Return to Dominaria Episode 4
Project Overview
As Wizards of the Coast continues to release their weekly Magic Story updates, it is our goal on the Voice of All podcast to bring these stories to life through audio.
Last week we met a curiously down to earth angel named Tiana. This week, we tell her origin story, as well as that of the vampire Arvad! You can check out this week's story here:

As a general casting note, I do not typically have any voice requirements in mind for characters. I would much rather hear your interpretations and choose from among them.

Once a proud Benalish knight, Arvad was turned into a vampire by Kazarov, a descendant of the notorious Sengir line. He still honors his oath, serving as the Weatherlight's security chief. Holy magic allows him to tolerate sunlight and partially suppress his hunger, and so far he has managed to feed without violating his ideals. Arvad is a stoic, serious, somewhat sad man, though not without a sense of humor, and is quite wise. He has an air of exhaustion about him, struggling to keep the inner vampire at bay.
Arvad is a major character in the Dominaria storyline. Should you accept the role, you will be asked to reprise it in future stories.
"I'm Arvad, Knight of Benalia. I was captured and made a vampire. I've tried not to harm anyone, and mostly succeeded." [even, but slightly resigned as he explains his condition. pronunciations: AR-vahd. Beh-NAH-lee-uh]
"That's very generous. I agree." [surprised and pleased the humans would allow him to stay near their camp. agreeing to their terms]
"Just because your original reason for existence was destroyed doesn't mean you can't get another one. Believe me." [giving advice]
Lyra is a leader of the Church of Serra, an ancient angel who immigrated to Dominaria from Serra's Realm before its collapse and about as close as one could get to a living representative of Serra herself. She is calm, confident, stoic. Though not a major part of the cast, she may reappear in future stories. Should she do so, you may be asked to reprise the role.
"You are Tiana, and you have been born in answer to the prayers of mortals, for a purpose." [greeting a newly born angel. joyous, but ritualistic]
"It's very important. It has an intricate system of lifts and engines that carry the water from the reservoir up the side of a plateau to the town built atop it. Hundreds of mortals depend on it." [explaining what the new angel is to be guarding]
"This is the work of the Cabal." [grim and disgusted, surveying the burning ruins of a town]
Afra is a cleric of the Church of Serra, helping Tiana prepare for her holy mission. She is aware of the odd nature of Tiana's appearance, but doesn't wish to worry her, trying to act like everything's normal.
"I've heard these people have been praying hard, for some time. The commander was very pleased to learn you were finally coming into being."
"Yes, probably that. But don't worry, nothing's wrong. Holy Serra doesn't make mistakes." [with a slight wince like you were avoiding the idea. Tiana has suggested she's getting an escort because Lyra thinks something is wrong with her]
