Rogue State
Project Overview
ROGUESTATE is a Middle Eastern themed strategy game for the PC under development by Little Red Dog Gamesaiming Q3 2015 release. The game is a challenging turn-based strategy game with a point-and-click feel. No two games will ever be played the same way, and players will be forced to face difficult decisions balancing the needs of various segments of the fictional society they are ruling. This game examines current events through a satirical lens, while handling the history, culture and current affairs of the Middle East in a very tasteful, thoughtful, yet playful fashion. You can follow us on Twitter at @LRDGames.
We are seeking volunteers interested in playing one of the following twelve roles. Most of the characters must sound convincingly from the Middle East. We are looking for close-enough Arab accents that can include North Africa or the Middle East. Persians are also welcome. Pakistani accents may well work too in a clinch. Willing to experiment with Central Asian accents also. If this seems insurmountable an obstacle, send us an audition reel anyway. We'll work with anyone who we think we can find a good fit for. The game plays a little bit like Civilization, in that the foreign leaders can be negotiated with and interacted with at any point in the game. No character, including the protagonist, has more than 100 lines, and most average at around half that figure.

PM Nazarian is a schemer who always has an agenda. He should be played cagey, putting up a façade of friendship until the time is right.
I wanted to be the first towelcome the liberation of the People's Republic of Basenji from the tyranny of the Salman family. (pleasant, gracious, welcoming)
Well, congratulations. Basenji is now a nuclear-armed pariah state. I hope it was worth it. (belligerant)
I'm not sure what I find more insulting -- the fact that you are conspiring with the Americans to interfere in our affairs or that you think we would be naive enough to accept it. (angry, dismissive)
A leader of a fictional foreign country, the General’s interests may vary from game to game, but we would suggest ad-libbing him as a brutal and insecure tyrant.

Fatima is a stand-offish foreign leader, uncompromising in her ideals and not generally seen as a favorable regional partner.

Lots of room for interpretation for this character. Originally envisioned as Central Asian, but can literally go anywhere with it.

President Saab is rich, handsome and brilliant. He is designed to be the most likable foreign leader, and has a cult of personality surrounding him. He is the Clooney of the Middle East, and should be played accordingly.

A leader of a fictional foreign country, King Zaki knows he’s going to be around a lot longer than anyone else in the region. I’d suggest ad-libbing him as a patronizing, belittling, Western-educated monarch.

General Addad is lazy and indifferent to the cause. He doesn’t particularly respect the player character, but will obey orders and convey critical information as needed.
We know very little about them. We must increase our intelligence capacity in order to root them out.
(referring to a terrorist organization operating within your borders)
We have received word that they sent their own soldiers in to raid a small compound located near our sharedborder. (factual)
I couldn't speculate. The military is distrustful of the government right now, sir.
Aide to the Glorious Leader, Tariq provides the Glorious Leader with insight into the internal machinations of the politics of the nation. Tariq also has an important role in the story, and is a true believer in the cause.
Excellency, your brother's influence grows behind closed doors. I would advise that you take steps to solidify the support of the public, and your cabinet. (concerned)
We fought with you to overthrow the King, and now for the first time in our history, we have a real chance at self-determination (proud and hopeful)
He looks a little like Anthony Quinn’s portrayal of Auda Abu Tayi in Lawrence of Arabia. It’d be interesting to see his mannerisms borrowed from the same.

The game's protagonist can be played as either a male or female (male portrait shown, female portrait pending). The Glorious Leader always maintains an unnervingly calm but confident disposition. He/she is cold and calculating, but the player can choose to play as benevolently or brutally as they feel they want to.
Yes, due to my careful planning, the effect on the Basenji economy has been minimalized.
Basenji will be under pressure as private businesses struggle to stay profitable.
I hope there weren't too many injuries. Tell General Addad to mobilize first-responders.
Lt. Malek is a curt but professional soldier.
