Project Overview

Joanna Harper's luck had never been worse. Being an agent for the state's business bureau was never supposed to come with adventure, and it most certainly was never supposed to mean an invitation to the manor of Ophelia Halen, an eccentric and downright strange woman living secluded in the mountains.

Manor of Concealment is a visual novel in need of voice actors and actresses. With a total of 11 roles, the roster needs some filling out. Project is paid, with a payment of $2 per line. Roles are small for now to get the demo out, but with full work later after funding has been accomplished.

    You've all been great to send me so many auditions. I really wasn't expecting so much enthusiasm for the project and I love how into it you've all been. There is about 13 hours left to put an audition in and then I will be closing auditions to star narrowing down who will get the roles. Because there is so many it will probably take me a couple days to finalize my decisions. Fast reminder if you take this job there is a possible chance of more work if a funding is successful, so please be ready to voice for a fully developed project. Also, I must ask that you be of legal age (18) to work on this. Pretty much the only requirements. Payment will be sent via Paypal (or other options if preferred by you) after the work is finished, not before. If that all sounds agreeable to you then I greatly look forward to working with you!

  • A fast update on the project

    First off, thank everyone so much for the auditions! I didn't expect to get so many so quickly and you all sound so amazing. I'm listening to each and every one for careful consideration, so I'm doing my best to keep up with all of you. Second, someone asked and I figured I should address this, the game is going to be rated as mature for its themes. The exact rating is not yet pinned down, but it's very like to be M. This includes lead up to optional adult encounters (nothing will be written past making out before a "fade to black"). Therefore any voice actor hired for the project must be at least 18 years old. I really should have written this from the beginning, but it didn't even occur to me to set that limit. So far I don't think I've gotten any takes from anyone below legal age, but I wanted to put it forth just in case. My bad for not thinking of that sooner. Anyway, good luck to all of you and keep the auditions coming. I'll continue to work on this project so we can all have a great time working together.

A lovely, but somewhat odd, bartender and cook of the manor, Alex is of a kind disposition. However, he seems to be aware of something happening there he wants to warn you about, if only he could.

  • No, no. It's entirely my fault, madam. I should heave announced my presence to you. It was my mistake.

  • In any case, I was asked to make you something to eat. Why don't you relax here and I'll get you dinner? It won't take me long.

  • Things are difficult to explain. The fact of the matter is I know Ophelia invited you in order to do this, but your timing is less than perfect. It really would have been better for you if you'd come later.

Alice and Alisa are sisters in a set of triplets with Alex. Stick with their brother, Alisa takes it upon herself to look after the group while Alice likes to joke and stay laid back. Despite the two roles, they will need to be voiced by the same actress and will be paid for both.

  • Alice: “Yeah, don't be so mean, Brother. It was just a lame crush. Nothing to get so worked up over.” (happy and cheerful voice)

  • Alisa: “You really shouldn't talk about our personal business like that, Alex. It's not polite.” (firm and scolding voice)

A kindly but serious woman working and living in the manor, she regards herself an equal to Ophelia and does not bow to her like others. Someone from Japan, she is fluent in English but her part will require an accent. However, please no "Engrish" speak.

An artist who is never without his mask on, a somewhat unorthodox person in thinking. Believes it's better to do what you love and nothing else. Due to his mask, his voice will need to sound muffled and with a slight echo if possible. Despite identifying as a male, due to the characters background, Hedley can sound either male or female.

  • “My name is Hedley, and I wasn't outside of anyone's room. I didn't even know you were here. I was just out walking about, looking for a few spots to get my new paintings up.”

  • “Seems better to follow your dreams.”

A playful guy who doesn't like to take anything too seriously, with a sarcastic way of looking at the world. Not the most serious guy, he is nonetheless a very intelligent man and is willing to help Joanna figure things out for the right price.
