One Piece: Abridged (East Blue Saga)
Project Overview
Introduction:
Hello everyone! This is an abridged series of the popular anime One Piece.
Plot Synopsis:
Wealth, fame, power. Monkey D. Luffy strives to achieve all this and more by finding the One Piece, a treasure left by Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King. The only problem is that he’s the worst pirate to ever sail the seven seas. The abridged will cover the first saga of the series and will follow the basic layout of the original plot with multiple scenes, lines, and characters twisted to be more comedic.
Requirements and Recommendations:
Good quality microphone! (No background noise or unclear audio!)
Must be 16+ due to some of the more adult-oriented jokes in the abridged
You must be able to get loud and scream if the script asks for it
Have fun with it! Go over the top with your performance if you want to. We’re looking for actors who aren’t afraid to get creative with the lines given.

Zoro is very cocky and sure in his abilities as a swordsman while in reality, he's really just a lame egotist who may or may not have hallucinations of his dead childhood friend from time to time.

[Screaming in disbelief at Luffy] LUFFY HOLY SHIT! THE FUCKING BUILDING BLEW UP! THERE'S BLOOD EVERYWHERE OH GOD!
Nami is the navigator and thief of the Strawhat Pirates, she's very bossy and usually has to deal with whatever mayhem Luffy causes. She also runs a successful (legally questionable) pyramid scheme business.
[Talking to Zoro] Zoro I hope you know that if you get beaten by two furries your reputation is fucked forever.
[Attempting to persuade someone] Listen, Buggy, you could be rich just like me. All you have to do is get your crew to invest in my business, then we get some crews to invest in your crew, and eventually, we're all rich!
[A realization hits Nami and she starts getting very angry] ...Wait were you guys just watching me stab myself this whole time? YOU ASSHOLES WHY DIDN'T YOU STOP ME EARLIER! STOP WALKING AWAY! I NEED MEDICAL ATTENTION, YOU IDIOTS! DON'T TURN UP THE MUSIC JUST TO DROWN ME OUT!
Sanji is a fake feminist who is great at cooking and desperate for a girlfriend. (The English accent isn't necessary but it is a plus.)
[Worried and agitated] I hate to admit it Luffy...But he's right. Fighting him would be like punching a civil rights activist.
[Angrily towards Zoro] I don't know why but it's as if the cosmos themselves are telling me to kick your ass.
[Laughing for an awkward amount of time before speaking in a deadpan voice] Yeah alright I'll join.
The captain of the Fishman Pirates. Arlong is an evil asshole who terrorizes the people of Cocoyashi Village. But since he's doing it in the name of "Civil rights" none of the villagers try to stop him so they won't get canceled on Twitter.
[Annoyed and a bit confused] N-Nami I'm pretty sure you just pitched me a pyramid scheme. Just get out of here before I bite your head off.
[Smugly to Nami before realizing he just sealed his own fate] Wouldja look at that Nami. No one's coming to save you. Not even that rubber boy and his friends- I just confirmed they were gonna come here and stop me, didn't I?
[Yelling and angry] YOU WANT THE TRUTH? FINE! I DON'T EVEN CARE ABOUT FISHMEN PROBLEMS, I JUST WANTED TO BE A VILLAIN WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES!
Zoro's rival when he was a child. She loves to haunt Zoro after her death to remind him how lame he is in comparison to her.
[Confidently to Zoro] Listen to me Zoro. If I die before you can beat me, I'll find some way to haunt you from the afterlife.
[Generic spooky ghost voice] Oooo am I real or are you just schizophrenic? OOOOOOO
[Smugly to Zoro] Go ahead. Ask your friends if they can see me and be labeled the weirdo of the crew
Alvida is the angry bossy captain of the Swan Pirates.
[Speaking to her crew] All right guys. I'm the first villain of the series so we have to do something big! Any ideas? And no I will not be killing the main character's best friend for shock value, that idea is so overplayed.
[Worried and responding to Luffy's monlogue] A-are you ok man? Do you need to see someone or?

An old chef who hates his life, takes care of Sanji, and used to be a cannibal. Honestly, he may still be a cannibal, no one is really sure.
[Cold and camly] Don't get it twisted boy. I didn't eat my own leg to save you, I did it because I yearned for the taste of human flesh.
[Happily towards the villain] OH THANK GOD! KILL ME NOW AND FREE ME FROM THIS PLACE!

