Hey! Just so everyone knows, our Isabelle had to drop out for personal reasons. If anyone is interested in filling the role, I'm reopening the casting call for her!
The Adventure of Plant: A Smash Ultimate Machinima - Main Cast
Project Overview
In a distant land, an evil kingdom rises unseen. After a warning from God, Richter travels to Bowser's kingdom to find a hero to stave off this evil, and finds a nervous Piranha Plant named... Plant. Together with a plethora of allies, Richter and Plant must return to defeat the evil Princess Parsnip and save the world from total domination.
This casting call is for the main cast of 12 (6 heroes and 6 villains). Being cast for these roles means a starring role in nigh-every episode, so being consistently available is a must.
As for the auditions themselves:
* No background noise
* No pitch-shifting
* If you stutter, feel free to leave it in as long as you record a clear version of the line as well

Thank You, Auditioneers!
The deadline for auditions has drawn to a close. I'm going to spend my free time over the weekend deciding who gets what role. If I think you might be a better fit for a secondary character, I'll DM you. Thank you one and all for your interest in this pet project of mine! -
For the month of Spooptober
After about a month's worth of auditions, I am blown away by the actors I've seen so far! While I have some favorites right off the bat, I'm not going to divulge them till the deadline. For Lemmy, I've posted my own performance of him so you can compare notes of your attempts at his voice. The fictional language that Samus will be sporadically speaking has also been added to her role description, so give that a look if you're interested!

A new addition to Bowser's minions, Plant is declared in one of Richter's dreams to be the hero to defeat the kingdom of Noctus. As of right now, he's easily terrified and not very good at one-on-one fights, nor can he access the power hidden inside, but he's enthusiastic about learning as much as he can from Richter.
Voice-wise, he's very high-pitched, albeit not quite shrill enough to count as a child. Given that he's the main hero of the narrative, he's going to be featured in a lot of key scenes, particularly of the emotional kind.
(terrified out of his mind) AAGH! What is that thing!? Why is it here!?
(encouraging) Hey, don’t get so down, King Bowser! He may have gotten us this time, last time, and a number of times before that, and even that time when it was that board game, but you never gave up even once!
(in awe) C-can you teach me how to do that, Richter?

The youngest of the seven Koopalings, as well as the most brazen. He doesn't think about starting fights for much longer than a second, despite getting soundly beaten every time. He lacks fear, but it only serves to highlight his impulsiveness, as he believes he's the only one who can get things done. He fancies himself the hero of this story, despite all evidence to the contrary.
Voice-wise, he needs to sound like a young teen, though not of the variety that breaks your ears. He's a sort of secondary protagonist alongside Plant, and as such needs some good emotional range. Ostensibly, I'm voicing him, but I'm open to alternate takes on the character.

(heedless of potential consequences) I've thought about it! CHAAAAAAARGE!
(convinced he's in the right) We don’t have time to plan! Times like this call for bold action!
(grumpily) Oh, of course HE gets all the fanfare. Not me. Not ever.

The last Holy Warrior of the kingdom of Castle, on a pilgrimage to the Koopa Kingdom to find a hero to defeat a nebulous kingdom seen in a vision. Patient and kind, yet decidedly blunt when the situation calls for it, he hides a sense of guilt over what befell the other Holy Warriors.
Voice-wise, he's very level and confident, very similar to how David Vincent portrays him in-game.
(hesitantly, remembering past pain) I-I don't know what I could have done... but I should have done SOMETHING.
(having woken up from a disturbing vision) Lord… Was that a sign? Am I… Am I to seek this hero?
(to calm down his audience) I assure you, I mean no harm. Private Koops can attest to that.

A warrior found on the road by Plant and gang, nursed back to health in a village Richter took them to. In gratitude, he has sworn a life-debt to the Holy Warrior, though he chooses not to associate with the rest of the gang, feeling unworthy of their friendship. He also hides some truly dark secrets...
Voice-wise, he's measured and clear, though it often feels as if he's speaking a second language. He should have similar pitch to Cam Clarke's take on him, but that isn't strictly necessary. He doesn't join the main cast until episode 2.
(recovering from previous injuries) W-were you the one to give me salvation?
(with conviction) As long as I am indebted to you, none of your companions shall come to harm.
(sadly) I am not worthy of the kindness you grant me. I may never be. Not anymore.

A former apprentice of Richter who quit for fear of not living up to expectations. She instead hangs around her village, tending to the sick and wounded and protecting them from harm. Plant and gang encounter her and, thanks to some encouragement, she joins the party.
Voice-wise, she should be able to run the gamut between perky and comforting to sad and gloomy. She doesn't join the main cast until Episode 3.
(comforting) Don't be scared. I've got you.
(shakily) No, don't say that, sir! I'm not as strong as you say I am!
(friendly and calm) I'm sure it's going to be alright. We're all friends here!

