Medusa | Scourge of the Necromancer (Halo Machinima)

Medusa | Scourge of the Necromancer (Halo Machinima)

Project Overview

Hello! This is the casting call for Medusa: Scourge of the Necromancer, the third instalment of Medusa, a sci-fi/fantasy series set in an original universe made using the medium of Halo Machinima.

Medusa is a world of mystery. Where prisons can float in the skies but they have not yet discovered how to communicate via video transmissions. They have created flying death machines the size of cities but have never sent anything beyond the atmosphere of their world.

It directly follows the events of the Prologue and Powers of Arcane, the first two Chapters of Medusa. These videos will be linked below.

Scourge of the Necromancer plot description: Three months after the destruction of the Legendary Academy and the slaughter of the Minazteck population, Benjamin Jones, now known as the Necromancer has been found and captured. However the Scourge is not over. His old friend General Thompson must find and destroy the Acolyte horde before they return. Worse still, the Necromancer has begun talking to someone.

The roles featured are all very minor. They are either simple soldiers or Undead Warriors. The film itself will be roughly 30-40 minutes long, and I intend have it finished by February 2018.

Auditions will close on the 24th October.

Nameless Human Spec Ops Soldier

Generic soldier in the Human Special Operations Military, a prestigious army of skilled, well paid soldiers . All lines would take place in an action sequence where this faction is being overwhelmed by a terrifying enemy, and the lines should be read as such.

Clarifications:

Medica is an  original term for a Medical Militiaman in the Massanni Militia. They are an elegant, calm and collected species that shares a close relationship with the Human race.

  • There's too many of 'em! Fall back, fall back!

  • Man down!

  • Medica! Medica!

Role assigned to: Stephen Quinn

The Demonic Acolytes are undead monsters raised by a man named The Necromancer. They are unfeeling monsters that serve as Thralls of the Necromancer. They have no actual dialogue, their vocals are screeching, screaming and growling.

Their vocals, behaviour and fighting can be compared entirely to the Wights from Game of Thrones, which is what inspired the idea of the Demonic Acolytes.

Wounded Colony Defence Trooper

Role assigned to: burningaxe

A Defence Trooper in an independent colony. Defence Troopers are commonly used to fighting Orkons, Mercenaries or generic Thugs in most combat scenarios, but they commonly do not see a lot of action.

We find this Trooper shortly after their colony is attacked by the Necromancer and his undead army. The Trooper is wounded, shaken up and scared, as they have been assaulted by a terrifying unknown enemy. The lines would be read as such.

Clarifications:

Orkons are a barbaric species in the world of Medusa. They regularly assault independent colony cities to take weapons, colonists and vehicles in order to survive.

TSL's is short for Taikon Speed Lighters. They are medium sized airships with little weaponry made for transporting many civilians.

  • Just a burn, I'll be alright. You should tend to someone else.

  • He scorched and burned his way through. He didn't stop to kill the wounded, he forced his way in, blasted through our defences and stole three ships. Then just...gone.

  • TSL's. Three of em. Lightly armed, but they're fast movers, with a huge cargo hold. We were keeping them in reserve in case we needed to escape from Orkons.
