Pilot for a YouTube Horror Radio Show.

Pilot for a YouTube Horror Radio Show.

Project Overview

I am searching for a female voice over to record the pilot of what I hope will become a big hit later on. Currently with the working title of "The Phantom Dreams" it will be an episodic anthology horror series with 6 episodes planned for Season 1. The stories told will be written by me and other horror writers, and will be in the style of "campfire scary stories".  Think if you had The Twilight Zone in your pocket.

I'm aiming to release these in summer, and will require an actor who can communicate regularly on Google Hangouts, has professional recording equipment and wouldn't mind using their real name in the credits. A stage name is fine, but I'd rather not credit it to "Dragonslayer34" or something like that. I'm taking this very seriously.

The pilot episode will be based on the story "The Ice Princess" which is a short horror story with bullying as its main theme. Sample lines are below.

Aim for a style that sounds like a teenage girl attempting to tell this story to someone older. If you can put your own spin on it, even better.

  • I had suffered from bullying for as long as I can remember. Girls on the playground would pull my hair. Boys in the halls would call me ugly. I could even hint some of the teachers thought I wasn’t the brightest kid there.

  • I know you’ve been crying,” she said. “Your face tells an entire story. What’s up? You miss your family?”

I wanted to hit her in the face, but my fist was too cold to even move. Instead, I just nodded.

  • None of the girls ever pranked me again, and for the rest of my school years, I spent most of my time alone.

    Except at night.

Sometimes, I can hear her voice by the window. I can hear the sound of the ice breaking in my head. I can hear her cries as no one rushes to help her.

But most of all, I can feel those chills every time I try to sleep.
