Overchord (A comedy band)
Project Overview
Overchord is a band I started little over a month ago with one other member, who left because his personal life got in the way. Also he was lazy and I always wanted to get stuff done.
After that, I decided to continue on alone but was unable to find inspiration or motivation through working alone.
What I want is someone zaney and driven who can match my passion for making wacky bullshit songs in what I can only describe as a mix between NSP and Pink Guy with a dosage of Weird Al for good measure.
If you love making music, singing and or writing songs then put down an audition.
The requirements are relatively simple and unprofesional sounding.
1) Don't be a dick. A project works better if everyone involved gets along.
2) While I don't expect job-level dedication I wont tolerate a severe lack of interest and reluctance. There comes a point where a relaxed project turns into no one doing anything.
3) A lack of oversensitivity. I want to make it very clear that I fully intend to be liberal with songwriting. For example, one of my more popular concepts was titled "Ricardo the Puerto Rican Rapist". Catchy, am I right?
4) No straight up kids. I will make exceptions based on maturity and talent, of course. However, to put it bluntly, I fucking hate kids. Kids are, for the most part, unreliable. Not to mention less years of life equate to less experience, both in abilities and life. If you're under 16 then feel free to audition but keep in mind that you will be regarded the same as anyone else, regardless of age.
5) Equipment quality. If you just want to help write stuff and be a general morale officer, I fully support that! Sometimes having a passionate person around is enough to drive a project. However, if singing or playing instruments is your shtick then you'll need a decent mic as a minimum.
With all that said and done, the auditions bit is below. I was even nice enough to categorize each specific role I'm looking for. Feel free to audition for as many as you want. Bye!

Additionally, I'm crap at making logos. While I COULD do the cover art myself I'd rather give you the option to make this role more legitimate than it actually is.

If you like writing wacky songs or if you just really want to be a part of a music comedy band but lack any talent, tell me about it!
Tell me a little about you. Do you have a burning passion for music? Does it burn like your ass after curry night? If you have song ideas, or if you're good at making them up off the top of your head, hit me with some concepts!
I don't plan on keeping to one genre so the more you can sing, the better. We got rock, we got pop, we got rap, we got jazz! Hell, we even have early 2000's boyband crap! Do as many or as few genres as you want!
Sing something from any and as many genres as you like!
I'll find a use for anything, trust me. What I DO want is a guitarist and/or a Uke player. I, myself, am a pianist. However, if you're a better pianist than me... or if I want another one cause I might be lazy someday... then show me what you got.
