Project Overview

SUP GUYS 

welcome to another instance of "Stephanie wants everything to be accurate and so shes going to kill herself by accepting fan auditions and sacrificing her weekend to wade through probably 3000 or so YAY"


In all seriousness I am really excited to start this project and it's always really fun to meet new VA's! Plus hearing that I am the reason some people start voice acting always makes me feel warm and fuzzy so hopefully I can inspire a few more new actors with this project. 

NOW THEN 

AUDITION RULES: 





  • MUST HAVE A DECENT MICROPHONE 




  • LINES WILL BE EXPECTED WITHIN AROUND 72-96 HOURS AKA 3-4 DAYS



  • I would love to record this particular webcomic all together! There are a lot of conversations, so you must be okay with group calling to record



  • Lines will be expected in mp3 or wav format



  • Two-Three takes expected! 





  • If there is static when I listen to it I will delete the audition immediately without giving you a chance. No background noise either. This is a serious project and I expect professionalism from your recording equipment. 



  • Must have an email or Skype.



  • Auditioners must be at least 15 years old.  If you somehow get into the project and are under 15 and I find out, I will recast you. 



  • Auditions will end within around a week, Or October 8th. This is a hard "whenever I feel like they're ending on October 8th." No complaining if you get it in 20 minutes before midnight and I've already made my decision. I might also cast some early, so get on this as soon as possible. 



  • Possible future work! If you audition and we end up really hitting it off and you're an awesome VA, I will probably invite you for extra guest work on the channel! SO please let me know beforehand if you're not okay with that if you are cast. 




Now, for accents. Each of these characters are from some distinct ethnic background, and I'm not here to discourage you from doing an accent. 

If you think you can make it work, awesome! Please do so! 

However, if you can't, please audition with no accent. Accents can be tricky, and I want to make sure this project is the best project possible.

    Yo guys, if you're going to audition don't include anything in the beginning describing who you are and all that, if you're cast I'll be getting that from you regardless XD It just makes your audition seem unprofessional if I have to wade through 30-40 seconds of you going "umm... so yeah.... here we go I guess!..." just get right to the lines~

Hotaru is the leader of the bunch. She's very headstrong and responsible, and has a crush on Kayla. Although tough for everyone else, she secretly has a tender side, and is responsible for helping the more emotional of the group. 

She's Asian American, so if you do decide to do an accent, which I'm totally down for, don't make it too overblown, because that will definitely ruin the whole thing. It's not in her character. 

  • "But don't worry my buds! Together we'll be alright!" "HYA HA HAHA! YOUR KICKS ARE WEAK!" 

  • "We got back our backpacks from the changing room! Cute outfits have been recovered!" 

  • "Alright, so since you're so bad at surviving, I should lead us. You literally got bit by the first zombie you came in contact with.

Kayla is the chill, laid back member of the group who also develops feelings for Hotaru later on. She's not super emotional, but she is the type to love very  deeply, so try to include that in any sort of voice approach. The stereotypical laid back lower set voice isn't gonna mesh well with her more emotional scenes if you take that approach. 



I do imagine a more lower set female for her, and she is fairly physically fit. She's also African American, if that helps to narrow down the range of voice I'm looking for.  

  • "I... should've asked her out. *tear sounds* What? That's only in American Movies. Oh, you're so full of it!" 

  • "Hey-up! Yeah! I love dogs!  -- Sooo... what in the hell do we do with her zombie dog?" 

  • "It looks a bit unstable, I'm afraid it'll fall down on you when you go in. I'm gonna.... HRRGh.... hold it for you."

Ana Sofia is the colder one of the group. A wealthy Latina heiress, she has a chip on her shoulder and a prickly demeanor. She's hard to approach, and doesn't try at all to make anyone feel welcome in her presence. 



Definitely another lower set female. If you do want to take an accented approach, don't go too overboard. An accent or non accent, both will be fine, and if you can't do a consistent one its worse than not doing one at all. She's a bit heavy set, so definitely have a bit of weight to the voice. 

  • "I see what you are doing and I hate it." 

  • "So you'd rather fight zombies with a toothpick? Is that small enough for you?"

  • "Whats up? ... that or the firemen are really poor artists." "What? No, no, listen! Let me tell you how I keep sane in this world. As long as I survive, everything is totally fine, that's how I think."

Lakka is a very gentle type of person that has a secret violent side. She's very easy to approach, a little quiet, and has a very light and feathery look about her. I definitely imagine a sort of airy, more high pitched voice to her. She doesn't get much development until very later on in the comic, so if you're auditioning for her be in it for the long haul.

She's a fashion lover and very pretty, so she probably has a slight hint of vanity as well. 



  • "Uh, could I get something small and light?" "... A chainsaw would've been so much cooler." 

  • "A hammer isn't cute! Also, I'm not sure I like this violent person I'm turning into.... It's perfect, thank you so much!" 

  • "Oh no!!! My mom was gonna make me spaghetti!"
