Star Wars: Kanan: The Last Padawan Episodes 3 and 4

Star Wars: Kanan: The Last Padawan Episodes 3 and 4

Project Overview

Grand Stag Studios is proud to announce that we will be collaborating with Krayt Dragon Films to bring to life the Star Wars: Kanan: The Last Padawan series! If you have been following the project, you know that we just released Episode 1 last week!

We wanted to keep the ball rolling for Episodes 3 and 4 while we finish production on Episode 2.

As usual, we have the same great team working to put this project together along with the same base ground rules.

Ground rules before you audition.

- Please make sure you can commit to the series and reprising your roles.

- Have a better than average microphone. Our sound engineers can only do so much to enhance quality.

- Have a Discord or be able to create one. It allows for us to communicate and upload documents much easier than Skype or any other platform.

- Certain characters, such as those already portrayed in media, will need to be similar if not a dead ringer for your voice to be cast. I am referring to characters such as the Clones, Hera, Zeb, Sabine, etc. However, please do not let this discourage you from auditioning for those roles!

- Lastly, enjoy yourselves!

Thank you again to Krayt Dragon Films for this incredible opportunity! And may the odds, and the Force, forever be in your favor.

  • Episode 2 Released!

Episode 2 just released this past Saturday morning on Krayt Dragon Film's YouTube page! It has been a blast working with all of our phenomenal actors! This means that we will start working on the next two Episodes beginning this weekend! Every episode we try to do something different and add something new and exciting to the process of making the dub. This time we heavily focused on the music and ambient sounds. While we got it as close to perfect as possible in our two week production schedule, it has already received high praise as being the best comic dub series on YouTube! This poor, beautiful thug has one line. Well... more like a word. And if you guessed that word is the last word as he gets shot, then you would be correct!

Kanan: The Last Padawan is kind to its one-liner extras. And when we say kind, we mean a slow reaction to your character's head getting bashed together with extra's head.

  • "What're you...?!" (as in what are you doing)

This security guard is not your average gun for hire. He is slow, dim-witted, deep-voiced, and heavily armed. I am being told by our editor that describes well over half of all hired guns. Neat.

For your audition, you can either add a helmet/metallic effect to your voice or we can do it in post-editing.

This should help with context: http://readcomicbooksonline.net/reader/Kanan_The_Last_Padawan/Chapter_04/7

Being bloated, green-skinned, and literally sound like a pig wasn't enough for this poor guy. After being mugged in the street by two Clone Troopers and beaten to near death, this pig squeals for his life.

He is panicked and scarred for his life.

And if you don't see the redundancy he swears worse than a sailor... thankfully this extras casting call is over so I don't have to make any more Dad jokes.

  • *snort* "Dunno where they went, I swear!"

  • *squeal* "Didn't see any Jedi, I swear!"

  • "I contact you! First thing! I swear!"
