Project Overview
Hello and welcome to this audition page! I’ve been working on this movie for almost a full year now, finally able to get the casting call up and running, and so now, here is my baby that I’ve been harboring for almost a year. Ready to stretch its legs.
In case you were wondering, the asterisks in the casting video means that the character speaks another language other than English. More information will be given with that character.
Now for everyone’s favorite part: The rules.
Dedication-This is a huge one for me! This script is a monster, and I’ll need highly dedicated people if I am to do this movie! (To express how massive, the main character is mentioned over 500 times)
Emotion- This movie is highly emotive, especially for the main characters! So please, have emotion!

Communication- Please don’t disappear from the face of the Earth if I cast you.
Please say the lines 3 times!
Must be okay with swearing- Some characters swear, others don’t, if you’re really against it, please notify me.
About the movie:
Althea has lived a troubled life, her mother was brutally murdered, her sister walked out on her, and her father is absent until he wants to beat her. Her foil, Vern, lives with her caring parents and rather annoying elder sister, but life for him was fine. The two of the bicker with one another continuously, not realizing just how close the two of them were getting. Over time, the two of them begin to realize that they were falling for each other, and Althea’s plaguing thoughts of her past dies down as she spends more and more time with Vern. Life for Vern and Althea begin to look up, however, life is never fair. In this world there is no such thing as fair. Fairity is only a concept made up by people to make them feel as though they were entitled to something.
The rating for this movie is PG-13, and is not suitable for all persons. There is a warning for mention of death, blood, abandonment, child abuse, and miscarriage.

Althea is severely plagued by her past. She saw her mother’s dead body on their kitchen after she got home from school one day, and the same night, her sister abandoned her to escape the wrath of their father. She grows up lonely and buries herself into providing a better life for herself. For Althea, there will be three stages in her life, when she was a child, teenager, and finally adult. I wish to use the same voice actress for her. Her voice is Medium-High
{Child}-
Mommy? Mommy, wake up! Mommy, this isn’t funny! Wake up, I don’t want to play this game anymore, this isn’t fun, Mommy, wake up!
{Teen}
Fairness, what is that? My whole life hasn’t been fair. My mother dying, my father not being here, my sister leaving me. What is fair? Is it fair to rip a nine year old’s mother away from them? Is it fair that someone young dies from a disease? Fair doesn’t exist in this world, Vern. It’s a made up concept made by people.
{Adult}
He-He can’t be gone! He can’t be, w-we were supposed to get married, live our lives together...You’re lying! Tell me you’re lying...You have to lying. {Breaks down into sobs}
Vern is a jokester, he tries to make everyone laugh, and he tends to get in Althea’s face. However, he’s the one to help her overcome what’s happened to her, and is very sensitive about what’s happened to Althea as the story progresses. He has a loving family, something that is a stark contrast from Althea. Again, the same voice actor for the character is ideal. His voice is Medium-low
{Teen}
Sure it is, don’t you remember how the whole third grade reacted to when her mother was murdered? All signs pointed to her dad.
{Teen}
Al, it’s not weird that you keep dreaming about her. It’s a natural human thing, what happened to you...it wasn’t right. You’re clinging onto these memories because they were so horrific. You saw your mother’s dead body. That’s not something to just forget about. As your friend, I wish I could help you through this, I wish I could wash away those memories, but they’ll never be washed away. They’ll always be present in your mind. So, no, I won’t make fun of you for always dreaming of her, you’re trying to remember her. You’re a human being, Althea. You have feelings just like everyone else, even though I seem blind to them sometimes.
{Adult}
You’re the one that I love, nothing will ever change that. You have to let me go, Althea. Please, this is for your own good, too.
Bahiya, also known as “B”, is Althea’s best friend. She’s seen her at her worst, and knows the most about her, besides Vern. She’s a very gentle soul and loves her dear friend with all her heart. Again like the rest, I’d prefer if her voice actress remains the same. Her voice is Medium-High
{Teen}
Hey, Al, I’m so sorry that I had to cancel last minute! I swear, those college apps just came at me out of nowhere and my Dad was hounding about it to me for waiting till the last minute.
{Teen}I know I don’t really recommend this, but you have to. You’re going to run yourself sick. You’ve been working late, staying up to finish your homework, and staying up even later because of your nightmares. You can’t deny them, Althea, I’m your best friend, I know you better than most.
{Adult}
Althea, you know you can stay here for as long as you like. You’re no burden to us, and you could never be. Try to get some rest, it’ll do you no good. {Pause} Do you want me to stay here with you until you fall asleep?
Sebastian is best known for being a voice of reason amongst his friends. He’s a man of very few words, but when he does talk it’s of pure wisdom. He is the husband of Bahiya when they all grow up, and is slow to anger. Just like the rest, I’d prefer it if his voice actor remained the same as he grows. Voice type is low.
{Teen}We don’t mean any harm of intruding at the place where you work, we’re just curious as to what working conditions our dear friend has to go through.
{Teen}
Obviously she didn’t because she kept sitting next to Ike even after she got low test score after low test score. She once asked me if I cheated my way up to be valedictorian. I, of course, said no, I got to the top of the class through hard work, and she couldn’t wrap her head around it.
