Love Live! Duet Cover (Garasu No Hanazono)

Love Live! Duet Cover (Garasu No Hanazono)

Project Overview

Hey guys! As you can tell by the title, this is a casting call for the Nozomi and Eli duet, "Garasu no Hanazono." I absolutely adore this song and have been dying to sing it with someone and put it on YouTube. . .I just haven't found another person who could help me out, yet (hence why I am here). I should also go ahead and note that this cover will be in Japanese. Also, I will be singing Eli's part, so you guys are going to be auditioning for the role of Nozomi. Another thing (yeah, I know, it's a lot---sorry), I will be handling the mixing.

I believe that I should state that I intend to make this song as good as it can possibly be, so I am going to attempt to tackle every single harmonization in the song (fair warning, lol). Basically, both of the girls in the original harmonize the lala's in the beginning and end (obviously) and in various places during the chorus. However, if you are worried about this part, don't be, because I am a harmony fanatic and would love to help you out (I feel like I sound so pretentious, right now).

Another thing I should warn you about is the possibility of having to redo several recordings because I really want to make sure our voices mesh together.

To put it in simple terms, here is the list of things you need to have (ideally):

-a good mic

-good communication and commitment skills

-patience

-good sense of pronunciation of Japanese words (of course, we could work on that)

-good cooperation skills

-either skype or just a regular email address

If you're wondering whether or not I would be a good singing partner, I have a video here that will just provide an example of my singing abilities. You can listen to it, and if you think I suck (well, first of all, I would greatly appreciate it if you kept it to yourself lol), then you don't have to audition, plain and simple.

Anyways, have fun auditioning and be nice to each other! I look forward to hearing you guys!:)

I am going to post a harmony guide that I came up with for Nozomi's part to help you guys out if you need it (FYI this does not have all of her harmonies---just the main ones). Good luck!

I would like you guys to sing some of Nozomi's parts of Garasu no Hanazono (preferably with the track). I suggest singing a part from the beginning and then the end. I would also like you guys to give me an example of your harmonization skills, preferably with this song, but any well-known song will do (just make sure you clearly state which song you will be singing if you choose to harmonize in a different song). And please sing the song in Japanese.

Now, as you may or may not know, Nozomi's voice is a little higher-pitched than Eli's and is a little more nasally. If your voice is naturally like this, great! If it's not, I have no problem with you trying to imitate her voice, but I also have no problem with your normal voice as long as we sound good with each other, so if you want, you can audition singing with your normal voice and then your Nozomi imitation voice for both audition lines (just make sure you clearly state which voice is which, please). Of course, that is optional.

Anyways, have fun and good luck!:)

Look at Squidney's (aka my) audition for the harmony guide. I had to do it this way because I honestly had no idea how else I could post it.

  • Follow the piano for the proper harmony of Nozomi's part. I did a clip of the very beginning, the first chorus, the last chorus, and the very end. Have fun!
