Spreading the Word
Along with this website, I have also posted this casting call on BehindTheVoiceActors.com. It is another website that I hope will collect more auditions along with this one. Keep on spreading the word so people can get to auditioning!
(surprised) "You still haven't asked El to the snow ball? It's a few weeks away, Mike."
Younger sounding than most teens. General boy voice. Must be expressive.
(explaining to El who is confused) "They are operating--, cutting me open, to get the slugs out. I have something inside of me, from the upside down. They, the bad men, are getting them out."
(tiredly and weak) "I'm fine, mom. (cough) Can I have some water?"
"Brought you both sandwiches. And juice for you. And a coffee for you. And change"
Motherly. Must be able to express emotion and sound comforting.
"They'll drive us back tonight. And a doctor will come to check on you every day. (tears filling eyes) I'm so sorry, honey.."
Young sounding girl. Innocent voice. I need to be able to hear much emotion coming from the voice.
(voice thin due to crying) "Are you my...b-brother, Will?"
(sounding tentative/speaking to Mike) "Can I ask you something...?What do you want for your birthday?"
(slowly with a tad of anger in her voice) "He's stopping me, so you won't need to go to the hospital. Again." (later on, angrier with a bit of a growl) "Not stupid. Idiot."
Brave and tough. Speaks her mind. Not as young sounding. Must sound angry at times.
"I moved here last summer and everyone here is, I don't know, boring, I guess. But not you. I got this feeling, that you're not like that... Boring, I mean."
Any additional roles. To name a few: Troy, Dr. Brenner, Mike's Parents, Lucas' Parents, Holly Wheeler, Multiple Students. #I'llFitYouIn
*Sample Text* "When Hopkins came to life that one day in November, I could not stop thinking about that poor boy Will Byers and his friends. They seemed to have been through too much."
Young sounding. A very fierce young boy who is brave. Must be willing to curse.
"You're saying, that you stopped Troy, mid-air! (nervously chuckle) You've got be kidding me..."
"We need to kill the sorcerer. (huffing) But his chambers are guarded, remember? (nervously) Oh my fucking..."
Young sounding teenage boy. Almost a comforting voice. Must also be able to express much emotion.
(sounding very nervous) "I-- I wanted to ask you, if you'd still like to, you know, to go to the snow ball...with me?"
(At a hurried pace) "No, no. They have no problem with us... seeing each other, El"
(muttering) "Haven't you seen? How he looks at her sometimes. It's hard to miss."
*dialogue is spoken through other people*
(voice is thick and angry) "What is it, then?"
(blurting out frustratedly) "She's not!"
MUST HAVE A REALISTIC LISP. A bit of a scratchy voice. Young sounding teenager.
(playfully and knowingly) "You sneaked into her room, didn't you? Last night."
Rough, older sounding. An authorative figure.
(stating what is going to happen in a firm way) "You can't fool us, trick us into anything. You will help him, because that's what you owe us. The only thing Joyce will sign is a paper, that states that you are responsible if something goes wrong, not the other way around."
