'Prey' - Short Fantasy Radio Drama
Project Overview
Prey is a student led, dystopic future fictional radio drama. Set in London uk year 2146, after a cataclysmic event known as ‘the end’ led to wiping out 99% of the human population, a line of generations have scavenged their surroundings to survive. Sea levels dramatically dropped connecting the uk to the rest of mainland Europe. Temperatures raised, forcing global migrations of species. The animal kingdom has climbed the food chain once more, humans have become the prey.

- Piece will not be broadcast on Radio, only submitted to markers for academic assesment purposes.
- I may ask for small retakes on lines, or Skype hosted group recording sessions.

‘Kai’ – The experienced rugged male lead (age 34), born into a family of rough survivours, knows little about ‘the end’still more so than Ashe. He is an experiencded scavanger & hunter, confident and athletic, with excellent animalistic like senses. years of desensatisation to violence has destroyed his ability to empathise with - and trust in – others.
Okay, move up to the third column. Think I have a clean shot with the bow, the second I release. You pounce.
Oh, hey Ashe! What you doing up there? Dinner’s getting cold down here.
‘Ashe’ the younger female emotional anchor of the duo (age 21), was picked up and cared for by Kai from a young age. She can hardly remember the incident that killed her family. She thinks of kai as a Father. very bright and forsighted, she establishes routes and risk assesments of scavanger missions. not as physically strong or fast as kai, has to rely on him for the sticky situations. Has a burning desire to uncover her past, often to the dissapointment of kai. She should have a soft and emotion filled voice, with determination and calmness. Full of questiones and curiosity, she has much to learn. Her past is her weakness, she feels down and upset when reflecting on her past.
It’s got two choices; go down, and snag. Or up, and jump. Either way, capped legs or ankles.
