The Case of the Missing Snowball | JAPANESE DUB
Project Overview
Hi everybody, thanks for checking out this casting call! This project is a Japanese dub to an animated video called "The Case of the Missing Snowball." My friends and I uploaded the video onto YouTube last week (the link to the video is somewhere on this page), and we were thinking of making a Japanese version of the video as the original was made to resemble a retro anime in the first place. The story revolves around the Easter Bunny taking away the winter season because of his hatred towards Christmas being more popular than Easter, and a cast of friends going on a trip around the world to find him and bring the holiday back.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to provide payment for this project. I hope that is okay.
Voice Actor Rules:
-Voice actors must be of at least 14 years of age.
-Voice actors should be comfortable with videos involving violence, cursing, and some gore.
-Voice actors should know and be able to speak Japanese. This dub isn't meant to be totally professional, though (all of the lines are just being translated from Google Translate and a lot of things will probably be butchered lol).
-Voice actors should have Discord.
Rules for Recording Audition Lines:
-Each line is copied and pasted three times for better reference. The first two texts are in Japanese translation from Google Translate, and the last is in English. Below those three texts are texts for voice direction if needed.
-You only need to say the Japanese translation line in your audition. Please try to say each line twice in your audition as well.
That should be all for now. If there was anything that I forgot to say in this description, I'll make an update post about it. If you have any questions and would like to contact me, please do so either in the Casting Call Club DMs or on my discord at jekima#9137. Thank you!
There are a lot of roles to fill in for the Japanese dub; if any of them interest you, please consider auditioning!

Latest Updates
-
Hi everyone! Thank you all for being patient with the casting process of The Case of the Missing Snowball Japanese Dub this past month, and thank you all for auditioning! I'm writing this post to let you all know of some updates in regards to the project itself. My team and I are planning to hopefully start looking more into the auditions in the next few weeks. We also plan to start casting around that time, too. With that, we're still looking for some more auditions to some of the roles, so we may push back the due date of the casting call again to a later time this spring if necessary. Nevertheless, thank you all for waiting and have a good day!
Jek Dima is one of the more organized characters of the group. He's willing to help his friends out to the best of his ability, and his voice can either be soft/calming or loud.
I just thought of this; I'm imagining his voice in Japanese like Tanjiro's from Demon Slayer lol

Despite wearing a duck mask over his head, Kristian Smooth is an expressive character like Jek Dima. Kristian's voice can be serious when it needs to, but also really jolly and happy when the occasion is appropriate.

Jezzie the News Reporter is a very loud and sporadic character. He shouts in fear and surprise a lot on the news, as he learns about these life-changing headlines.

(Bleak and depressed)

Jack Frost rides around on a scooter and loves to play video games whenever he gets the chance. He can be pretty loud and snarky.
Watch Zenitsu clips for reference.

(Shimin no minasan, kon'nichiwa. Tanoshī kurisumasu no tegami o o todoke shimasu.)
Hello citizens, just here to drop off some fun Christmas letters!
(Jolly)
The narrator's voice can be whatever voice you think would suit the video best! I would just suggest trying to go with a more serious tone when recording lines.
ずっと前に、地球は4つの魔法の物体によって生命を与えられました。

(The head of Christmas, Santa Claus, made sure that the people were happy every year... but he couldn't please everyone.)
Carmelo's voice is either jolly or sad. You can interpret this voice any way you want! He only has two lines in this video, I think.
ああ、私は春のことをしているだけです。
(Ā, watashi wa haru no koto o shite iru dakedesu.)
(Oh, I'm just doing some spring things.)
(Please say this line once in a happy manner, and once in a more melancholic one.)
Erik only says this one line in the video. Interpret the voice as you please! My only suggestion would be to go for something a little loud and excited.
うわー、そりだ!
(Uwa ̄ , sorida!)
(Woah, it's a sled!)
Krampus is a strong and structured character in this video. Please interpret this voice as you please.

(What do you guys want?)
(Annoyed; a bit angered)
彼は死にました。
(Kare wa shinimashita.)
(He's dead.)(Blatantly)
