spurred by their clans' history. When Kyo and Iori join forces, it is often begrudgingly and as a last resort solution to the conflict at hand.
His role in our dub is basically a cameo as an audience member watching the movie.
