Nine for the Tomb - A Locked Tomb Fan Podcast [SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRE LOCKED TOMB SERIES]

Project Overview

Nine for the Tomb is a fan podcast created by me (Jelly/Jack!!), which intends to take scenes from Tamsyn Muir’s The Locked Tomb series and convert them into audio drama format. It is the first podcast I’ve ever created, and I am excited to be directing it as well! I will be providing feedback on auditions as they’re submitted, because I love to hear them!


I am casting for several lead roles, including Gideon and Harrowhark, and secondary roles a bit later on, like Abigail Pent. Please note that three roles have already been cast offsite (Camilla Hect, Ianthe Tridentarius and Dulcinea Septimus).

Submissions must follow these guidelines:


  1. Any submissions should be comfortable with foul language, generally intended for a 16+ audience.

  2. Have clear audio, so no muffled audio or background noise; it isn’t necessary to have a high-quality or expensive mic, but I want to be able to hear your voice!

  3. Leave your Discord in your audition description :) 

  4. Roles will be unpaid, unfortunately. I’m not in a financial position to pay voice actors at the moment, but I would love to be able to one day! But please know that payment is not guaranteed.

  5. You can submit auditions for multiple roles if you wish!

  6. If possible, please submit your audition in an AABBCC format; emphasizing different words can completely change the tone of the line, and I’d love to hear differing takes on the lines!

  7. Show emotion! There are lines picked specifically because of how emotional they are, and there are some heavy themes covered in the entire book series, so be warned!

  8. Have fun! Feel free to play around with tones, cadence, pronunciations and emotions however you see fit!

  • Deadline Extension 2: Electric Boogaloo

    Hi everyone! I am so so sorry, but I've got to extend the deadline again. The new deadline is now August 12th, 2024. It's been a rough couple of weeks, and life has prevented me from getting everything done, and forcing myself to do so has taken a toll on my mental health. But, I'm finally feeling like myself again. I'm extending the deadline again, and I'll update the cast list soon to include the secondary cast! Happy Pride Month, and again, I'm really sorry.

    hi everyone!! just a little update for everyone: the deadline has been extended!! you now have until June 20th, 2024 to submit your auditions, and i will be adding roles like abigail pent, magnus quinn and protesilaus ebdoma hopefully within the next couple of weeks!! things have been a little crazy, but we're pushing through it! thank you for all of the submissions so far, they've all been incredible! thanks for reading this little update, and i'll see you all in the River lol

Gideon Nav is the cavalier primary to the heir to the House of the Ninth, Harrowhark Nonagesimus. Falling from the atmosphere in a bio-container as an infant, she was raised in Ninth House as an indentured servant until The Emperor sent for the heirs of the Houses to come to study the path to Lyctorhood. 

 I would love for the voice to have a bit of performative toughness. While Moira Quirk’s version can be a baseline, I would love to hear your interpretation!

Harrowhark Nonagesimus (HA-row-hark Noh-nah-GUESS-i-mus) is the Ninth Saint to the Serve the King Undying, formerly known as the Reverend Daughter of Drearburh and Heir to the House of the Ninth. Born of her parent's genocidal plot, she is a powerful bone adept with the entire future of the Ninth House on her shoulders.

Voice should be holier-than-thou, completely standoffish. Think Shadowheart from Baldur’s Gate 3, but higher pitched (that’s just a baseline of course, any interpretations are welcome!)

Palamedes Sextus (Pal-a-ME-dees or Pal-AM-a-dees) is the Heir to the Sixth House and Master Warden of the Library. 

Intelligent and contemplative. A good vocal starting point could be a slightly-younger Percy de Rolo (The Legend of Vox Machina), and eventually I would love it if Palamedes and Camilla could sound similar! Upon callbacks you’ll be provided with Camilla's recording to work off of, but for now, just show me your interpretation!

Coronabeth Tridentarius (Cor-OWN-a-beth Try-den-TAR-ee-us) is Heir to the House of the Third and Crown Princess of Ida. Lacking any true necromantic ability herself, she has spent her entire life glued to her sister, Ianthe Tridentarius's, side to create the illusion of a powerful pair. Naberius Tern, the cavalier she shares with her sister, is fiercely protective of her.

Coronabeth's voice should be more confident than Ianthe’s voice, so a stronger, sunnier tone. Upon callbacks you’ll be provided with Ianthe’s recording to work off of, but for now, just show me your interpretation!

Naberius Tern (Na-BEER-e-us TURN) is the Cavalier Primary to the Heirs to the House of the Third, Coronabeth and Ianthe Tridentarius. Naberius believes that being a fantastic duelist makes him the perfect cavalier, and he isn't afraid to share this opinion.

 A confidence that borders on arrogance; maybe lean in the direction of Joey Batey’s Jaskier from ‘The Witcher’, but interpretations are welcome!

 (PIRRA DVAY) is the cavalier primary to the Third Saint to Serve the King Undying, Gideon the First, Commander of the Second House, Head of Trentham Special Intelligence, and one of the original sixteen disciples to serve the Emperor at Canaan House after the Resurrection. 

Voice can be fairly deep, maybe with a bit of a rasp, as Pyrrha is a character that smokes. Interpretations welcome!

His Celestial Kindliness, the First Reborn, and The Necrolord Prime is the Emperor and primary deity of The Nine Houses. For ten thousand years he, his Lyctoral Saints, and his Cohort have been at war with an unnamed enemy. 

Would love for his voice to carry a bit of Jonathan Sims from ‘The Magnus Archives’ in terms of tone, but beyond that it's up to interpretation!

(AWG-us-tin KWIN-kway) is the First Saint to Serve the King Undying and the co-founder of Koniortos Court and the Fifth House alongside his brother and cavalier, Alfred Quinque.

Would love it if he sounded slightly like Tim Stoker from ‘The Magnus Archives’ in terms of tone, but beyond that it's up to interpretation!
