Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney "The First Turnabout" Fandub

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney "The First Turnabout" Fandub

Project Overview

Hello talented Voice Actors

This project is a fandub project for Ace Attorney. Notably the story "The First turnabout." An incredibly well known story from the popular visual novel.

As we can note from the games. The characters all speak in text box format. However i thought it would be nice to provide people with a fully voice acted edition of the story for youtube. If you are interested in portraying fun and quirky characters ("There's a lot of them in Ace Attorney") do be sure to apply. The deadline is a week from the date this casting call was released.

In Phoenix Wright's first trial as a defense attorney he must defend his childhood friend Larry Butz, who has been accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend Cindy Stone.

We will be working on preferably discord. However if that is unavailable we can find a compromise. I will add those casted into a mini server to meet and work with each other.

But don't forget the most important thing. . . Have Fun!

  • The deadline draws near!

First off i'd like to thank each and every one of you for taking interest in this fandub project and the deadline is just hours away. While I cannot make any decisions yet until every plausible audition has been entered before the deadline, me and some helpers have discussed auditions and shared our thoughts. Shortlisting will begin once the deadline has been reached and from there the roles will be cast. Good luck to everyone and thank you once again for auditioning.

A novice defence attorney taking part in his first ever case. A case to defend his friend who he owes one to.

Naturally Phoenix is very nervous in the case.

Phoenix is a relaxed guy who works hard but generally believes things will work out. Unfortunately, this makes him a little naive, so friends tend to take advantage of him.

Phoenix tends to talk to himself (in his head) So when a line has (these brackets) he is thinking to himself.

  • (Whew, I know this one! Glad I read the case report cover to cover so many times. It's... wait... Uh-oh! No... no way! I forgot! I'm drawing a total blank here!)

  • Frankly, I find that hard to believe! Your statement directly contradicts the autopsy report. The autopsy notes the time of death at sometime after 4PM. There was nobody to... er... no "body" to find at 1:00 PM! How do you explain this three-hour gap?

  • Hold it right there! The prosecution has said there was a blackout at the time of the discovery! And this record proves it!

Phoenix's Boss, a defence attorney. Mia is at phoenix's trial to guide him and help in any way she can. She's known for her undying belief in her clients innocence.

  • You hold the key! It's in the evidence! Compare the witness's testimony to the evidence at hand. There's bound to be a contradiction in there!

  • Alright, Wright, this is it. The real deal!

  • Phoenix! Are you absolutely SURE you're up to this? You don't even know the victim's name!?

The Defendant of the case. Larry Butz is accused of murdering his girlfriend.

He's not dealing with the death too well. Getting over excited to easily. And lashing out. While Larry is mostly harmless, he has a way of attracting trouble, which led to people close to him inventing the saying "When something smells, it's usually the Butz."

  • Oh, it's all over... I... I'm finished. Finished! I can't live in a world without her! I can't! Who... who took her away from me, Nick? Who did this!? Aww, Nick, ya gotta tell me! Who took my baby away!?

  • I wasn't dumped! She just wasn't taking my phone calls. Or seeing me... Ever. WHAT'S IT TO YOU, ANYWAY!?

  • Dude! Nick! Whaddya mean, "irrelevant"!? That cheatin' she-dog! I'm gonna die. I'm just gonna drop dead! Yeah, and when I meet her in the afterlife... I'm going to get to the bottom of this!

A prosecutor who is prosecuting the case against Larry Butz. Winston Payne is overconfident and smuggling, but also easy to rattle. In most trials he prosecutes, he usually starts strong and acts high and mighty, but quickly begins to panic once his case is broken down, to the point where the witnesses will start to defend themselves and ignore Payne completely.

  • Mr. Butz, what you describe is generally what we mean by "dumped." In fact, she had completely abandoned you... and was seeing other men! She had just returned from overseas with one of them the day before the murder!

  • As the witness stated, this statue is indeed a clock. The neck is a switch. You just tilt it, and it says the time out loud. As it doesn't look like a clock, I submitted it as a statue. My apologies.

  • W-w-what's the meaning of this? This is all baseless conjecture!

The true killer of Cindy Stone. Sahwit is smarmy, sycophantic, and nosy, but hides a deep anger problem. He also has a habit of telling fairly transparent lies, then getting angry when he is challenged. His words often betray his excellent poker face, thereby giving away his true nature.

  • I was going door-to-door, selling subscriptions when I saw a man fleeing an apartment.

  • Oh, that! Oh, er... well, I... Gee, that's a really good question!

  • I... I...! That... that day... I... I never! Look... I... the clock... I heard, no! I mean, I saw...Saw... nggg! Gwaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

The judge is naïve and gullible, but he is said to give the correct verdict without fail. He tends to change his mind very easily, a trait that lawyers on both sides of the courtroom often use to their advantage.

  • Your conduct during this trial will decide the fate of your client. Murder is a serious charge. For your client's sake, I hope you can control your nerves.

  • I see. So the murder weapon was a table clock after all. Well, Mr. Wright? It appears that the witness's testimony was correct. This is a clock. Do you have any problems with his testimony now?

  • Order! Order in the court! Mr. Payne, the prosecution may call its witness.