The Daphinator
A warrior of the Chozo who roams the land as a mercenary. Richter, realizing the team needs more muscle, hires her onto the team. Terse and exceedingly blunt, she does not take much time to socialize with the rest of the gang, but takes a subtle interest in Corrin.
Voice-wise, she is calm and measured, very similar to Alesia Gildewell's take in-game. She doesn't join the main cast until Episode 4, so it may be awhile before you get to hear your voice in an episode. There will be moments when you are speaking a language I made up for this series, but you'll have a pronunciation guide once you are cast. A quick overview of the language can be found here.
(after soundly walloping some thugs) Chozo armor is not an effective enough deterrent, it seems.
(accepting a job) You have a deal. I will meet you at dawn's light.
(dismissive) Your boss hired me, so I walk with him. Do not become attached.

Chaos X
The youngest of Noctus's royal siblings, ignored by her seniors for her age. Regardless of her official standing, she is ingratiated to the Captain of the Royal Guard and on speaking terms with the Vizier of Noctus. Her disgust with the decadence of the oldest leads her to declare war on the rest of the siblings, using her bloodline's powers and natural charisma to become a ruler who will lead Noctus to glory.
Voice-wise, she needs to be young but charismatic and calm. While she is the main villain, for the first part of the series she will be more like a secondary protagonist, and will require some emotional range beyond typical baddie.
(insistently) No! I do not accept this! Our kingdom will crumble in the hands of one so haughty! Father, I demand we hold the Erbkrieg!
(initially commanding, then deadpan) Captain, stop! Your usefulness wanes greatly in the pits of a chimaera’s stomach.
(with growing conviction) They may turn a blind eye to me now, but the world will see my glory before the year is up.

Captain of Noctus's royal guard and right hand of Parsnip. She was a prodigy in the Knights Academy of Noctus, though not without some pent-up psychological issues. Parsnip rallied to her side in these trying times, being beneath the notice of the other royal siblings, and ingratiated herself to Edelgard, leading the young captain to be unfailingly loyal.
Voice-wise, she needs to be measured and commanding, though capable of tender moments, similar to Tara Platt's portrayal in Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
(completing a report) As it stands, this is our perfect opportunity to attack, but I must have my report delivered to his Majesty before I can move forward.
(with reverence) I fully intend to support you in this endeavor, your Highness.
(angrily) You had best watch your tongue! Her Highness will never tolerate failure!

The Grand Vizier of Noctus, with a storied past he prefers to keep private. He, strangely, uses the same tools of the trade that a Holy Warrior from Atrea would, but with a far more villainous bent. He is cold and arrogant, and hates being talked down to, seeing the king of Noctus as an equal rather than a superior, and would much rather be left to his own devices.
Voice-wise, I'm looking for something similar to Jeremy Irons' portrayal of Scar from The Lion King (1994), though any slimy antagonist voice is viable.
(contemplative) Hmm… God always struck me as smarter than that…
(with veiled disgust) That girl’s never going to claim victory if she shows her hand THAT early.
(irreverent) Sure, Your Majesty. As the tenets of the Erbkrieg dictate, however, I can't take such actions.

A chimaera commissioned by the eldest royal sibling, the finest work by the Chimaera Specialist. While he doesn't seem to be much more than a dumb beast, he is intelligent enough to know when he's being used, and Parsnip uses his intelligence to her advantage.
Voice-wise, something similar to his in-game roars is fine, but you need to be able to communicate intent through nothing but wordless vocalizations for this role. I will allow you to use recording program tools to distort your voice, but I must be able to hear the intent behind the inhuman noises.
NOTE: Do not despair if you are not cast to Ridley! If I like your performance well enough, you will be called upon to voice the generic chimaeras that appear over the course of TAP!
*dismissive growl, as if to say "You're not worth my time"*
*screech of anger*

The resident Chimaera Specialist of Noctus. Sadistic and cruel, though not quite insane, Gimli is a reclusive presence that none of the royal siblings dare approach out of disgust for his hobbies. He will jump at any chance to let his creations loose, though a small sore spot for him is a certain "Experiment 462"...
Voice-wise, he should be manic and capable of some wild mood swings. Higher-pitched mad scientist voices are welcome. This character won't be introduced until episode 2.
(gleeful) Oh, it is so wonderful to see him out and eating! I made him SO well!
(amused) You would come to me for help? Oh you must TRULY be desperate!
(with barely contained anger) Do NOT mention Experiment 462. Or would you rather I feed you to one of my creations?

The last of Noctus's ancient guardians, currently in service to the king's youngest son. He has seen far too many rulers in his time brought down by their pride and arrogance, and hopes that his lord's willingness to do whatever it takes will lead Noctus to glory. However, a dream of his that foretold of a tiny speck toppling a kingdom has lent doubt that his side is the correct one.
Voice-wise, I'm not terribly picky, but something similar to the way Dickson is portrayed in Xenoblade Chronicles would be best. This character won't be introduced until episode 2.
(weary) Every generation thinks themselves the highest of the mighty. And every generation, some insignificant bug rises up to topple them.
(deadpan) It is truly humbling to hear such praise from a brat like you.
(with the slightest hint of fear) Need I remind you of my vision!? A single seed sprouted into a vine that tore down everything we’ve ever built! We cannot ignore any potential threat, no matter how small!
