Magic Mags (and Mogs!)

Project Overview

Hiyah! I recently came up with some Characters; Magic Mags, a witch who spends her time tinkering with magic, steampunk technology and art- and her familiar Mogs, a sleepy, sassy, sharply dressed Persian Cat.


Highly inspired by the Dr Crafty series on Youtube (Check it out, they're very good!), I plan on making an art series where the commentary is provided by a cast of colourful characters (in this case, Mags and Mogs) 

This idea is very much up in the air at the moment, nothing is set in stone which is why I really need your help! If you would like to help me come up with a solid idea, feel free to join this discord server where we can chat and share ideas: https://discord.gg/zzD2nj9 
This casting call is very much for me to decide on how I want Mags and Mogs to sound so if you audition, please know that there is no guarantee that this project will ever actually go anywhere, but I would really appreciate your help :D

Maggie "Mags" Peake is a positive, yet ditzy, bouncing ball of energy with a whole library of old-timey slang she uses to spice up her sentences. Born a witch but is an artist by trade, mostly painting designs on aircraft like planes and blimps. Maggie enjoys painting, sewing, tinkering with her inventions and flying around on her rocket-broom.


Be upbeat, Maggie is almost never sad, she always finds a positive way around things
Experiment with accents, who knows, something might just sound awesome! I imagine her to have maybe an old-timey transatlantic accent, or some sort of old American accent. She could also be posh English, think Tracer from Overwatch. Like I said, try things out, be creative!

  • "That's a peachy idea, Mogs!"
    *Coughing* "Oh gosh, that certainly didn't go as planned...Oh well, you know what they say, ' if at first you don't succeed...'"

  • "Golly gosh, would you look at the size of those wings!"
    "Mogs! Have you seen that one tool?..the um...oh pickles, what was it called again?...The one with the thing that you turn?...The doodad? The doohickey? Yes that one!"

  • "Oh don't be such a wet blanket, Mogs. I think it looks just spiffy!"
    " I'm so excited to get started, hold onto your hat, Mogs!"

Mogs is Maggie's sleepy, sassy, monocle wearing Persian cat familiar who is quite happy napping the day away. He's the Yang to Maggie's Yin, helping her remember where she leaves her tools when she forgets, while in return, receiving hugs, kisses and food from Mags. 


Mogs should be a lot calmer than Mags and speaks with a lot of sarcasm and sass. His accent could be absolutely anything you can think, just as long as your delivery is pretty dry. Have fun and be creative!

  • *Very bored sounding* "Meow."
    "A mouse? Maybe later...tired."

  • " The thingy? You left it under your pillow...where you /always/ leave it."
    "Uuugh, Maaaaags! Stop with the cuddling! I hate cuddling!"

  • "Let's face it, we both know you would have exploded or something by now if you didn't have me around."
    "How can you smile for so long? Doesn't that hurt?"
