Project Overview

(More castings will be listed, just trying to get the big roles filled in first)

The Actor is a GTA V Machinima series. The show takes place in the modern day but in the same continuity of the HD Universe of Grand Theft Auto games. The show focuses on Troy Walker, an up and coming actor from Liberty City, moving in with his sister in Los Santos trying to make it in the business. Unfortunately he finds himself in a life of crime shortly after arriving and must do what he can to make sure him and his sister stay alive.

Feel free to improvise on your auditions as I rather you be yourself than just reading off the script. Just like the Grand Theft Auto games, it's realistic but a bit out there so feel free to portray a character how you think they should be portrayed. I do need to mention as this is a series I intend to span over four years, I'll need people to make sure they can dedicate to their character for so long.

We will be using Discord for three things. Communicating (obviously,) recording (like having people together to record. Makes it more believeable,) and auditioning. Why for auditioning? I want to take the actors/actresses I choose from this website and have one on one sessions with them. That being said, if I choose you for a one on one audition and you don't make the part. I highly suggest auditioning for characters that appear later within the series.

Also, if you have the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V please let me know. While I will be using single player footage for some scenes. A lot of scenes will work better with multiple players (less workload for me,) and be more fluid. Just for the love of god do not use first person.

  • The Update

    So, it's been a year, three months and four days since the project went live. And I do apologize to those of you waiting for it. I've been dealing with personal demons since then and I haven't been able to really find that ability within me to work. Well that changes now; I've been working on re-writing the story (again.) Hopefully this is the last time after four years and (I think) eighth re-write now, I finally found a story that I liked. Now some key story moments have stayed, some have been modified, some have been removed. I hope you guys can stick with me, I'm trying to be as diligent as I can. Thankfully I have recently moved out of my parents so I won't be as busy anymore. (I was the most reliable person in the house next to my Mom. Don't worry it's not anything bad, everyone is just really busy and we're the only ones who really open up their schedule for everyone.) This means I'll dedicate more time to writing scripts and interacting with you guys. This time though, I'll be posting a new Casting Call, but not until I have at least season one done. I apologize for the wait, but I wanted this to be good. Not something rushed and awful like I thought up when I was 16/17 when I first starting creating this in 2015/16. Hope to work with you guys soon!

  • The Status of This Project

    Now before you go, aha I knew it, read the damn update please. First thing's first. No the project hasn't been cancelled, far from it. The problem is that I have been working on it since I first started High School back in 2013, and seeing how things that have been in the works for years have turned out recently. I want to make sure it's up to a quality I actually like. I've also been really busy with life, so it's hard to get motivated and work on the project with all my free time. What little I actually have. Secondly, I will be making a new account on the website which is to represent the studio I'm working on getting opened up. This will be where the future of this project lies on this website. So I apologize for making you guys go back and forth. I figure since I'm trying to get more people help with the project, I don't want everything to go through my personal accounts because it isn't fair to those who work on it as well. Thirdly, this year I hopefully get to make much more progress on this. The last time I made any real significant progress was 2016 when I posted the test pilot for a final project in High School. Later that year I had a full outline of the series which I'm now currently re-writing. There was a lot of elements that didn't fit the realistic and gritty tone I'm trying to portray in this series, (do you know how hard it was to try and make elements like the Stunt Races work in terms of the story!? Not that hard actually because there's still a sense of fiction but whatever.) Anyways this is a sense of what's happening right now. I'll try to get some progress done within the next week.   • Character Portrayals

    Hey everyone, I should be clear on when I stated feel free to portray a character how you want. Terms of mannerisms, that kinda thing. That's what I'm looking for. Other than that, it's really just improvise and have fun. Talk in a way you think the character would speak basically. More so in speech and dialect as opposed to accents. I'll be updating how I envisioned the characters sounding, (tbh I've been working on this project for four years and just wanted to get this damn casting call up.) With examples provided, but feel free to base your work around that and not copy.

19 - An artistic pyromaniac. Her art involves the use of destruction usually involving some widespread fires. A smart ass just like her best friend Troy. Laid back one moment, ready to rip your head off cheerily the next.

21 - Troy's older sister. She's an up and coming singer who moved to L.S. prior to the series to begin her career. She is mature and hard working. She can also be snarky and can definitely defend herself in a fight, verbal or physical.


  • (After Troy reprimands her for seeing an old film in the theater) 

    I repeat, ninety bucks. And that doesn't include the amount you spent on theater food. Actually no, you spent more than that since you dragged me and Kate along, and the only way I was going was if you paid for me. God, it was just so ugh in there. Warm, smelly... damn.

25 - A Cartel big shot. He's an asshole and has that tough guy look to him, but on the inside he does care about those who don't deserve trouble.  Used to date Jessica.

20 - Your typical alternative 20 something. He's known to be remarkably chill though despite him having the alternative label. Grew up in a rich family but despised it. One of Jessica and Troy's best friends. Like Troy, he also wants a career in acting  but is willing to open up to other film making aspects.

51 - Your typical dirty old man. A famous actor back in his day, had to take a break after breaking his leg. He's now a screen writer and acting coach. He's also a mentor to Troy after meeting him during a few seminars.

19 - Typically bratty rich girl. Her Mother owns the Gonzolves Cartel. Jealous of her Mother's reputation but will still use it to her advantage. She's spoiled and does pretty much whatever she wants. She takes the same classes as Troy does.

41 - Terrifying Cartel leader. Known to coerce people into working for her. She knows how to work inside someone's head, but will use violence when needed. Killed her way to the top of the Cartel. Is way more feared than Martin Madrazo was when he ran the Cartel. She tries to be a good parent to Alexis but is always too busy to actually spend time with her. Has a weird obsession with using a spoon to carve out a man's certain.... areas.

  • Martin Madrazo was a misogynistic, dumb ass who only knew to come at people with force! It was amazing when Phillips took off his ear.

  • Now, Mr. Walker. You could co-operate with us and just work with no qualms. Or do something really stupid that'll result in you probably adding to the list of injuries you already have.

  • I'm only trying to bring peace to this city. May have to start a gang war, but a little bloodshed is a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
