On Hold (Short Film) - VOICEOVER ROLES

Project Overview

On Hold is a five-minute drama about a woman navigating the loss of her best friend and lover, Sam. Using the motif of a phone stuck "on hold," the film explores how grief can place our lives in a state of limbo—how it can, quite literally, put life on hold. Looking to fill a few voiceover roles.

Voice description:
  • female adult
  • I was cooking that spicy stir-fry we made together last winter—remember how you said I added too much chili?

  • It feels like everything's at a standstill with you right now, and it's okay to struggle with that.

  • Take a step. Any step. You don't have to do this alone, honey. Just... please. Call me. I love you.

You play as Sam, or at least a memory of him.

Age: Mid to late 20s.

SAM is a warm and charming figure who comes to life in a fleeting but poignant memory that Avery has while overhearing a conversation.

Voice-only role; no on-camera performance required.

Recording session will be remote. Actors must have access to a high-quality microphone and recording setup.

  • How is it that you always manage to finish your fries and half of mine? You’re a fry thief, Avery.

  • You're my home. Is that too cheesy? Yeah, yeah, definitely cheesy.

  • Okay, first rule of road trips: I pick the music. Second rule: no complaining about the first rule.
