NCR Marines - A Fallout: New Vegas Mod
Project Overview
Heya, everyone! This casting call is for a small FNV mod that will be titled NCR Marines - NCR Special Forces. The purpose of the mod is to bring new soldiers to the New California Republic's army and diversify the people you'll meet throughout the game. These Marines are one of them.
In the mod, NCR Marines are penal soldiers who were offered their freedom in exchange for five years of service in the Mojave - in order to supplement their already low-morale and dwindling forces in the region. They come from all walks of life - Former Raiders, children of Enclave Remnants, Deserters, Common Criminals, Civil Servants who committed crimes, Brotherhood of Steel PoWs, and more.
And before you question its name, here's something someone said that accurately described the point the name of the mod is trying to make.
"Them being called Marines is alright imo. Its poetic to call them marines not because of how loyal or effective they are as a combat unit, but instead a metaphor about them being sent into a bloodbath swimming in the blood of their fellow penal comrades."
I couldn't have said it better myself.
NOTE: Keep in mind that the pictures of the roles below DO NOT DEPICT the NPC you are voicing. Instead, the pictures just generally depict the race of the NPC and the attitude they give.

VOICE REQUIREMENTS
A willingness and ability to adapt your voice to the character's background (Brotherhood Soldiers align with intelligence, Raiders align with bloodthirsty and cocky, etc etc)
Multiple takes are encouraged (2-3) for each audition line but NOT required!
You must follow the voicing instructions crystal clearly. Any audition with mess-ups on specific instructions w/o any attempts to fix WILL BE disqualified.
Must not be afraid to get vulgar! These boys are convicts sent to die in battle. They have every reason to be upset and vulgar. The former raider's are especially vulgar and won't hesitate to drop the f-bomb wherever they can.
Audition Requirements:
-Crisp, clean audio. No hums*, pops, hisses, or background noise. Any audition with these found inside WILL BE disqualified!
*Hums, if distant enough to be hardly noticeable, can pass auditioning ONLY if the voice actor can remove them when asked.
-Show emotion! Any audition without emotion or effort WILL BE disqualified!
- Communication is solely conducted through CCC.
-Have fun!
If you are disqualified, feel free to re-audition! There is no negativity here, only positivity and room for improvement!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I can answer most.

So, for some reason, this mod is on IDMb. Uh... I don't know why. Don't know how... But, I guess feel free to add this to your resumes I suppose. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt16410982/