Shanks is a genuinely evil person who spends his life terrorizing islands with his crew, he just happened to stay at Luffy's island the longest. He's very nonchalant about the misdeeds he and his crew commit.
[Happily to Luffy] Y'know Luffy. Despite all the times I've destroyed your village and traumatized you in the process, I wanted you to know, I think of you as a son.
[Scared and yelling] AH SHIT HE TOOK THE KID! IF HE GETS TOO FAR HE MIGHT ALERT THE MARINES AND THIS WHOLE DRUG OPERATION WILL BE FUCKED!
[Calmly to Luffy] I want you to have my hat kid. And once you've become strong enough, I want you to give it back to me after nearly beating me to death for terrorizing you and your village.
The son of one of the villagers who was murdered by Arlong, he's very loud and obnoxious.
[Angrily to Nojiko] I don't care how dangerous it is! There's no way they'd kill a kid in this show anyway.
[Tearfully to Luffy] I-I wanted to be the one to beat Arlong. You've ruined my life.

A corrupt marine who is maybe, sort of, most definitely abusive towards his son.
[Smugly before being cut off by an attack and yelling in pain because of it] This would be the perfect time to explain my evil plan in great detail! First I will- GYAHH!
[His last words to Luffy before succumbing to his injuries and passing out] You... will never... be Kirito from the sword art online abridged.....

The cheerful motherly bartender of Luffy's home island.
[Happily to Luffy] Good news! Today is the day Shanks leaves, meaning I can stop acting like I enjoy pirate sea shanties.
[Worried] As happy as I am that you were knocked on your ass, are you ok Shanks?

Fullbody is a fun-loving marine who has a great life with his wife until Sanji enters it.
[Scared and angry at Sanji] FOR GOD SAKES MAN JUST SERVE ME ANOTHER BOWL OF SOUP YOU DONT HAVE TO KILL ME!
[Pouting and sad] Stupid Strawhats with their stupid cook and their stupid boat.

The captain of the Furry pirates, Captain Kuroo is an evil butler whose fursona is a cat named Kuron.
[Giving a speech to his crew] ON THIS DAY! WE SHALL NO LONGER HIDE IN THE SHADOWS OF TWITTER THREADS AND DISCORD SERVERS! THIS IS THE DAY WE FURRIES RISE TO THE LIGHT!
[Smugly towards Usopp] Guess all of those murder mysteries we're right. The butler is always the culprit.

A washed-up cop who's lost the respect of everyone ever since...the incident... He believes if he catches a pirate like Luffy, people will start showing him respect again. Has a gruff voice.
[Angrily towards a pirate he caught] I could never stand the sight of you pirates. Especially after...the incident...
[Bluntly and rudely to Kushina] Listen kid if the marines put you with me it means they don't give a shit about you.

Usopp's timid friend who hears voices that other people cant.
(Worried) The voices say I shouldn't trust you, Mr.Kuro...

Tashigi is Smoker's assistant who is constantly looking for a chance to prove herself. Though due to her clumsy nature she is downright awful at nearly everything she does
[Responding to Zoro's insult] I may be clumsy, and I might wear glasses even though I don't need them just so I stand out, and yeah I cry while listening to Imagine Dragons, and ok maybe I do watch the Big Bang Theory unironically, but... shit I forgot where this was going.
[A bit worried for Zoro] Areee you ok? You look like you just saw a dead childhood friend who seemingly was brought back from the dead.

Mihawk is a calm and collected swordsman who's just looking for a good fight. (French accent isn't required but is a huge plus)
[Excitedly to Zoro] Finally a worthy opponent! Our battle will be legendary!
[Disappointed] Aw you gotta be kidding me. He went down faster than The Office's quality after Steve Carell left.

[Yelling at Luffy and Zoro while holding Koby at gunpoint] I'LL SHOOT HIM RIGHT NOW! I-I'M NOT BLUFFING! I WILL SEND THIS KID TO WHATEVER PIT YOU JUST SENT MY DAD TO IN HELL!

Nojiko is Nami's older sister, she's more level-headed and calm compared to Nami.
[Agitated and responding to Chabo] Listen, kid, you can go play hero once I'm off this island. But until then I don't wanna feel responsible for a kid's death.
[Consoling Nami] Hey sis it'll all be ok. And maybe once this whole thing is over you can take me out of your pyramid scheme...

If you wanna do a line as a random pirate, then do a generic pirate voice! If you want to be a random civilian then say something a civilian might say in response to the crazy pirate battles happening. Multiple people will get casted for this so just go for it!
