Star Trek: Into Abridgement
Project Overview
Greetings and salutations potential auditoners,
Do you like Star Trek? Yes, no, maybe? Well none of that really matters as long as you simply have interest in being part of this abridgment of the classic Star Trek the Animated Series. Hi, I am Slayerrunes, a fellow voice actor and the creator of abridged series such as Black Jack the Abridged Series and, now, Star Trek: Into Abridgement, and it's because of this latter series that I am now posting here.
I currently represent a channel known as Collaborated Abridging, a Machinima-esque channel dedicated to being a place where people can share their works within the abridging community (Link to the YouTube channel:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC70...hQf0xhmJ-tEEsA). As such, I've recently decided to create an "original" series for this channel that has very little to do with my own outside of the fact that I'll be writing, editing, and doing a little bit of the voice acting for the abridgement.
Seeing as this is a new series, pretty much every part within it is open. From the most major of characters to those red shirts in the background, this series has a part for everyone that's willing to be a part of it.

What I'm Looking For
Decent mic quality. Your mic doesn't have to be something sent down from the gods on a cloud made of the tears of virgins and gold spun from the beards of miners from 1849; it just needs to be good enough that it's decently clear, doesn't peak, and lacks popping.
Dedication. I'm not expecting for there to be a majorly consistent upload schedule for this show, mainly because this comes down to the fact that this is more so of a hobby for me, but I'd prefer for those who are auditioning to be able to stick with the show and send lines in in a timely fashion after the scripts are sent out. I completely understand that people have lives outside of these things and that, as such, life can get in the way of other things.
Skype. This is mainly because this is how I prefer to get ahold of people in this sort of thing.
Deadline: March 14
As I priorly mentioned, most of the characters are open for auditioning, save Kirk. Even though I will have listed what I am currently looking for in the role I am completely open to you, the voice actor, developing your own interpretation of the character. I feel that it is pertinant for an actor to be able to fully envelop themselves in the character that they are playing, no matter how small the part. I feel that the identity of a character is mainly developed through how an actor presents it, so if you have a version of the character that you feel I may like better then please, by all means, send a rendition of this idea with your audition. I am also fine with you sending in improvisational lines as long as you also send in the lines that I am currently asking for.

Characteristics: He's a blunt man, short and simple. He tends to ask questions, even if they're purely rhetorical. He likes to know what's happening at all times and isn't afraid to speak his mind.
Voice: Medium to Low range.
It looks like our path's blocked.(Medium-low volume, more person to person)
What the hell is that thing!?(Shocked, confused, out-loud)
You did it, Jim! (Enthusiastic)
Characteristics: He's... He's... He's pretty average. He isn't the most outspoken person, but he does what he needs to. When he needs to take command, he'll take command, although he is a bit awkward when put on the spot.
Voice: Medium to Medium-High.
Captain, the ship seems to have stopped moving. (Blunt, slightly concerned)
Ah... That's... That's cool... (Awkward, out loud)
This is basically a spot for those who'd like to do extra voices for the series, so that I may see who my options are in this catagory
(Just come up with something, anything.)
Characteristics: He's a simple man. He's pretty much the straight man here, or, at least, he thinks he is. Prone to the occassional moment of silliness, he's probably the most serious out of all of the characters.
Voice: Any range will do.
Captain, are you talking about Uhura again? (Slightly concerned)
You wouldn't. (Serious, blunt)
Maybe if I flex my muscles, the door will open.(Serious, lowly/personally spoken)
Characteristics: Much like the actual series, the way I've written Spock is that he's a man of logic, though, in my version, he's a bit less questioning of this logic (though this was still a bit prevelant in the original source material). If the idea is presented to him as fact then he's incredibly likely to accept it. He's not afraid to tell his captain when he's wrong, and continues to spout his theories, even if they make no sense.
Voice: I'm looking for something a bit more calm and collected. He isn't one to be prone to anger and emotions, but this doesn't mean he should sound like a complete automaton, there should be a tinge of humanity in the voice. If you've ever seen any of the movies or STTOS then you know what I'm talking about here. I'm looking for a Medium to Medium-Low sounding voice here.

I'm getting a lot of electrical interference in this room. (Calm, collected, tinge of worry)
Characteristics: She's one to do her job dutifully. She stands up for herself and can sometimes come off as this sort of action heroine-esque person.
Voice: I could go with either male or female here, preferably female, unless a male can create a rendition of this character that I find more than suitable for the role. If female, I'd prefer a more Medium to Medium-High voice.
We've lost contact with the engine room. (Blunt, slightly concerned)
You know the sharks you have guarding the manual override? They're dead. (Exasperated, Action Hero Like)
