Open Perspective Casting Call V1 (VERY WIP! LOOKING FOR ARTISTS, ACTORS, AND OTHER CREATIVE MINDS!)
Project Overview
This project is very work-in-progress, so please bear with me!
Open Perspective is something of a spontanious idea that I've kinda been playing around with in my head, but I've never really done anything with it. That is, until this casting call! That being the case, the project might be subject to changes over the course of this plea for help. Please, bear with us! With patience and determination I'm certain we can create something wonderful!
The General Gist
Open Perspective aims to be the first community oriented and publiclly mutable visual novel/RPG. The endgoal of the project is to establish a community where players and hackers/modders can gather together, toss ideas about, and basically create something entirely new! I realize that's pretty ambitious for someone who doesn't even know how to code, but hear me out! є(･Θ･｡)э››
This will be accomplished by creating a small web domain (Whether that be a forum or some other type of site is currently undecided) where the game's assets will be shared. From there, we'll continue to introduce new things to the canon story as well as encourage others to create their own contributations to the series. If a certain hack/mod strikes the development team as especially brilliant, it might just be incorperated into the game! I was thinking the game could come in installments as the community grew. But, full disclosure, nothing's really been decided on yet. ㄟ( ･ө･ )ㄏ
The Canon (SUBJECT TO CHANGE!)
The story revolves around a middle-aged government secretary named Cathy Kipling who's grown rather tired of the monotony of everyday living. Always disconnected from her peers and even moreso disconnected from her family, Cathy spent most of her time slaving away in her office. But when legal issues threaten to shut down her workplace, she gets held off from her job as the executive powers attempt to straigten things out legally. Cathy now finds herself with more spare time than she's seen in a decade. Rembering the gaming passtime fondly, Cathy purchuses the Plot Device gaming system.
The Plot Device system makes bold advertising claims, stating that the consumer will "Never be bored again!" and that it provides "The most elaborate gaming experience of the year!" Coming pre-installed with a singular game, one might assume these claims are invalid. However, this singular game gets tons of praise from critics and the gaming community alike. What these people don't know is that the game is actually a metaphysical interpretation of the player's psyche. Basiclly creating a seemlessly-simulated personal fantasy for the player to venture across. Alas, not everything in the human mind is ideal. The game, alongside simulating the player's wildest imaginations, also simulates the thoughts the character might be suppressing and the desprate fears and despondencies we all experience.
Who's Needed?
As it says in the title of this casting call, we're looking for distinctly creative individuals to help nail down the idea in its early stages. Duties of each role that'd be principally helpful to the project's creation will be listed down below. Some general guidelines should be defined just to be clear.
- Each member is expected to have SOME ACCESS to the Skype application throughout the duration of this project.
- Members should have some level on maturity. Because, like, come on.
- Please don't harrass or intentionally harm anyone else in the project. Communication is crucial to creating this project. But it's also a tool that could be misused!
- Have patience, please! This project is in a very early stage of development, so there'll probably be more conflicting ideas now then there ever will be in the future of the project.

I don't believe I have to explain this one. If you're using this site, you probably already have a pretty good idea of what being a VA is like.
Record a brief introduction! Much like the Media Personality's intro, really ensure your personality can be heard through this recording!
Record some lines in a couple voices you enjoy doing. The more varied, the better! But be careful! Each voice should retain some believability.

As a media personality, it's your job to maintain a close-knit connection between the Open Perspective development team and the community surrounding it. You might be required to work with and maintain social media webpages to ensure that the community knows how development is coming along. You also might be required to maintain a fourms page of some kind.
Previous work in social media, webpage design, and video editing would be supurb! It isn't required, though.
Record a breif introduction! Really make your personality known in this recording. Toss around jokes, laugh a little, and basiclly just be yourself!

As an artist, you will be working with a team of three other like-minded individuals to define the overall physical aesthetic of the project. This includes designing characters, creating logos/icons, and defining backgrounds/settings.
Previous work with animation, text-based graphics, and/or background art would be beneficial but is not required.
Record a breif introduction! Some things it might be helpful to include would be what you'd like to be called, your past experiences with drawing, some artists/works that might serve as inspiration to you, or other things of that nature.

As a writer, you will be working in a small group to create the overall narrative of the project. You will be required to brainstorm story elements and plot points with others as well as elequently word text blurbs that will appear in the project.
Previous work with creative writing or overall involvement in a constructive group would be phenomenal, but is not required.
Record a breif introduction! Some things it might be helpful to include would be what you'd like to be called, your past experiences with writing, some artists/works that might serve as inspiration to you, or other things of that nature.
