ATTENTION!
Douglas Lynn is a squid hybrid and a prisoner of Darkout Prison in the town of Guason. He is wrongfully sent to jail and put on death row after being accused of having some type of involvement with the murder of a young girl. He escapes the jail before the time of his execution, but not before dragging Zahra along with him in the chaos. Despite having a rough past, he is kind and gentle to others, but acts cold and harsh towards Zahra because of her racist views of his kind, keeping her hostage until he can escape from the authorities.
(threateningly) In case you forgot, I'm the one with the gun. I don't think you have much of a choice right now.
(emotionless) I've seen what this city has done to hybrids...I don't even have the capability of explaining it.
You help get out of this city and to this beach town, you'll never have to deal with me again. We'll both have our freedoms back.
One of the many leading commanding officers of the city who maintain the duty of keeping hybrids in check and making sure they follow the city's laws and rules.
(tiredly) I… It’s the protesters. They’ve gotten me stressed out. I’m not sure how much longer our men can keep them at bay.

I believe she volunteered for the guard position.
Edith King is the lead deputy of Darkout Prison. Also a human supremacist, she cares very little of what happens to the prisoners, as long as she follows of orders of the mayor to decide each fate of every prisoner. She teaches Zahra about the function of the prison and what is expected of her as a guard. Gets very uneasy whenever Galas is around and is in not a good mood.
(irritated) What the hell are you looking at, bee?! Move along or else I'll splatter you under my boot!
(tauntingly) Long time no see, doctor.
(angrily) Wasn't my fault. I wasn't trying to kill your partner. I was trying to kill YOU.
Charles Brooks is a rogue scientist who works within the confines of an abandoned basement inside a hospital. He has invented a prototype-ish injection that can temporarily change hybrids into humans. Our two main characters meet up with him in order to change Douglas, who is a squid hybrid, into a human. Charles is a tad unpredictable, but pledges himself to assist the hybrid race in any way he can, mostly revolving around science. He lost an arm during a confrontation with officers, but managed to escape in the process.
(alarmed) Be careful with that! Any of these chemicals could burn your entire skin off if you're not careful!
I am a man of science and biology, studying in the field of hybrid-to-human DNA transformation. If your squid friend wants to become a human, I am more than happy to do so. Plus, I've haven't had any willing participants lately.
Remember, Douglas...this injection will eventually wear off in two months. Your normal form will begin to show once the chemicals inside your body wear off.
Bugeyes is a bee hybrid, and one of the many informants working for Charles Brooks. Although he sometimes works with Jabari, he prefers to work alone as it catches less attention. Bugeyes works as a sort of aerial scout, flying around and uses the top of buildings or structures to spy on the activities of the city below him. Bugseyes is easily startled, but likes to ease his nervousness by making jokes about bees or the state of modern society. Despite his anxious disposition, he still cares greatly about the city he lives in.
His voice, I would like it to be a bit gravely or crackly, kinda high pitched but not too high.
(nervous) Oh man, ha ha...if we get caught, there's no telling what they'll do to us. (brief but nervous chuckle) probably something horrible, but who knows!?
(halfhearted chuckle) Remember when it was said that we're all created equally? If only we treated each other equally, we wouldn't be doing this.
(frightened) Galas?! Oh, she's awful! She's the reason why my entire family is locked up in jail. Not sure why where they are now. Probably dead, but I must be pretty lucky because I'm still alive! (sad chuckle)
