The Mushroom Kingdoms Superstar, Mario, has been killed! But who could have committed such a terrible act... It was Sonic the Hedgehog! Princess Peach had been a witness of this crime and had been scarred. After Mario's Funeral, Princess Peach in her grief had declared war on Mobius! Toads rushed to Mobius ready to fight with their power ups in arms! Mobius had heard of the declared war and Princess Sally Acorn had prepared the Freedom Fighters for war! It has been 3 years since the war declaration and Mario's death, both sides are struggling against the other, Mario is gone and so is Sonic.. he had disappeared since that horrific event, his whereabouts known to none... until now.
