Samsara: Reunion - Minecraft Animated Series TEASER
Project Overview
Hello there! We're casting for a teaser of our upcoming Minecraft animated series, Samsara: Reunion. It is a science fantasy designed to push the boundaries of in-game visuals and storytelling. The teaser (this project) is a 30-40 seconds preview that introduces our protagonist, Erin Shiranami, and provides exciting first-looks at our antagonist and story.
Available RolesWe're casting for two roles for this project: Erin Shiranami, and Edward Blackwood. If you are cast this time, we may ask to recast you for the production of the main 12-episode series.
Talents should speak English - bonus points if you know basic Japanese pronunciations!

The audition deadline is November 22nd, 2024. We will notify our selected talents by November 24th and send them the script by the same day of their confirmation. We will need to receive all lines by November 29th (there won't be a lot of them), and unfortunately this cannot be extended.
What to ExpectWe are a group of university students with a true passion for Minecraft and strong beliefs in its potential as a filmmaking medium. During your 5 days with us, you will be invited to our welcoming Discord server and work closely with our team to shape this teaser. If you are a Minecraft enthusiast like all of us, expect exclusive insights related to how we use the game. Feel free to audition if you don't have Discord! However, it is strongly recommended to participate through it as Discord allows for easier collaboration and communication.

Erin is the main protagonist of Samsara, and is one of the two voiced characters in this teaser. She is an orphaned girl called to the city of Kaihara to pilot a mech called the Genesion, she now reluctantly works for the security organisation Alter to protect mankind from the malevolent supernatural force known as the Teikai.
Erin is a reserved and soft-spoken girl who struggles with her self-esteem. Before coming to Kaihara, she was apathetic towards life and could not be bothered to care about anything, even her own well-being. She existed in a state of constant self-loathing, unable to find a reason to justify her existence. Over time, she becomes more confident and learns to live for her own sake.
Erin has a kind heart and is gentle by nature, but she tends to care too much about others' impressions of her. On one hand, it means that she unconsciously avoids forming new bonds for fear of harming herself, but on the other it makes her a sweet and loyal friend towards the few people that she trusts with her heart.

Edward Blackwood, also known as Mors Tenebris, is the main antagonist of Samsara. He is a ruthless businessman who secretly covets the power of the Teikai for himself.
Blackwood shows little regard for human life, even for that of his friends. He has a fascination with death and derives a sense of pleasure from watching the suffering of others, regardless of who they are to him. He has a twisted sense of self-preservation, and places importance not on his life but on the things he achieves. On more than one occasion, he has expressed an interest in experiencing death for himself.
He is a skilled manipulator, willing to offer great degrees of power or resort to brainwashing to recruit powerful individuals into the Order's ranks. Despite the sense of danger that accompanies him, Blackwood possesses an uncanny charisma that naturally draws people to him, preventing them from leaving his side. He speaks with a practiced politeness and rarely loses his cool, but this refined manner of speech quickly gives way to genuine, unrestrained anger the moment a situation turns against his favour.