Update is out!
The mod's update is released! Thank you so much everyone for your hard work! https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/73354 -
Status Update
Another update: My plan was to release NCR Marines this week, but due to a couple VAs not turning in pick up lines yet and a few unexpected bugs occurring with my new additions, I'm gonna have to delay the update another week at best. I have my nose to the grindstone trying to get this done, and it had to be done right. Apologies for the wait. -
Status Update
Good news! All voices have been applied! Aside from some missed lines that will be picked up by the appropriate voice actors, voicing is done! I gotta do some bug fixes and calibrations before I can release the mod's update! Thank you everyone who lent their voice! I will update the status when the mod update is released! Expect a mid-to-late next week release! -
Status Update
Another status update: I finished applying about 7 voices out of 16. It's getting a little difficult on my end because some voice actors missed some lines and proceeded to vanish off of the internet when I contact them for retakes. :/ Luckily, for one of them, I know a stand-in who sounds similar to them. But for the rest, oh well I suppose. I'm still trucking along! If you're missing lines, I will be in contact!
Penal Soldier Voice Type 4 - Ghoul Common Criminal/Deserter.
The Commandant has their hands full dealing with this mess. I should just be grateful they're signing my paycheck - as meagre as it is.
Two weeks of training, and then we're sent into this nonsense. I don't think they expect us to survive.
Smoothskin.
Penal Soldier Voice Type 5 - Ghoul Common Criminal/Deserter.
Smoothskin.
I caught one of our guys taking a hit of Med-X last night. I've kept it to myself, though. I'm not turning them in to those mongrels in command.
A couple of the guys got sent to Forlorn Hope last week. I've never seen a man get so scared in his life.
Penal Soldier Voice Type 1 - Common Criminal/Deserter.
This deployment's been a long one. I don't even remember what the original agreement was...
We got a couple of ex-Raiders in this unit. They're assholes, but in a firefight, I'd rather have no one else watching my back.
I know we have Enclave descendants in this unit. But they don't speak up about it. Fair enough.
Penal Soldier Voice Type 3 - Common Criminal/Deserter.
They call us Marines. It's to make us feel better about our roles, but really? We're just Kimball's suicide squad.
Between you and me, the NCR has really fucked up in the Mojave. We should just pull out while we can.
Something tells me I'm not going home anytime soon.
Penal Soldier Voice Type 6 - Common Criminal/Deserter.
Word has it that Ranger Station Charlie got wiped the hell out. They say it's the Legion.
Sounds like we're running Primm, now. Still can't take any leave, so it doesn't matter to me.
The Camp Golf misfits are gonna be shipping off to combat soon. I didn't expect that to happen.
Penal Soldier Voice Type 16 - Common Criminal/Deserter.
They're thinking of transferring my unit to the Dam. They need everyone they can get over there. Well. I don't suppose I have a say in it.
Those Troopers don't trust us. Says we're nothing but criminals. Well, we're not the ones roving over everyone now, are we?
Two weeks of training, and then we're sent into this nonsense. I don't think they expect us to survive.
Penal Soldier Voice Type 7 - Common Criminal/Deserter.
Sounds like our Ambassador on the Strip got assassinated. I saw it happening, sooner or later anyways.
You see some of the people in my unit? We got Brotherhood folks and Raiders. The NCR don't mess around.
I've been patroling the Mojave for quite some time now. I don't think I'm going home in nothing but a bodybag.
Penal Soldier Voice Type 15 - Common Criminal/Deserter.
They're thinking of sending me on patrol. Anything beats being around the regs.
The Commandant been up to their neck lately keeping a semblance of peace between us and the regs. Hats off to them.
Suddenly, an air-conditioned prison cell seems preferable to this...
Penal Soldier Voice Type 2 - Former Raider.
I'll see you in my crosshairs.
We sent in a mess of troops at Nelson and plugged every last plumed-asshole there. Good on our boys.
Everyone at Forlorn Hope got fucking pasted, man. Fucking deep-sixed! Good God, the Legion is worse than my old outfit.
Penal Soldier Voice Type 11 - Former Raider.
Some of the guys in this unit disgust me. Crying because they're scared of some dogshit cosplayers. Fucking pussies.
Some of the women in this unit are too soft. Prissy bitches wouldn't have lasted a day in my old outfit.
The agreement was I take a rifle to the Legion. I go home at the end. Well? Send me over already! I'll put one right between Caesar's eyes!
Penal Soldier Voice Type 12 - Former Raider.
Who woulda thought I'd be taking up arms for this shitshow of a nation? Huh. I must be getting soft.
The Khans won't discriminate. But that's fine. Never killed a Khan before.
Some of the boys got sent to Forlorn Hope yesterday. I ain't never seen someone's face get so pale. It was actually kinda haunting.
Penal Soldier Voice Type 10 - Former Raider.
Legion thinks they're so badass. I'd like to see if their football clothes can withstand a hollowpoint.
Our Commandant is really pissing me off. They ain't one of us. They ain't done what we did.
The quartermaster is holding out on me. I wonder if he'll feel so smug when I return later tonight with some of the boys...
Penal Soldier Voice Type 8 - Former Brotherhood Paladin.
Primm has accepted NCR rule. Seems we're expanding, and at an impossible rate.
The NCR attacked the NCRCF and won. Escaped cons are no match for military discipline.
Looking good in that Power Armor, brother.
Penal Soldier Voice Type 9 - Former Brotherhood Paladin.
The NCR has us on a tight leash, brother. Don't give them any reason to send me back.
I caught one of the guys taking jet last night. The smart thing would've been to turn him in, but we're all brothers-in-arms right now.
I've no need to visit the vice city of the region. I just wanna serve my five years out and go my separate ways with this unit.
Penal Soldier Voice Type 13 - Former Brotherhood Paladin.
The usage of the word "Marine" is very incorrect for our unit. Marines were sea-based infantry. Not penal soldiers.
The NCR has very primitive training tactics. No VR simulations, live fire obstacle courses...
I hope I don't have to face the Brotherhood out here. It would pain me to pull the trigger on my brothers.
Penal Soldier Voice Type 14 - Former Brotherhood Paladin.
I wonder how my brothers fare against these dogs...
I used to fight the NCR as an enemy, now I take up arms for them. There is a delicious irony in this.
I supposes I should be grateful they even agreed to give us effective weapons.