{Adult}Lay him to rest? I think we all know that she’ll never be able to do that fully. It’s as Vern once said: you can try to forget, but their memory will always resurface. No, the best thing we can do for her is to be supportive and help her through this most difficult time.
Ike is Vern’s best friend, he’s like him in a way with being a jokester, and tends to always have a sarcastic/snide comment to give his friend. He is devious, and tends to plan things for his friends in order to get them to admit their feelings. Like everyone else, I’d prefer to keep the same voice actor for both sets of him. Ike speaks a little bit of Spanish, it doesn’t have to be well done, but if cast as him, you’ll be expected to speak in Spanish. His voice is medium.
{Teen}If you want to leave, then you can. But, I need to get pictures of them for their future wedding and for their kids. They’re going to be thanking me later for this.
{Teen}
Sweet Bahiya, this is for their own good. The sexual tension is nearly blinding me, and I would like to keep my eyesight, thank you very much.
{Adult}
I know he isn’t gone! Listen to me, Althea, you can feel it, too, right? He’s still here! He’s just missing still. Those clothes, the blood, it was just a ploy to make us assume that he’s gone. I know it is, you have to believe me. You do believe me, right? {He’s going crazy in this line as he’s in denial}
Fleur is the newest member of the group and quickly makes her place known. She’s like Ike in which she is devious and plans for things to go a certain way. She has her own secrets that she keeps hidden from people in order to appear like an untouchable being. Same with everyone else, the same VA is much wanted for this role.
{Teen}
She would get what she was getting to her! She’s been rude to me ever since I first came here. Calling me rude names. I hope she finds herself straight into the pits of hell.
{Teen}It seems she is. That’s a damn shame. Why are you all so oblivious?
{Adult}
I’m so sorry, Althea, I’m so, so sorry. If that bastard ever shows his face here ever again, I will make sure to beat him over and over again until he dies again just to make him know the depth of pain he's caused you. I'm sorry, was that too far?
Ciarda is the elder sister of Althea that disappears without a trace. She’s extremely protective of her little sister when she was living in the apartment with her, but after the death of their mother, Ciarda decided that she couldn’t take living under the same roof as their father. She appears mostly in Althea’s flashbacks and begins to plague her mind with taunts. As with the others, the same voice actress is preferred. Voice type is low.
{Teen}
And that’s exactly why I need to leave. I don’t want to follow another order that finds its way out of his drunken mouth. Look, sis, you should try to get out, too. Get yourself away from this life and make a new one. Who wouldn’t take in a lost puppy like yourself?
{Teen}Touch her and you’re dead. {Threatening-your baby sister is about to get beaten}
{Adult}Oh look at this, looks like you were right, sis, we are ruined. I mean just look at you. You’re spineless, the one good thing going in your forsaken life is gone forever, and there’s nothing you can do about it. Such is our lives. You should’ve listened to me and gotten out while you still had a chance.
Hang was Ciarda and Althea’s mother. She was brutally murdered one day and no one knows who did it. She was a kind woman who cared for her daughters dearly. She appears more in Althea’s flashbacks and is usually the one to keep Althea up all night. Hang has a very motherly and soothing voice-Medium-low.
Don’t rub, Thea. Oh my, what are we going to tell your teacher? Too many times has she called home and asked if you were being abused. With all the bruises and cuts I would suspect...I don’t know what goes on around here when I’m gone. Arda, please tell me whatever is going on around here. If either of you are getting hurt by your father, please tell me, I need to know.
I do hope you will find someone who you’re happy with, yes. Though, I don’t want you to find love through the same circumstances.
Erica is Vern and Helena’s mother who welcomes Althea with open arms. She is very pleasant to be around, but is also very stern with her son. Her voice is motherly-Medium.
Alright you two. Finn is at work at the moment, Vern. He won’t be home until dinner time. How about you go upstairs and do some of your homework, I know you have some. Don’t you dare tell me that you already did it, that won’t work on me.
I’m not angry that you helped out your friend, I’m angry because you didn’t tell us and grant permission to have her spend the night here. I’m proud that you put someone before yourself for once, but, next time, tell us when you’re going to let her in. {Pause} Also, it’s very nice to see you again, Althea. Would you like to stay for breakfast?
Helena is the typical older sister, she constantly bugs her brother and likes to see him get into trouble. However, she cares for him very much. She acted as a big sister figure as Vern’s friends grew up, and was friends with Ciarda. Her voice is Medium.
If you think your going to dodge a bullet by asking me about work, then you’re so wrong, little bro. When did Althea get here? You know the rules when it comes to friends spending the night!
Who says I’m acting? Come on, Vern! You gotta teach me what the kids on the street are saying nowadays.
More commonly known as Finn, Finley is the fiance to Helena, and is Vern’s favorite person to an extent. He tends to join in with Helena with teasing Vern, but he is dubbed cooler than Helena. Voice type: Medium.
We are being nice, Mom. Just giving Althea here some blackmail material.
Uh oh, looks like you’re gonna hear it now, Vernie boy.
Reevus is the father to Ciarda and Althea, he is menacing and tends to never be around, but when he is, he is a force to be reckoned with.
Bullshit, Thea. But, if you really want to take the blame, then we’ll have Ciarda over here watch. Maybe that’ll get the truth right out of her.
You’re gonna regret that, baby girl. {This is a threat}
