Project Background

We all know what a manga fandub is, and I'm sure most of us have seen our fair share of them, some of you may even participated in one before. This kind of project isn't exactly uncommon, even now, a number of other projects that focuses on dubbing existing older manga or new ongoing manga exist. However, I do realized that most of them are trying to work on manga of popular and well known titles such as "Hitman Reborn", "Dr.Stone", "Danganronpa", "Demon Slayer ", etc. Now I'm not saying there is a problem with that, I know, working on titles that are more widely known will surely bring about more audience, but I got a different idea.

What I want to do is to create a project that dubs manga that are less known. I'm not saying that these titles got so little attention that no one even know they exist, they do have their fair share of readers, however, compared to other more popular titles, you can really see the difference. How many of you have heard of titles like "Walkure Romanze" or "Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai"? Probably not much I'd say, and that is what spur me on to do this, to bring more attention (hopefully) to the lesser known titles that do have interesting stories.

Project Casting Call Details

First and Foremost

THIS IS A NON-COMMERCIAL PROJECT. ALL WORK DONE IN THIS PROJECT WILL NOT BE REWARDED WITH PAYMENT, BUT INSTEAD WITH SATISFACTION AND EXPERIENCE.

Second point is

This project may be a success, or it may just be a failure. I won't be so bold as to say that this project will be a guarantee success, but I can say that I will try my best to make this work. So be informed if you are interested to join me on this. The project may attract just 10, or 100, or 1000 viewers or even more, or it may very well just have 1 or 2 views and that's it. So be aware of this.

And the third point is

This project is extremely experimental, I have no prior experience in working on manga dubbing projects so I foresee many changes and adjustment will be made as this project progresses.
Not only that, this project is so experimental that whether or not this project will even start its production depends on the number of auditions it receive.

Yes, this casting call being created does not means that this project will absolutely start, because of the focus of this project and it being non-commercialized, I really am worried if people will even be interested in helping out and being a part of this or not, therefore, if the number of auditions this project receives is enough to fill in all the necessary roles , then yes I will plan and start to production of this project, otherwise, this casting call will just end and that will be it. Nothing will start and nothing will come out of this. And that is exactly why I cannot stress enough that this project is highly experimental. Nothing is set in stone and things will be constantly changing. So please, do only audition if you are clear on all of that. :)

Also side note, if you noticed, the deadline of this casting call isn't far, well that is not true, I will constantly update the deadline as long as this project does not have enough audition to fulfill every role, however, there will be a point where I will stop, but I will make an update if that day ever comes.

Now let's get to the rules:

1. Like all projects, have a decent quality mic that can produce clear voice and no background noises.

2. Be active. Respond when you are called for and when needed. Ensure that you indeed have free time to spare during the production of this project.

3. Be respectful. Toxic behavior is not appreciated. The ban hammer will strike you if you toxic.

4. Have a good grasp on the English language, that will be our language of communication.

5. Can actually commit to this. I know it's non commercial and all but still, please, if you sign up for this, be ready to commit till the end (if it ever starts).

6. Of course, have a Discord ID.
7. Last but not least, I want you to enjoy this and have fun, No stress, no pressure.

If any one of you question what my role is in all of this, well, I'll be managing and organizing everything, making sure deadlines are met, keeping everything on track, dissolving any doubts or enquirers any of the staff or VAs might have, I will also be taking care of any feedback and suggestions if we ever get to that point, and yeah all that. I will also help with the editing since that is what I do, that is if our future editor needs urgent help on the task so that's that.

Some titles that I have my eye on right now are:

i) Koi ga Saku Koro Sakura Doki - Charming Scarlet
ii) Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
iii) Maji De Watashi Ni Koi Shinasai!

So the roles will be based on the three titles above for now

Additional titles will be added at a later date if things goes well

Extra Note for VAs: Samples lines will be added as time pass. Right now, you can just say something you think the character would say if there is no sample lines provided.
Extra Note for VAs #2: The following link provide access to a Drive file that contains literal sample voices for the characters, however, they are in Japanese. Not sure how much that will help, but I hope it will :

Indefinite Hiatus
May 02, 2020

Hello all who are still following this project. In this update, I come bearing some not so good news. If you've read the previous update, you should probably know where this is going. Unfortunately, until this day, we still do not have any suitable auditions for video and image editor, 2 of the major key roles of this project that needs to be filled for anything to get started. And because there isn't anyone filling in those 2 roles, and I feel like this project audition have been going on for long enough, I'd say it is time to stop. This project audition have been up for nearly half a year already and I don't think there's much point in continuing this indefinite wait, thus, as of today, this project will essentially be removed, gone, done, boom. It is unfortunate but it is what it is. Well...not entirely, I'll still have this project page on CCC for an indefinite amount of time but I won't be checking in as often as before. Maybe once a month to see if there are any developments, but I doubt it will, but still, I'll leave this page as it is. I deeply apologize to all of those who took time to auditioned, I'm really sorry that it turned out this way but it isn't in my power to do anything else other than wait and hope. Not so good news

Hello everyone! It's been a gosh darn while since the last update and that is why I'm about to bring you guys another one, however, this update is the bearer of bad news to the project, but, that bad news cans still be changed to good news. Let's get straight to the point. This project have been on here for, or nearly, 3 months now and it have garner a lot of people to audition for it, however, unfortunately, one of the most prioritize and important role of this project still have no suitable auditions, that is the video editor and the image editor. With all the VAs auditioning, its great to see that amount of attention this project has is so huge. 100+ auditions, that's insane! But sadly, at the end of the day, no matter how many auditions we get for the VA roles, the background roles like video editor and image editor are the most important roles since without them, we cannot produce anything. Depending on the situation, this may be the second last update this project will get, and if that is the case, then the next update will be about this project officially closing audition and that's the end. But, if we manage to get a video editor AND an image editor sometime soon, then that outcome can be avoided. So, for those who are following this project, it'll help a lot if you guys have anyone in mind that might be interested, if there are, let them know, have them check this project out and let them consider it. That's all for this update. Hopefully the next update won't be the last, but I myself am not clinging onto too much hope. That is all. Thanks for reading.

Greetings everyone. Just a real quick and small update. Several characters from "Koi ga Saku Koro Sakura Doki - Charming Scarlet" will be casted today and when that is done, there should only be 2 or 3 characters left from that title that is yet to be casted, which means production for "Koi ga Saku Koro Sakura Doki - Charming Scarlet" should be able to start pretty soon. However, that is assuming we can cast a video editor on time. If any of you guys know anyone who might be interested in this project, even slightly, do invite them to check it out. That's all. Greetings to all, before anything, I'd like to say thank you to each and every one of you for auditioning and following this project, honestly, I never thought I'd see this number of auditions, I didn't have high hopes when I first started this, but right now, it's looking more and more plausible to start this officially. Really, thank you all. The number of auditions are large, however, we're not even halfway there yet. After listening to all the auditions, I already have in mind who to cast for some of the characters, but there are still plenty of characters where a decision is yet to be made, and there are some that still doesn't have any auditions. Though, I did mention before that the production will be split by titles because of the absolute huge number of cast, and currently, the title that is most likely to be started soon is "Koi ga Saku Koro Sakura Doki - Charming Scarlet", which characters are (in a no filter order) from 3rd - 14th character. If auditions keep coming in, I believe production on this title could be starting not far in the future. That is all for this update. I've linked a Drive file on the project description that has literal sample voice for the characters, however, they speak in Japanese so I'm not sure they'll help to what degree, but I just hope it helps gives you guys an idea on how they sound like.
